Would this be the same for a 2010 dodge avenger? I have same code, actually says nothing even tho my light is on and driving weird, but secondary code is that and crankshaft position sensor circuit but all say no code. Any suggestions?
I encountered the same error codes with my Caliber. Moving the TIPM triggered the error. I went to the dealership who recommends replacing the TCM. I got a second opinion from a transmission expert who went over my electrical harness and did not think its TCM-related but an electrical/wiring harness issue. Your video helped me correctly diagnose and resolve my issue by just replacing the TIPM.
👍👍 See this a lot buddy. Had a Pacifica where wipers came on periodically. But the Case cracker was when I had a town and country van and the sliding doors opened. Tipms were on back order. Junk

Oz Mechanics suspect its the connector plug pins to the circuit board solder joints. No need for more than a 40 watt iron and good resin core solder. Resolder every joint on board that looks dry. Repair could onl cost a few dollars and far better proposition than 2nd hand unit.
Watching the video a second time, it seems like the Dodge part cost is $1,200. So he talked to the car owner, who said a junkyard box for a lot less money would be fine. The guy told the customer "The junkyard part might fail". (for all I know the junkyard car might be there because of a failed transmission controller?). Anyway it looks like the junkyard part works fine, and everything is OK now. It looks like the whole box, with about 5 wiring harnesses plugged into it was the part they bought at a junkyard and is allowing the car to run normally now.
OZ, Good information one question how did you know the TIPM is the problem is it the gateway module between the PCM and TCM as the code was saying lost com with TCM GOOD VIDEO AS ALWAYS CHeeeeeeers
Start off with the codes and look at code criteria to see what causes the codes to set. Would be a lil more time to diagnose but at the end it would still be fixed

you should totally leave in the little bloopers you do and just keep rolling with the punches, I certainly won't think any less because it not perfectly professionally presented, it adds character to the viewing and makes your time in creating these much less involved. Just a thought.

Thank you Oz. Good job. Have a blessed and safe week to you and your family.
Thank you sir for the true video. I really felt it's over for my car but it came back.
Thanks alot for fixing my car! The transmission shop said it needs a new transmission!! Lol
Thanks for letting work on your vehicle
Now I wonder how many C/J/D transmissions have been replaced due to faulty TIPMs over the years.

Some good vids on disassemble and repair TIPM. Might be worth a shot vs $1200.....
Yea I might ask the customer for the tipm and see if I can fix it up

If you replace the TIPM with a used one from the same year/make/model of vehicle does it have to be programmed at a Dodge/Chrysler Dealer?
Great that you could save some money. Nice find Oz.
Thanks for watching
Awesome find.... couldn't have been easier for you!
2007 dodge nitro 4.0l NAG1 5 speed transmission. Have a p0743 tcc circuit,stuck in limp mode
What is the p0700 fault
I have a code U 0407 tcm can I use a used one or does it need to be flashed or is it plug and play
Just like new. Good fix
Probably bad solder joint. May be easy fix for local electronics tech.
Bad solder joints very common on older cars.
Yea I’ve done my share of chevy abs module and clusters. Never tried a tipm
Made good money from RAV 4 ecm/tcm modules. Hundreds of them true story
Just did almost the exact same thing with a TIPM losing com with the HVAC module
Thanks for sharing OZ... Cheers.

Does used tipm need to be programmed?
This one didn’t need to. But I believe on newer ones you would need a j2534 to program it
Oz Mechanics sounds good
thanks
Good job man, my question is how you fix the problems !? Did you change the box or you do some work on the wire !? Thank you Oz
