At first this song is tough because of those double lined notes but it becomes easy when I practice on my own, my concert is on Oct 27th and can't wait :)
We played it at our school’s concert last year and we messed it up😢
Trust me I have messed up to last year or so we had a new teacher that wasn’t used to strings or us and one of the things he gave us was Carmen and it was a middle and high school level and we weren’t ready for that and the concert was so bad and after me and my family were driving home and we were all laughing because I kept saying practice wasn’t going well and my dad kept saying your do great you always do don’t worry but we laughed a lot on the way home and my dad said it was so bad it was hard to listen to and that made us laugh and he wasn’t mean about it we were just joking around but we tried our best and we all had a good laugh after and the teacher probably learned maybe don’t give us Carmen again for a while 😂

it kills me that a lot of violas dont get melody parts i would love to have a melody part

I agree! I’m a viola and I’m in the intermediate orchestra at our school (we have a cadet, intermediate, and senior orchestra) im trying to get into senior orchestra, in sinior the violas get a solo cuz there is only 2 of them, wish me luck haha!
