- Kevin Livingston, a Queens native, began the non-profit 100 Suits more than a decade ago with an idea as simple as its name: To give away 100 suits to people who needed them. He began collecting donated suits and distributing them, no questions asked, at “pop-ups” on the streets of Queens - outside of a Popeye’s, at active gang sites, or next to gun buyback programs. When people put on the garments, he’d see the impact immediately.
Through community support and sheer hustle - “I used anything and everything I had,” he says - 100 Suits gained a foothold. But early on, Livingston realized that simply handing out suits was not enough. Today, the non-profit has five sites across New York City and about 30 staff members, working in everything from violence reduction to workforce development, from computer literacy for seniors to a program in the city schools to mentor troubled students.
Hear Kevin tell the 100 Suits story, and how Lyft is working to help him help New Yorkers in need.

Hello, I'm Lyft's driver. I'll tell you. Lyft takes 70% and gives 30% to the driver. And when the car gets stuck in traffic, it charges passengers for traffic and gets all the money, but only about 0.45 cents to the driver. And when it arrives, it takes 5 minutes, which also charges passengers a lot of money and gives drivers 0.07 cents. Lyft and Uber need a thorough investigation
Yes, they definitely need to be reported & investigated . I’ve been driving for Lyft for about 2 months now and there’s a lot of things I’ve noticed that are not adding up and I easily noticed the 30/70 split… drivers stand up to this!
The financial cost in fees & whatever else is not good for the driver but it's even worst for the rider/passenger. Especially now ever since they raised their standard fees to ridiculously sky high
Lyft needs to stop giving out 50 cent bonuses to drivers, that’s a slap in the face
Lyft is scam
lyft that bmw i8 from despacito cars horn was so cool
Drivers like money too 😢
Good work!
Don’t praise them too much now. They’re screwing their drivers over so badly, our seats are stained with our own blood, sweat, and tears. They’re a lying, manipulative, corrupt company.
that's a great program, can we focus more on this great guy trying to help people get jobs instead of just burning Lyft, you're taking away from his efforts.
Just came from X. Here for the future comments. 😂🍿 *They "Bud Lighted" themselves. 🤦♂*
Don't Work For Lyft, Passenger Damage My Car , And Lyft Said They Won't Fix It...
WHY DID LYFT RAISE ITS STANDARD FARES SKY HIGH?? JUST A 5 OR 10 MIN RIDE CAN NOW COST YOU A WHOLE WEEKS SALARY 😂😂
Don't be fooled by the feel-good facade of this video. While it may seem like 100 Suits is doing noble work by providing suits and ride credits to help people get to job interviews, the reality is far less inspiring. Kevin Livingston's organization is just putting a band-aid on systemic issues of poverty and lack of opportunity, without addressing the root causes. Giving someone a suit for an interview doesn't magically solve their problems if there aren't enough good jobs available or if they face discrimination in hiring. And relying on handouts from companies like Lyft is not a sustainable solution. 100 Suits may mean well, but their approach is superficial and fails to bring about real, lasting change for struggling New Yorkers. We need to demand policies and programs that create living wage jobs, affordable housing, and equal access to education and resources in underserved communities. One suit at a time is not going to cut it.
