I say you should never do it in the title because I don’t see the need to. What are your thoughts?
I think is clear by now that all laws regarding speed in both the US and EU must change and let everyone over a certain age drive freely as fast as they want according to the normal car speeds on the streets in their countries and not put on extra laws on e bikes or e mopeds like this, is pathetic that adult people cannot drive according the the normal street speeds while they at the same time are asked to drive in the middle of the car lanes with these e bikes and mopeds and no longer in the bicycle lane... laws are not meant to emotionally handicap people's lives experiences by neo communism and police states.. we need to be let to be happy and drive as we please as long as we follow all other normal street regulations just as motorcycles and cars.
I think you should not put an external switch on that wire because it is very visible. You mau rather add a remote switch.
As one of the people who actually asked you/others this question I appreciate the video. I actually only have a top speed ordinance in my area, so a switch for me would be ideal - even without pedals. Thank You for taking the time to try this out.. still waiting for my xXx.
I might put a 750W (legal limit here) sticker on mine, and hide a switch, so if I get pulled over or something and they question me about it.
Most won’t know lol.
My current bike is the legal limit technically and looks like a proper bike, so they say nothing. Until you work the switch😮 out, just be ready with the explanation that the controller limits it and say the controllers to make them faster are “like 600$ you don’t have.”
Also just don’t do wheelies or speed in obvious places. Unless they have a lock on you with something they won’t really get a reading that will alarm them.
It’s also important to consider having that as an option is useful. I’m not exactly trying to engage with 35mph+ traffic. A little less speed isn’t the worst thing so long as the system is responsive and strong.

It really should be a switch. if you ever want to let someone else use your bike for the first time. (or to convince your mom it's not that dangerous). :)

hi there, i havent done this yet. but i appriciate this video a lot because i have some people that want to learn to ride it but on the other hand i am experienced and like to have the wire cut. but now its nice to know you can go back into its origin power so you can teach beginners without them looping the bike with too much power

When the pedal kit comes out being able to turn it back into this most will make it a legal class2 (in eco) or class 3 (in sport). That's worthwhile. Thanks for testing it.
Only technically, but I do appreciate that. I’ve gotten mixed answers when casually asking LEO (not on something questionable) but they won’t impound anything unless you’re being outrageous/committing a real crime. You could get a ticket with an order to get it licensed, with the ticket dropped if you prove it can’t be. You just wouldn’t be allowed to ride it on the street with more problems.
It’s more about layering your defense because blowing it all on a “well technically” is likely in jurisdictions where they don’t like these sort of things.
Well in nyc with pedal and a switch it would be a class 3 ebike..

It’s only 19 mph because of the gear ratio he’s in.
It’s value in the uk where there’s regulations would be handy to flick it on and off incase the police stopped you

Thankyou for putting this test into actions , I think you could easily hook that wire thru a micro switch or mercury type switch in which you bend up or down be hard to find but I got one from dicksmiths electronics 20 years ago and still have it , works with lights so that means it can handle the light voltage running thru brown wires
I think this would make it a class 2 in cali because class 2 doesn’t need pedals and it just needs to be 750w and 20mph
I cut the brown wire on my x3 and it only now does 30mph I thought it was supposed to unlock 40-50mph anyone have any idea why this is. Thanks

I haven't done a GPS speed test. I could get it up to 45-48 pretty easy.

@6:35 There's a street legal light kit in Eu or online that looks basically plug and play, maybe those connects are for that. I'm still investigating...
Can you tell me when you get an error on your display is it because the kickstand sensor is blocked or is the sensor somewhere else blocked which causes an error on the display

Check the brake sensor wire. Unplug it.
I tried this on my mx3 and it did not relock the bike, that’s cool you can do it in this one!
Interesting. My MX3 had some crazy cheat code I had to do to unlock it. I didn’t have to cut a wire…
When I got my mx3 it said I had to use that code to unlock it but it didn't work and j had to snip the wire
"Range" switch? I'm lead to believe that going a little slower gives you a little more range - On a long journey this could be like reverse-cruise-control ensuring you don't go over without relying on throttle control alone?

ok so i have a sting R. my friend wants to buy it for $4400, should i downgrade to the xxx and save some $? its $3300 after shipping. im unsure if i would like this bike more.
Sting R is all-around more capable, IMO. The wow factor of this bike is what you get for $3000. You also need to factor in what type of riding you are doing. Mostly street? The xxx is a winner.

But by the time they figure out where it is, I will know where my bike is.
@@SESSIONS73 I don’t think so 😂 someone I know stole a bike and it had 2 AirTags on it they just got rid of them after the AirTag popped up on their phone and took off on the bike
