V12 Jags sounded amazing. 962 was beautiful. It went downhill with the expensive 3.5 F1 engine cars. Group C worked and used tuned up production road engines in a prototype chassis. With a limited quantity of fuel to control maximum power. Letting teams research how to make efficient power with fuel economy without costing too much.
I was fortunate enough to see these cars in period, at various circuits. It was a great series from 83 onwards for sportscar racing, the late 80's were superb given the manufacturers involvement compared to the earlier 956 dominated stuff but by 1990 the writing was on the wall.
I was that fortunate. The single win for the C291 normally aspirated Mercedes, and F1 knew nothing about this Michael Schumacher before the Spa Grand Prix.
Great footage. If we could have had Jaguar, Toyota, Peugeot, Mercedes, Nissan. Plus the various privateer 3.5 cars. It could have been a great era for sportscars. Alas, the writing was always on the wall. With so many organisational mistakes & overt attempts to destroy the series.
An era before my time but have great if vague memories of seeing bits on Screensport at parents friends houses. Love seeing these uploads. Keep them coming. Anything from the rally or rallycross world coming in uploads along with the great touring car and Group C footage?
the result of Bernie Eccelstone destroying the WSC, 1989-1990 were pure awesome seasons and this is utter shit, and that engine sound is really attroicous

All of the '91 cars looked fantastic!
I wish I grew up in this era just to see these live.

Sauber Mercedes salvaging a disastrous year with a win at the end.
Shame the championship died a slow, humiliating death by 1992.
Michael raced Just after Japan GP 1991 in here and his farewell race of WSC and also Ross Brawn went to Benetton from Jaguar.
The only international race ever held at Autopolis.
Great to see more content, love this thanks Monty!

Great insight at the beginning to this not-so-well-known circuit.
