Greeks and japanese have something common....they rush into battle not giving a shet if they die or not

A bit of context. Those Greek soldiers at the time were coming out of almost 8+ years of uninterrupted fighting.
They fought the Italians, fought the Nazis, when occupied they went partisan or joined foreign Allied contingents, and after that fought a civil war at home. The Greeks were at war from 1940 to 1949.
So their units probably had a lot of veterans among them plus younger men who grew up at war.
Not surprising they were though as nails.

The Greek were tough because they had to be, because that was the only way they could break free from Ottoman rule.
