- I decided to try out Panasonic's HC-X2 Camcorder for a week to see if i wanted to purchase it.
The footage in the video is unaltered in any way except for some color grading. I performed no sound editing, and no video stabilization so you guys could see for yourself where the cameras strengths and weaknesses are.
Here are a couple of things I noticed
1:39 : you can see the color of the front of the locomotive flashes a little bit. I'm not honestly sure why that is.
Bright whites were a little hard to meter.
2:59 : the camera shake is worsened by the rolling shutter effect, despite the camera having a global electronic shutter.
2:59 : the wind whipping around the mic created some weird noises. However, I will most likely end up buying an external mic anyway.
The UP has decided to run some ridiculously long trains recently, as a part of their decision to put shareholders above everything else. Can anyone count how many cars there are? - Авто та транспорт
I have never seen a train that long before!
By my count, it was four locomotives and 249 rail cars.
Wow!
Crazy, right?! Wow, that is an impressive car count.
Truly amazing production!
Thank you so much!
As a rail videographer you know of course that 3 mile long freight trains are the reason the passenger trains are always late ! That said, your video was excellent, new camera or no, you've mastered it as far as I'm concerned. The meet at 6:13 was my favorite and I'd like to see more of that old station. Nice finish too; I've subscribed !
OUTSTANDING VIDEO START TO FINISH!!! Super pro work here, love all the train shots and super cool B-Roll of the Steilacoom train station and surrounding area! My fav shots are the BNSF coming around the bend at around 1:30 and one of the coolest shots I've seen on youtube in a bit is that last shot of the sunset and then the train rolls in, giving more sneak peaks of the sunset through the train cars etc, just stunning!!! Happy Thanksgiving! -Ken
Thank you so much Ken! I always appreciate your notes on why you like my videos. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
Nice video
Thank you!
