Two things I don't understand, how can you spend so much time for a simple snack, and why you japanese put soy sauce to everything. Final resukt looks great, buy no freaking way me spending hours in preparing it since there are easier and also delicious vegan meals.
Hi! Since you are consistently commenting on our videos, I think this time, you deserve an explanation about some of the things that you don’t understand. First of, about putting time on making simple things is part of our culture generally in our cuisine not just for bento. If you are not aware of it , It’s called “Moritsuke” an art of presenting food here in Japan. I grew up in this culture that even in our household, my mom and also my grandma puts alot of effort in making food on our table. Even the simplest salad is well presented and has a balanced taste, nutrition and even color. So in simplest way, I can’t do anything about it. It’s part of us, that we put our heart in every meal. Even it takes hours. About the soy sauce, yes we do use so much of it in almost every recipe even in desserts. Just like any other seasoning you use like pepper and salt. 😉 I worked in other asian countries too and I believe, soy sauce is really essential not just in Japan but in other countries too. Your question why? And why not? It has a lot natural umami flavor. 😊 We’ve created this channel to veganize some of the Japanese food and it is really challenging to find some alternatives for soysauce because it has a unique flavor that is hard to replace. And most Japanese recipes uses either soysauce, dashi stock(made out of fish so we are using konbu instead), miso (still made out soybeans) I personally know that there are so much easy vegan meal recipes out there but Veganizing Japanese food is really is a challenge. We really need to think out of the box here so that we could create something similar without changing the original flavors. So I apologize that most of our recipes has soy sauce in it. 😅 Anyway, we hope that answered some of your questions. We respect your thoughts about it so we hope for understanding and respect for our culture as well. 😊 💚We will stillcontinue to do our best in veganizing Japanese recipes . Thank you for always watching😊
