Hey thanks for watching the video!
This is probably my favourite Dairy Tour you have done to date. Everything was explained in such detail and also explained why it was done that way. So comfortable in front of the camera as well. You must really enjoy doing these as well. Living The Dream, what a great way to explain what you do, says a lot. Twenty days from today is also Christmas Eve folks, almost time to dig out your stockings.
It sucks what the Netherlands is doing to its farmers, but I’m glad you guys are thriving in the new world. 🇨🇦👍🏻❤
Yeah, they went full jackass. I think we need to reduce the population of politicians to help the climate. This is straight up BS what they're doing to those farmers.
You r the best. Thanx for visiting and getting all the insight and sharing with us.
You are getting better and better at the farm tours. Great video about a well run dairy operation.
This was interesting and informative. Thanks, Jan. 🙂🐮🐄
Great tour video Jan. Very informative. Thanks.
Fun to see how a generation of former dutch farmers found the challenge to become great dairy farmers, great innovation!
Awesome video!! Very well explained. Farm tour videos are awesome 🔥
Thanks for the great Dairy Tour!😁
good of you to expand your horizon, get new ideas and learn from others. I think you have grown on the concept of milking robots a lot but time will tell and the technique continues to develop so when it is time for new investments it will be a good change. Don't be impatient
That dairy sure has their program down to a science. I think their robots are the best. Very good video, Jan!
Nice to see that farmers with duch genes are successful in Canada
Greetings from a Duch dairy farmer
dutch
@@jwiereng englich is not my best, but better then your dutch
@@gjvdvelde8837 Ja, je hebt waarschijnlijk gelijk als je aanneemt dat mijn vaardigheid met de taal van het nederlands niet sterk is
Nice video. Interesting to see how different farms run their program. The difference in systems in place is amazing. Farmer needs to be mechanics, machinists, electrician, veteran and even a scientist all this on top of husbandry. Have a good day looking forward to the next visit to another farm
It amazes me the way each dairy adapts to their location with different way to manage their manure. Like each one is it’s own laboratory trying different a theory.
That's one of our fabric roof barns :) Great video
Wow… amazing work.
Excellent demo of modern dairy farming and the benefits we all receive from ready availability of dairy products in a safe and effective manner. Thank you to you all.
Good video editing, sound, and drone shots as well.
That whas a great tour around the farm 👍
I love this farm!
Very well done. 👏
Excellent presentation Jan! I found the discussion of genomics to be quite interesting. Using the technology to know the animals better and maximize comfort and quality of the end product (calf, milk or slurry) is very sensible. A shorter video but rich in information with the viewer invited to form their own opinions. Class Act!
I love your farm tours! The overlook area is epic! Sit there with a cup of coffee on a cool morning! Nice!🥰
Nice BC dairy farm tour. The milking robots are fascinating. Thank you for the video 😊👍🎄
It's cool to see other operations.
Thanks Jan for the interesting tour of another automated robot dairy. Awesome. Happy Holidays. 👍🎄🎅
Good work be done
That was very interesting thank you 😊 13:53
Cool seeing this farm again after about 10 years, our GEA dealer took us to check them out when we wanted to start a new robot dairy farm. They seem as laid back as then.
awesome video. Thank you guys
Loving the dairy tours!
great video, beautiful scenery. thank you
This is wild.
amazing
I very much enjoy your tours of other farms. The robots are interesting. I like the fact that the milk is automatically checked from each cow.
I am thinking you are wanting to persuade your dad to get into robots.
Very❤ nice
Hi Jan.
Video quality is awesome
Great awesome video Jan . Love the tour
Great interview! Is Texas panhandle next?
I find those automatic milkers to be fascinating. Thanks for another great tour.
Thanks for sharing your vid with us
Every farm is so unique in farm management . Enjoyed the tour . Great looking farm to.
This one I was curious more about the structure of the barn, it seems so different than others you’ve visited.
It's a European style barn, rather than a North American style barn.
@@MellowYe77ow I wasn’t so much thinking the layout but the roof structure being semi transparent I was wondering about snow and/or wind tolerances given the span. Given it’s BC it can certainly handle the rain. Then in the summer handling the heat would another thing.
@@daverowsome4023 It could be FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer) roofing. Enduro Composites claims their roofing can withstand hurricane force winds.
Awesome video! Thanks
The Best setup I’ve seen, there may be better Technology/techniques now, but it was a Round spinning Milking Platform. When the Cows get on they take a Tiger Torch and Flame the Udder and clean off all the peach fuzz that holds onto 💩, then it’s cleaned and the Suction Setup is attached and Milking Begins and as One Cow is done when it comes around another Cow takes its place and the Cycle continues until every Cow is Milked.

Very informative and splendid looking operations! USA viewer
Were the barn fans mounted at an angle. were they trying to push air through the barn? I have only seen them blowing straight down in ag and manufacturing.
To good
Thank You for sharing your videos
Loved this video. It's very ...Mooooving.. lol
Wow
GEA Robots are awesome!
Thanks Jan for another Dairy Farm tour. Do you think your farm will take the robotics leap in the near future? You farm is pretty progressive. I can see you going that route.
Very nice dairy farm but very noicy inside.
Enjoy this new feature of visiting other dairy operations. Nice to have the details on the economics of robotic milking?
Hi Jan enjoyed the show have a great day love from TEXAS
Interesting as it always is Thanks Jon.
Any advice on how to get started in Africa Nigeria to be precise? Am talking In terms of course for dairy business.
280 cows in milk or total including drys? And what sort of yields 305 days or per day average ?
Great tour Jan! This man knows his sh!t!
@saskdutchkid. Have you ever spoken with a GEA employee about these boxes?
Best of luck to you
Great video.
Going to start a list of terms, phrases and things that I didn't understand: :/
- 'feeding grain in the robots'
- 'more expensive at the robots'
- 'grain robots'
- colostrum (I looked it up - so if young calves get mother's milk immunity they are good; but it has to happen within the first four hours ? Why is that? Is it that is the period of possible onset of scours?) ref: ”If the cows have good immunity they provide good quality colostrum to their newborn calves. If those calves can get colostrum within the first four hours, they have good protection.”

Great interview!
👍👌❤🇨🇦
The Dutch showing us how its done . . . .. .Again! 👍
Yan, when are we going to see your new farm in BC? Looking like that might be the next expansion for the dairy.
Good video! Surprised you can get away from home as much as you do
Wow never seen a robotic function dairy farm before - the age of robots are on the rise 🤔
Great videos of other farms. Some advice let the owner narrate and show what the guy is talking about. Keep up the great content 👍
Is it hard to train heifers to robots?
👍❤⛄
Another great tour. Maybe u are starting to lean to robotic milking in Sask
Excellent.
How many calves do the cows have before they're worn out and turned into hamburger? On our dairy farm, we could have a cow for many years. I hear they're lucky to have two calves before they're worn out now.
Jan's farm has a cow that's nearly 10 years old. She has produced close 100,000 liters of milk. He briefly shows, and talks about her in a recent video titled: Hauling Liquid Manure In Sub Zero Temps (Skip to 16;31)
@@MellowYe77ow That's good to hear. When I visited farms in NW Indiana where they milk a ton of cows, I was told that they breed them back one time. If they don't take on that attempt, they're gone. If they do take, they milk them one more cycle. They don't try for another time. I asked why & they told me that the cows were wore out by then.
Those ceiling fans took a lot of focus away from me because I could not figure out if they were set up to blow the air in a certain direction or if it was just the angle of the camera
They are on an angle...your mind is not playing tricks on you!!
@@canadiancowman6586 Interesting! Never seen that before.
Are these completely self cleaning.
Hoping you and pop can use some of these ideas.
Hi .I am livestock assistant diploma holder. I want to work as assistant with DVM in your farm.
Hii
Gotta get your Dad to install a robot milker
I enjoy your videos. One thing when you are interviewing show what the person is talking about instead of leaving the camera on them.
How can I get intouch with you? Email?
🇨🇦
Congrats on the Netherlands beating my USA yesterday in the World Cup you guys might win it all
Haha thank you!
Canada is out though 🙃
2026 it comes to North America Canada and USA can get some redemption on home turf ! Lol
Another great video brother from the imperial co California
Very interesting
Kan ik bij jullie stage lopen voor school over een tijd. Het zou me echt leuk lijken
Do you know the producer of that roof?
🖐😎
can you show more of the equpment please
#1. Why do so many Dutch open Diary Farms?
#2. How does the robot know if the Cow is "Red Tagged"?
Something went wrong in the evolution 😉
@@DairyfarmMeindertsma judging by your last name you are also part of that fault 😂😂
You add hospital cows into the system you use and when cow enters into the robot it collects its collar tag data and determines which group it is in.
Are the winters in BC milder than in Saskatchewan ?
Hahaha, depending on North and South but yeah. It's like Cancun vs Alaska
bye the set up from the cow barn i could tell the where from the Netherlands
How do the cows know when to go get milked
They just natural choose too.
Think of it the same as the urge you get when you have to go pee.
WOW! AMAZING!
