      I dont know if hel be able to do it he's only practiced a bit with it but so far its not as natural for him as it has been for some others by the looks of it, I personally dont think he even needs it for level 18-28 play as Joseph and Dog have shown they can more then hang with and even out stack/ out score rollers generally speaking on level 18-28 much of the time! however the issue and what will become more and more a bigger issue in the years to come is post kill screen play/chase downs, as we saw here Joseph truly did play better stacking/straight up better fundamental Tetris then Huff did overall, it literally came down to post kill screen chase downs for Huff to just barely barely edge it out in the end ya know! so if Joseph can eventually learn rolling- and I hope he can- I honestly dont think he or Dog need it at all for level 18 - 28,I mean if they can get to a point where they can use it comfortably and efficiently and it only adds to there already masterful playing/skills then great ya know why not ,but they dont like "need" need it at those levels ya know what I mean?, I just think they just need to try and utilize it/switch to it right before kill screen play basically ya know, so hopefully they will do something like that cause honestly rare elite naturals like Dog and Joseph are so soooo perfect at stacking and improv and still so very fast for tappers even that they can do just fine against rollers right up to kill screen, its just what they can or cannot do at times after "killscreen" that will determine matches in the months/years to come against the best/elite rollers ya know. But yeah hopefully Joseph can get it down at least somewhat eventually, he's had a couple streams where he practiced it but yeah he's well lets put it this way if Hydrant and Huff are already like levels say 50- 60 at Rolling and Cheezie is like level 45-50 ish at rolling at this time out of say 100. Then at this time, Joseph is pretty much for now just a level like 3-4 at rolling at this very moment in time lol, I have a feeling itl be comparable to switching to Tapping from Das like how a lot of veterans simply either didn't even try or think they could or flat out couldn't learn/master tapping and instead just stuck with DAS and hoped for the best, I feel with this not everyone will be a natural or capable of mastering rolling or heck even becoming fairly good or decent at it in some individual cases ya know, but it just depends on the player and we shall see. Its not quite there yet so legends like Joseph and Dog for now for now can still hang with and even defeat the best rollers! for now. If if they are leading enough going into post 29 level play! along with get few lines/couple post 29 Tetrises with tapping as well, because I mean again Dog and Joseph there stacking/ fundamentals/ improvisational/adapting techniques are all essentially maxed out, and there tapping speed well Joseph is like an 8.8 out of 10 or so and still easily one of the fastest tappers around, and Dog is like pretty much the same thing skill/technique/speed/stacking etc. wise and his tapping speed is pretty much like a 9 or even a 9 .5 out of 10, if Dog is not the literal fastest hyper tapper in all of Tetris-which he may or may not be it could be him, it could be Eric still, maybe its this Tetris Time even hard to say exactly, but id Dog is not the literal fastest hyper tapper right now! then he's at least still easily in the top 2-5 range. But eventually, eventually, and likely fairly soon I have a feeling that I dont know if I can say most but at least half or more then half of future matches will be determined by post level 29+ chase downs primarily because of and using rolling.

      He meant it to, I guarantee you Huff literally practiced hundreds of more hours then Jd did in the calendar year 2021......and thats not an excuse by any means Huff in the end got it clean and fair respect, but thats how damn great and what a natural prodigy Joseph is and will always be, I truly believe he and Dog til this very day are the absolute peak best of hyper tapping hell they dont even really need rolling, maybe work it into killscreen play if can switch up before killscreen but I mean he is still that dang good really hope he's not discouraged here cause he was a thread away from getting revenge on Huff, heck he even technically played better then him most of the game just lost in the end with the Huff chasedown in key games. Joseph can still win this event with tapping just like Dog did bottom line! I absolutely believe that especially especially if he practices a lot more next year or at least in few months leading up to CTWC 2022. And thats a fact!.

    • @danielhicks4826
      @danielhicks4826 3 роки тому +1

      @@chiatriani Yeah Joseph and Dog are very rare examples of prodigies who both have nearly maxed out tapping speed but also maxed out improvisational ability, and most importantly supreme top tier stacking skills/IQ! and it shows, I do think they should bare minimum work on a method for possibly switching to roiling-if necessary depending on the game in question- before reaching "killscreen" ya know and just use tapping and do what they do better then anyone else from level 18-28 play but besides that there still solid man il take Dog or Joseph over 9 out of 10 elite rollers as they are for now on any given day, though to there credit a Roller elite one like a Fractal Huff or Hydrant when there having an exceptional day can defeat Joseph on that type of day, but its just as arguably even more likely Josephs superior stacking fundamentals skill and more then still fast and accurate enough tapping speed can still defeat even top tier rollers if not in the slight majority of matches then at least pretty darn close to on equal grounds/levels ya know. Joseph should for sure grind the game out regardless if has ready to try rolling in tournament play or not if he plays in ctwc 2022 he should grind the game put in a good at least 150 or so hours in lead up to main event next time and hel be even more freakishly consistent and sharp, but this is what a basically baseline hardly practiced or even competed much really most the year for 2021 version of Joseph can still od against the best Das/Tappers/and Rollers in the world to this day! Just amazing he and Dog are truly prodigies.

    What an amazing match...
    No words can describe their incredible performances... It was just insane!
    JD saying that It was his last day tapping made me so excited! I'm rotting so much for him to become incredible good at rolling and show what's he's made of next year.
    I think Joseph has taken the hyper tapping technic to its maximum potential already, now, new rooms might open where new records, even above 1,6m, and new playing styles take place in the future of ctwc tournaments.
    Thank you both for such great game, I enjoyed it a lot!
    Keep on going Huff! You might win this year!
    Joseph, keep it up man. I want to see you next year again! I want to see that so badly... Practice rolling and keep moving forward. Don't you dare to stop playing tetris, you are yet still too young, and there's a great future for you just waiting ahead, it all depends on you, take the opportunity and just like Koryan says: just do it!
    Boom! Tetris for the whole tetris community! \O/

    That is a big reality now, granted hypertapping was a huge step up from DAS simply the fact it unlocked gameplay beyond 29, the problem with hypertapping is simply muscle wear and tear on the NES d-pad and having to tap beyond what's normal it will do your hands in with carpel tunnel and such. And rolling technique will eliminate at least the excessive d-pad tapping wear and tear in the future. But of course rolling will probably eventually result in a different set of issues in itself with having to "rolling" rapidly but this will probably be far less bothersome as what hypertapping is currently. Either way, rolling will be the next evolution in Tetris, now the question is when, not if but when we could potentially see gameplay that could last for a few hours if everyone gets massively good at rolling to the point that it becomes the standard just below TAS. I can definitely see in the future where games going to level 50 and beyond happening, it becomes a stamina factor at that point in where the best rollers will come versus the great rollers. Tetris will continue to be more interesting for years to come. Joseph i have watched since he came on the scene in 2018, and when you look at it, Joseph was one of the few people to usIng hypertapping vs DAS and win two championships doing it, over DAS which was the standard before these discoveries. It's crazy how fast hypertapping is slowly fading out in just a five year stand, with rolling now and probably will be the best way to get maximum input out of NES Tetris and will probably be here for many years longer than what hypertapping is..
    It's crazy too because when Joseph won his 1st title most of the community believed hypertapping four years ago was going to be the only way to go from here on out. But nope lol. Like i said Tetris is going to become super competitive in the years to come. To think I'm 50 now, i was a teenager when Tetris came to the NES now to see this type of play is just beyond exciting.

      @@paulsd9255 that's true, but again basing it on assumption at the moment that these strats only go to say 50 or so levels, but what will happen once the best players that roll go way beyond level 50 consistently... Now that could be true it's nothing more than what you just described, and considering rolling overall would be better hand wise after stamina training for this, it may be a minimal issue, we won't know this until gameplay gets to that point which i think will still be months out from that kind of gameplay.

      @juliocastaneda5940 3 роки тому

      @@paulsd9255 I think that too, will see as gameplay evolves but this method will be the gold standard, at least in using an NES controller anyhow. And what is amazing is that this playfield is going to expand significantly, once this becomes the standard exclusively. Probably tons fold from what hypertapping did five years ago. I mean just this year alone the advancement from it grew a lot.

    Poor Joseph man he really is a genuine legend, I mean Huff and a few others probably put in more practice time then any other players this past year, and certainly way wayyyyyy more then Joseph has this year, and yet Joseph still came this close to beating him this time in there rematch it literally came down to super narrow post kill screen play, and this just shows that Joseph truly is a natural at this and he also is an absolute master at stacking and fundamentals, of course Huff is even without rolling one of the what anywhere from #2- top 5 best Tetris players in the world today at this very moment! and yet Joseph is still objectively a better stacker and better fundamental player then Huff, Huff is simply able to last a lot longer post 29 and its now to the point where that will more and more each year be the difference, I personally am not liking the fact that it may potentially come down to 95 percent of future games basically being 29+ chase down games meaning that every player will have to adapt to rolling basically like say a master fundamental stacker/high IQ payer like Nenu is playing a Huff or etc and lets say for arguments sake he's ahead by 200k on level 29, a guy like Nenu as amazing and elite as he is he's not even particularly fast for a tapper let alone rolling so Huff and them will simply more and more be able to take him post kill screen, but at the same time this is 100 percent fair it takes supreme skill and its totally fair whether I like it a lot or not so thats all there is to it, for now though its not quite to that point as Dog and Joseph have shown here in particular so far, but its getting to that point and Joseph is still one of the faster tappers and again an absolute master stacker and etc, but rolling was literally the difference maker in this series like Joseph played overall noticeably better Tetris, but in the end that didn't matter because Huff lasted longer and so thats how it is and Huff earned it amazing player thats for sure and 100 percent earned just making that clear I am not bashing the dude he's a true elite great and he remains the only man to defeat Joseph in CTWC history in fact! now Twice. I'm just saying that my personal preference is that I enjoy the whole thing and I just kinda hate to see post level 29 chase downs be the primary thing that determined matches in the end regardless how skilled and good at stacking and improvisational and etc a player may be n level 18-28 ya know, I just hope that players like Joseph and Nenu can if they need to actually get rolling down at least some what or at least for post 29 play cause honestly Dog and Joseph do not even need rolling for there pre level 29 play they really dont, thats how good they are, they truly do not need rolling to hang with and beat the elites even rollers before the kill screen! that is how fast at tapping and more importantly masterful there stacking /iq/ improvisational/ and fundamentals are, the issue is that they will need to adapt and be able to hang post lvl 29 because I see no reason whatsoever that as the years go on more and more and more matches won't be determined by just big really long lasting chase downs post 29 ya know...which again is what it is and takes supreme skill its not "cheating" its not"illegal" nor is it "unfair" its just a weird unforeseen thing is all so will see how it goes in the years to come. But Joseph truly is amazing his stacking and fundamentals remain among the absolute best in the world and thats with not grinding/practicing even close to as much as fellow freakish elites like Huff/Hydrant/Richie/Cheeze-e,Dog,Nenu and etc have this past year ya know, hes just that much of a natural but still to beat Huff in the future well hes either gonna need to play to his absolute limits every single match like he almost almost did here basically, try to be up by a minimum of 150-200+ k on kill screen, then go on for as long as possible and hope Huff cannot complete the chasedown ya know, Or..or Joseph to will have to find a way to if not master at least somewhat utilize rolling to an efficient enough degree even if just for post 29 play ya know. But all that crap aside sorry haha, excellent well deserved win by Huff and he really is a amazing amazing top 5 rated player !.
