I really enjoyed the book when I read it and then ended up making my SO watch the dubbed show with me and he actually loved it a lot. Loved the increase of the sister to Jack in the show and agreed about the removal of the therapist, I missed her. Also agreed that the show did kind of miss the comedic tone that Backman's writing gives the whole situation, but still had the ridiculous moments that you can't help awkwardly chuckling at.
Just finished the book yesterday and the series today. Imo, the series was a letdown. My favorite characters in the book are the therapist, Jack and Zara. So with that, I do not like that the therapist was not included in the series. Her conversations between Zara is just so enlightening and gave me the best chuckles so I was so excited to see it on screen. Zara's personality in the book was so enigmatic and the series did not give it justice . Jack's story with the therapist and how it became who they are in the present is the one of my favorite 'plot twist' in the book so without that I find myself not really connecting to Jack's character. In my mind, he's a softie tsundere, if that makes sense. I agree, that Fredrick Backman's writing is the best thing about the book.
ngl at first I thought the title was targetted towards people who were too anxious to read the book from an adaptation and just wanted a TLDR comparisson

That bunny suit looks way more awkward and ridiculous on screen than it did in the book tbh 😅
Haven't read the book yet and hadn't even heard about the show, so this was very informative!
I’m glad! I feel like no one has really mentioned there’s a show

Who said it’s not?
