I have played both these pieces....Laura Palmer's Theme is probably the darkest piece of music I've ever played, but, I really love the intensity when it goes from the darkest part, what seems to be the most boring part written in history, to it's build to where it becomes a BEAUTIFUL composition. The two styles work very well together. AND, +MrPianoSolo, THANK you for playing..don't let anyone here discourage you...I know that YOU know you are far to advanced and invested in your music for that...

I was just playing tonight for a friend...she enjoyed it. We were commenting on how quick people are to criticize those who play, when they haven't even picked up their trombone or flute from high school. People who can play have talent, no matter how they play. Unless you are a musical genius, and can offer me or this artist constructive criticism, you can stfu.

    • @dualshock3462

@@wdharvey1 You are probably the most arrogant piece of shit who has ever posted on UA-cam but sadly for you you can't back it up because you have exposed yourself as a shitty "musician".
First of all, calling the darkest part the most boring part in history shows that you have no idea
Second, posting how people have talent no matter how they play is an excuse for you to call yourself talented because by your logic " even playing bad means talent"
Third, posting "unless you are a musical genius you can stfu" means that nobody is allowed to criticize you because there are maybe 10 living people on earth who can be considered as musical geniuses and those who are alive they will not bother wasting their time on some unknown low-level musician.
Sadly for you you as a musician depend on common people and judging by the dislikes on your videps they think you suck and you will never be famous
and fourth, posting the cheesy comment "MrPianoSolo don't let anyone discourage you" despite the man having so many likes and a little number of dislikes because he is so talented makes you look so ridiculous because you act like you as a talented musician you give support to your fellow talented musician despite everyone being able to click on your videos and see how bad you are.
If you have played Laura's theme like you play in your videos I guess it sounds like a bad version of Happy Birthday

@@wdharvey1 And on top of that you seem not very bright. I found the video yesterday because I searched for Twin Peaks music and noticed your comment. So it doesn't matter if your comment was 1 day or 10 years old, you replied so that's all that matters. All of that took me 4 minutes on a day that consists of 24 hour so your whiney "get a life" response doesn't make any sense.

just work with it with both hands...get comfortable...let your eyes and ears and hands work together. learn how the notes combine to make beautiful music together, regardless of the song. It takes practice. Just sit down for about an hour a day working with putting the notes together. After you do that, you'll advance to other songs. it doesn't matter what songs they are, as long as you can read music. It takes practice.

that would be "practiCe slowly"....and, trust me, I'm beyond this level. Practice slowly is correct..to a beginner. Same as learning another language. I'm a bit more advanced...so, I attack the song more aggressively. A new language, I learn slowly.

oh, my.....these songs are so powerful in their emotion, they simply have to be played with force and preciseness. Karl Pokus, it's apparent you don't play the piano, so you don't know the feel of it. The piano/weighted keys are something to be experimented with. It's not an electric guitar or any kind of synthesizer. There is an emotion that goes from the fingertips, from the ear, from the sight and to the sound. Music is something that is like baking cookies: you hear it, and, if you know how to play it, it strikes something inside you. Passion is part of music, as well as the person that's playing it. Don't criticize it if you can't play an acoustical instrument. your comment is clearly enough that you don't know how to play.
