I has this issue last year, guess I was lucky by the sound of it, but had refresh the website on the day when the cancellation booking updated. Unfortunately there isn't another way of getting a test in a reasonable time unless you book whatever you can and then look for cancellations

I took my test last year and was happy I passed, I booked my test through the DVSA website in January and never got to take it till November, was it worth the wait. I'd say yes because I never got any inflated price and had time to practise. Was it a long wait? Absolutely but the patience and time to practise I feel is what helped me pass. So if anything I'd say just be patient, I know it's a long wait to the point you feel it's annoying but its much better than wasting 500 odd pound when a test is only like 62.

they dont pull anything
