i know im a bit late but here read this. The Agent sat there for a few minutes, staring into the flames of the campfire. He felt a strange sense of comfort from the warmth of the fire, even though he knew it was just a temporary reprieve from the bitter cold of the winter outside. He couldn't remember the last time he had sat around a campfire with others, or even spoken to anyone for that matter. He had been so focused on surviving that he had forgotten what it was like to be around people. The man playing the guitar continued to strum softly, the melancholic notes drifting through the air. The Agent listened intently, feeling a strange sense of nostalgia wash over him. He couldn't quite place it, but the music was familiar to him in some way. After a while, the Duke spoke up. "You know, we could use someone like you. Someone who knows how to survive out here." The Agent looked up, surprised. "What do you mean?" he asked. The Commander chimed in. "We've been trying to make it to the outpost on the other side of the mountains, but we keep getting ambushed by the undead. We could use another pair of hands." The Agent considered this for a moment. He had been on his own for so long that the thought of working with others seemed foreign to him. But something about the group sitting around the campfire seemed different. They were all survivors, just like him, and they had all been through their fair share of hardships. He nodded slowly. "Alright. I'll help you get to the outpost." The Sledge Queen smiled gratefully, and the man playing the guitar let out a relieved sigh. The group packed up their gear and set out into the snow-covered landscape. The Agent fell into step behind the others, feeling a sense of camaraderie that he had thought was lost to him forever. They moved cautiously, staying alert for any signs of danger. The undead lurked around every corner, and the winter weather only made things more treacherous. As they journeyed on, the Agent began to open up to the others. He shared stories of his struggles in the wilderness, and the group listened intently. They, in turn, shared their own stories of survival and loss. Days passed, and the group encountered countless obstacles along the way. But through it all, they stuck together, and the Agent felt a sense of purpose that he had never known before. They finally made it to the outpost, battered and bruised, but alive. The group exchanged grateful looks as they settled into the relative safety of the outpost. The Agent felt a sense of accomplishment that he had never known before. For the first time in a long time, he felt like he was part of something bigger than himself. As the snow continued to fall outside, the man with the guitar began to play again, the soft notes drifting through the air. The group sat around the campfire, sharing stories and enjoying each other's company. The Agent smiled to himself as he listened to the music. It wasn't the guitar that had made him feel sad before. It was the memories that it had brought back. But now, surrounded by his new friends, he felt a sense of hope for the future. For the first time in a long time, he had a reason to keep fighting. Days turned into weeks, and the group settled into a routine at the outpost. They scavenged for supplies during the day and fortified their base at night. The Agent found himself growing closer to the Sledge Queen, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth whenever she smiled at him. But the relative safety of the outpost couldn't last forever. One day, the group received a distress signal from another survivor outpost across the mountains. They were under attack by a massive horde of undead, and they needed help. The group didn't hesitate to answer the call for help. They geared up and set out into the snow once again, determined to lend a hand to their fellow survivors. The journey was treacherous, and they were forced to battle their way through several undead hordes along the way. But the Agent felt a sense of purpose that he had never known before. He knew that he was fighting not just for himself, but for the entire community of survivors. Finally, they arrived at the besieged outpost. The situation was even worse than they had anticipated. The undead horde was massive, and the defenders were running low on supplies. The group sprang into action, battling the undead with all their might. The Agent felt a sense of exhilaration as he fought, his mind focused solely on survival. For the first time in a long time, he felt truly alive. After hours of intense fighting, the undead horde finally began to thin out. The survivors had held their ground, but they were exhausted and battered. The Agent and his companions rushed to help the defenders, bringing them much-needed supplies and medical aid. As they worked, the Sledge Queen turned to the Agent and smiled. "I'm proud of you," she said. "You've come a long way since we first met." The Agent felt a sense of warmth spread through him at her words. He knew that he had changed since he first stumbled upon the campfire with the group. He was no longer just a lone survivor, struggling to survive in a harsh world. He was part of something bigger now, part of a community of survivors who relied on each other for support and protection. As the Agent sat by the campfire, lost in thought, he suddenly heard a strange noise. It sounded like something scraping against the frozen ground. He stood up and looked around, trying to pinpoint the source of the sound. And that's when he noticed it - a faint outline of a buried house in the snow. The Agent's heart began to race. He had heard stories of buried houses in the area, abandoned dwellings that had been covered by snowdrifts and forgotten over time. But he had never seen one before. He signaled to his companions, and together they cautiously approached the buried house. With each step, the scraping sound grew louder and more intense. Finally, they reached the entrance to the buried house. With a deep breath, the Agent pushed aside the snow and climbed down into the darkness. The inside of the buried house was eerie and still. It was clear that no one had been there in a long time. But as the Agent searched the debris, he suddenly spotted a glint of something shiny in the corner. He moved closer and realized that it was a locked chest. With a sense of excitement, he picked the lock and lifted the lid. Inside, he found an old journal, filled with handwritten notes and sketches. It was the journal of a survivor who had lived in the buried house many years ago. As he read through the journal, the Agent felt a sense of awe and wonder. He realized that even in the midst of the decaying winter, there were still stories to be uncovered, secrets to be discovered, and a sense of hope to be found. Then he turned around and left the house. As the Agent climbed back up from the buried house, he couldn't wait to share his discovery with his companions. "Guys, you won't believe what I found down there!" he exclaimed, holding up the old journal. The Sledge Queen's eyes widened in surprise. "A journal? What does it say?" she asked eagerly. The Agent began to read aloud from the journal. "It's the story of a survivor who lived in this buried house many years ago. He writes about the harsh winters, the dangers of the wilderness, and the hope that kept him going." The Duke chimed in, "It's amazing to think that even in the midst of all this decay, there were people who managed to survive and keep going." The Commander nodded in agreement, "It just goes to show that there's always hope, even in the darkest of times." Then, as the group settled around the campfire, the Agent strummed his guitar and began to play a soft melody. The Sledge Queen and the Duke listened intently, while the Commander cleaned his gun and watched the surrounding wilderness. After a while, the Agent stopped playing and looked up at the stars. "You know, sometimes it's hard to find hope in a world like this. But when we uncovered those buried houses and hidden stories, it reminds us that there's still good out there, still something worth fighting for." The Sledge Queen nodded. "I agree. We may not know what the future holds, but we can find strength in the stories of those who came before us." The Duke added, "And in the bonds we've formed with each other. We're in this together, and that gives us hope." The Commander finished cleaning his gun and looked up at the group. "I may not be the best at expressing it, but I'm grateful to have all of you by my side. We'll keep fighting, for ourselves and for each other." As they settled in for the night, the group felt a newfound sense of purpose and hope. They knew that even in the midst of the decaying winter, they would survive, and they would do so together, no matter what challenges lay ahead.
Kerry is one of the characters I freaking love. Watching this guy mature and grow... it was awesome. Makes me sad there's not a "Rockerboy" ending where we say "Fuck it. If I'm gonna die, i'm gonna die as a rockstar" and join Kerry's band and live as a Rockerboy until my time comes... or Kerry help us raid Arasaka with Samurai and our fans. IT WOULD BE BADASS... but makes me scare Kerry would die ;-;
Yeah, lyrics fit perfectly also because Kerry is a strong but malinconic guy. This material should be sent to CD Project and used for future DLCs and/or sequel!
@@magnolerriccardo6840 we've tried to send it to CDPR and get the original voice actor for kerry but it doesn't fall under the contract kerry signed. It's sad, but if more people enjoy like you guys hopefully word will spread. Or at least a mods with our song in the game
@@magnolerriccardo6840 well with the inspiration provided from you I decided to shoot them another email with the song attached. Thank you so much for enjoying our song. You really have no clue how happy it makes us
I missed so many small details playing through this game for the first time. This is such a beautiful fucking song, hit a little harder than I expected it too
This song has made a permanent home in my head since I first heard it in this mission. Not only did it reinspire me to pick up writing again. It also made me sit back and reflect on the game as a whole. What you did here was simply add to the magnificence of this song, I hope to hear more of your work in the future!!!
Wow. It's awesome that we inspired someone when we can't even inspire ourselves. That's awesome man. I hope to hear content from you soon. I wanna see where that inspiration goes
@@BeyondThisAfterlife you actually inspired me to rework the song ARCHANGEL to which i added an intro to.. look on my channel also dont look at the rest.. this channel is FULL of random stuff :P
Ohhhh that's amazing. I never thought id be one to Influence someone to get back into their art work because of my own. You're an awesome person and I can't wait to hear your music. Tag me anytime and I'll support ❤️
We really tried to write the lyrics from Kerry's perspective of V's life. As he sees what changes and challenges he/she was going through. Game was just top tier in story 👌
@@BeyondThisAfterlife i have an anxiety problem and a very limited number of songs can help me calm down. kerry's song was one of them. now, so is your version. thanks for this
So I've listened to this song about 1000 times now lol its helping me threw a really tough spot in my life and the fact that the cords are from Kerry's yhat song makes it 10000 percent better. So what I'm trying to say is keep it up man this is amazing!
That makes heart damn near melt. We are happy that we can give someone the comfort through music. I've been playing music for a long time now and that's all I've ever wanted from doing music. I hope that the road gets solid for you soon and never forget that it's okay to talk about your problems We love you 😊
“Throw away my self control and giving into the demons inside Running out of time.” “Youre not living, your digging your own grave.” “Dying to live another day.” Certain parts, ESPECIALLY the ones I listed above, sound like Kerry got inspired by Vs experiences a bit, and then had the chorus be his own thoughts and whatnot. I like this, I headcanon this as the actual song that releases after V’s ending, the humming was just kind of a general idea for his song.
@@BeyondThisAfterlife A private joke of a small game's comunity reusing the original instrumental version of the song. There's actually an npc that can play the song if you give him his guitar back. Pretty hard to find, but since the game is so apocalyptic and melancolic, the music works pretty well to give you tingles and this hard blues that you can also feel during Kerry's boat scene.
@withersheep9009 not just a cover in my opinion, this is a tribute to kerry and everyone that loved this song but knew they wanted lyrics. We sat there for hours listening to these hums over and over just to make it as close as possible to the original.
Lyrics: Down, Got me feelin like I Never really knew you Down There’s no second chances with someone like you Whenever I start to fall you know I Drown Da da da da, da da dum He said, get out, don’t pretend that you know better than me So tell, me how, you shoved me aside, close the door, screaming “fuck me” Groupies, on me, you know you’re the only one I see Storm out, I’m ready To tell you That I’m not getting better And I don’t think that you are either Down Got me feelin like I Never really knew you Down There’s never second chances for someone like you Got me falling into nothin but the void of chrome, and sex and fame Should I comfort you? This was so freaking awesome. Good job my man. Kerry has always been probably my favorite character in this game other than Johnny and I remember first hearing this and just sitting in the boat for as long as I could just listening to this little melody. I whistled it for like a month after. Hearing you put words to it. Just the icing this very cake needed. And the words fit so well. Good job my man
@@thesilvershadow1749 we've gotten in contact with the actual voice actor of kerry to see if he would sing for us but it went against his contact and when we contact cdpr they just weren't interested
life update: And still after a year I come back to this song when I'm having a tough time. it's the final semester of undergrad degree. i have a paper published and a paper accepted and working on 4 more. the life at the lab is always fun and productive. I made a lot of friends and am actually happy after such a long time. i still have anxiety problems but they're getting less. at this very moment i'm not feeling too hot but it's ok i know i'll be fine. This song reminds me of all the problems in my life that i managed to solve like suicidal thoughts, social anxiety, etc. I think i can manage a few more. maybe i can still reach my dream of studying in MIT someday, maybe not. I'll give you an update later when i come back to this song. life has been one tough bastard to handle, but not ready to give up yet. wish you all guys the strength of dealing with the shit thrown at you.
Damn bro, I finished the game earlier this year and just found this rendition of the song and I gotta say that this is an absolute banger. I had to create a whole new playlist because of this song. Good shit man, gonna be coming back to this for a while
this mission really made you think about your life in reflection with Kerry's, dude made good and bad decisions, but in the end staying true to his nature saved him
The lyrics really fit what Kerry is going through in CP2077 : still haunted by the memories of the past, the memory of Johnny, and spiraling out of control, until V comes and bring him closure (or even love depending of the route you go). In the end, on that boat, Kerry finally decide to say "fuck it all" or, as your lyrics says, "I Packed up and left it all behind." His storyline isn't my favorite of the romancable character, but surely you transcribe perfectly his mood. Good job.
Bro, just here to give a shit ton of congrats and credit ! The way the lyrics fit the game and that moment in the game where it’s very near endgame and what happened in Mikoshi fit so well some verses, it both fit well and just sound beautiful and feel beautiful. Congrats man, love from France
i don’t know if there are dialogue options that explain the full situation to Kerry, but through my own few playthroughs he gets the basic gist. i think kerry started to make this as his thoughts brewed about what he missed in the samurai days making this as something he hopes tha last remaining fragment of Johnny could hear and be proud of. Kerry thought that Johnny thought of kerry to be in it only for the money, and after you help Kerry out he seems to shed his idea of monetary gain for true inspiration and moving words and sounds. Whether he knows V’s and Johnny’s time is limited is irrelevant as he just wanted Johnny to know he valued the time he had with him, possibly even coming to like him even with his stubborn outbursts. Your lyrics, meaning one thing or another seem to touch not only on a level for Kerry but toward V’s predicament. I can honestly say I’m a little choked up at the prospect that Johnny says next to nothing during this encounter, not his usual self, knowing Kerry finally took his advice
I absolutely love this comment. They need to do just one dlc, show, comic book, etc. To show more of Kerry's life during the phase of starting his music career after Johnny did what he did. It touched on a few things but it surely wasn't enough. They made him the best character in the game imo, but they sure could've done so much more with story with him. So that's why we wanted to write these lyrics in the most respectful way towards kerry. We wanted to grab his views of Vs life and the things him and Johnny where sadly going through.
@@BeyondThisAfterlife goodness, a reply so quickly on a video heading towards that vault the algorithm uses in the spare times. I’m glad you really get back to people, helps let commentators know you see it and care. Knowing CGPR wants to add a few things more to the game even now, more side content is more than welcome. Maybe V’s heist of the space station is the main flash, multiple casinos, medical centers, etc to help heal V of the genetic infliction from the chip, coming home from the heist to every person you’ve touched with a good welcome home of Kerry’s newest choom dedicated song. Though yes, some more Eurodyne content is needed
@@PhantomOc3lot the only thing I wasn't okay with in this game is all the missing content. Like wallrunning and jumping off the walls to a take down. But other than that they hit the story head on. And this song wouldn't be going to that "vault" without people like you and we thank you deeply from the bottom of our hearts. I'm glad to know we weren't the only ones wanting to hear the right lyrics for this song. The co stand support we get for this song is something I never thought would happen and it's you guys that did this.

Pleased to make your 200th subscriber. Something about that seems pretty cool. I felt like I had to say this so, I’ll say it here~ I’m so happy this mission was in this game. Suffice to say my bias against cyberpunk goes deep, deep. Like being cheated on by a long time partner. I’m still not over it. This mission though- a perfect example of what the game could have and should have been. This riff? This riff got me back into playing guitar. Long story short, I gave up playing when I was very young, I had a lot of people around me who were *lightyears* ahead of me in terms of ability- but this riff got me back. I sat in game and listened to him tap out this melody for minutes and minutes. Then I found this version. The lyrics are so perfect. I’ve seen other commenters mention the incredible juxtaposition between V and Johnny’s psyche and even the grey moral quandaries surrounding night city at large~ it’s fucking beautiful- you’re fucking incredible. Thank you for creating such a wonderful work of art. If I have anything to say about it, many many many more people will hear this song, and of you. 👉😉👉
Oh my God I'm speechless. I'm happy to have you as my 200th 😊 believe it or not it means more so much that 200 people actually care about our music. The song in my honest opinion is a work of art, but it could definitely be better in quality. That being said this was made almost 3 years ago and in a way I feel happy and a sense of not doing enough for you guys. I'm happy because after 3 years we are still touching people musical heart with this song and that to me is an absolute win that strives me to do better. On the off hand I have ao many song projects I don't want to disappoint you guys. I am only one guy that gets various singers to sing for him. All of the nice wonderful people who have streamed, bought, or just replayed this song over and over again, have my undying gratitude because I don't feel like I am enough to do this music stuff. Warning. An Agent on your team is down. As the young Apostle, barely even over the age of 16, walked up the tower with the rest of his teams respirators, he fell to the floor, blood running down from all his previous wounds. A Shadow Hunter followed him up, sitting by his side, its looks reminiscent of the now deceased Artillerist. A woman walked up to him, looking worried. Without saying a word, the boy mustered all his strength to get up, handing the woman a guitar before making himself comfortable against a pillar. The woman, understanding this, started playing a tune that echoed through the entirety of Eden. As she played, the boy sang along, a tear running down his face. For these two minutes, Eden was no longer a storm-filled wasteland. It was simply a quiet place, a pace of calm.. a night of calm, a Calm Night. The Raiders lied in rest at their castle, the scavs stopped fighting, and the Reikgon vanished into their shadows, giving silence and solemn through Eden, respecting the dying Apostle. As the song ended, the Apostle let out a smile and a chuckle. He was young, but he had been through much.. this was his time to finally relax, his time to find peace.. and peace he found. As the Agent fell to the floor, the woman paid her respects by placing the guitar next to him. The chaos of Eden may continue, but this event shall forever be remembered. The night of a calming storm.

"You've come a long way since we first met."
The Agent felt a sense of warmth spread through him at her words. He knew that he had changed since he first stumbled upon the campfire with the group. He was no longer just a lone survivor, struggling to
survive in a harsh world.
He writes about the harsh winters, the dangers of the wilderness, and the hope that kept him going."
The Duke chimed in, "It's amazing to think that even in the midst of all this decay, there were people who managed to survive and keep going."
The Commander nodded in agreement, "It just goes to show that there's always hope, even in the darkest of times."
Then, as the group settled around the campfire, the Agent strummed his guitar and began to play a soft melody. The Sledge Queen and the Duke listened intently, while the Commander cleaned his gun and watched the surrounding wilderness.
After a while, the Agent stopped playing and looked up at the stars. "You know, sometimes it's hard to find hope in a world like this. But when we uncovered those buried houses and hidden stories, it reminds us that there's still good out there, still something worth fighting for."
The Sledge Queen nodded. "I agree. We may not know what the future holds, but we can find strength in the stories of those who came before us."
The Duke added, "And in the bonds we've formed with each other. We're in this together, and that gives us hope."
The Commander finished cleaning his gun and looked up at the group. "I may not be the best at expressing it, but I'm grateful to have all of you by my side. We'll keep fighting, for ourselves and for each other."
As they settled in for the night, the group felt a newfound sense of purpose and hope. They knew that even in the midst of the decaying winter, they would survive, and they would do so together, no matter what challenges lay ahead.

Kerry is one of the characters I freaking love. Watching this guy mature and grow... it was awesome. Makes me sad there's not a "Rockerboy" ending where we say "Fuck it. If I'm gonna die, i'm gonna die as a rockstar" and join Kerry's band and live as a Rockerboy until my time comes... or Kerry help us raid Arasaka with Samurai and our fans. IT WOULD BE BADASS... but makes me scare Kerry would die ;-;
Man that would be THE ENDING. I'm glad we got what we did with Kerry but there should of been more with him. The man's a legend

This song has made a permanent home in my head since I first heard it in this mission. Not only did it reinspire me to pick up writing again. It also made me sit back and reflect on the game as a whole. What you did here was simply add to the magnificence of this song, I hope to hear more of your work in the future!!!

“Throw away my self control and giving into the demons inside
Running out of time.”
“Youre not living, your digging your own grave.”
“Dying to live another day.”
Certain parts, ESPECIALLY the ones I listed above, sound like Kerry got inspired by Vs experiences a bit, and then had the chorus be his own thoughts and whatnot. I like this, I headcanon this as the actual song that releases after V’s ending, the humming was just kind of a general idea for his song.
You hit it on the nail. This was what we were aiming for.
that sounded very decaying winter
@@minchai2943 what does that mean?
@@BeyondThisAfterlife A private joke of a small game's comunity reusing the original instrumental version of the song. There's actually an npc that can play the song if you give him his guitar back. Pretty hard to find, but since the game is so apocalyptic and melancolic, the music works pretty well to give you tingles and this hard blues that you can also feel during Kerry's boat scene.
Love it. Pop the lyrics in they sounded really good.
We worked extremely hard with the bare minimum of it being “studio quality”
@@BeyondThisAfterlife Then it can only be up from here 😁
I can't believe it. I loved cyberpunk and only realised today this song I've had in my playlist for years was a cover from it.
@withersheep9009 not just a cover in my opinion, this is a tribute to kerry and everyone that loved this song but knew they wanted lyrics. We sat there for hours listening to these hums over and over just to make it as close as possible to the original.
Lyrics:
Down,
Got me feelin like I
Never really knew you
Down
There’s no second chances with someone like you
Whenever I start to fall you know I
Drown
Da da da da, da da dum
He said, get out, don’t pretend that you know better than me
So tell, me how, you shoved me aside, close the door, screaming “fuck me”
Groupies, on me, you know you’re the only one I see
Storm out, I’m ready
To tell you
That I’m not getting better
And I don’t think that you are either
Down
Got me feelin like I
Never really knew you
Down
There’s never second chances for someone like you
Got me falling into nothin but the void of chrome, and sex and fame
Should I comfort you? Should I comfort you?
This time, you’re gone, just another ghost to torture me
Got my own thing, I’m not falling for the songs you sing
Goddamn, beaming, getting really sick of all your scheming
And now, I’ve got
To tell you
I’m finally getting better
And I hope it goes the same for you
Down
Got the feeling that I never really knew you
Down
Got me falling into nothing…
Should I comfort you should I comfort you….
This is interesting. I love the lyrics
Wow fuck😮

life update: And still after a year I come back to this song when I'm having a tough time. it's the final semester of undergrad degree. i have a paper published and a paper accepted and working on 4 more. the life at the lab is always fun and productive.

Good job.

@@BeyondThisAfterlife 💖💖
i don’t know if there are dialogue options that explain the full situation to Kerry, but through my own few playthroughs he gets the basic gist. i think kerry started to make this as his thoughts brewed about what he missed in the samurai days making this as something he hopes tha last remaining fragment of Johnny could hear and be proud of.
Pleased to make your 200th subscriber. Something about that seems pretty cool. I felt like I had to say this so, I’ll say it here~
I’m so happy this mission was in this game.

I loved playing decaying winter and I’m glad it’s still striving somehow. Calm night has to be the best remix of this song.

Do you have a guitar tutorial for this cover? It's so fking good.
I can make one if that would interest you guys
Am I the only weird one that expected lyrics to be like "dun-ta-da-da-dan dan"? >)
Lol we tried to put a bit more effort than just some hums. But after hearing the og so much it's hard not to hear it like that
POV: this is what you hear when your parents are fighting in the other room
To drown out the sound? 😟
@@BeyondThisAfterlife no actually i live with my aunt and uncle before my parents divorced and my mom died my parents would fight so i put on head phones and let my songs play and take a nap
@@your_fellow_irishmen oh my God. I'm so sorry to hear that. My parent also got divorced and I basically never got to see my father. So I completely understand what you mean by listening to music to drown out the noise. I hate seeing people go through traumatic issues just by being at home.
@@BeyondThisAfterlife another hour another day another trauma
@@your_fellow_irishmen aye man but there's only one way up from here and we can't keep ourselves down like everyone already does
preem
Thanks choom
Cool now make it 1 hour long
@Releera its on spotify 😊 you could always listen to it on repeat 😜
rip decaying winter
It’s a shame this game had the launch it had. I enjoyed my time regardless, but there is so much potential!
I completely agree. All the stuff that was left out would've been a great dlc update but it's almost like they abandoned ship
@@BeyondThisAfterlife yeah, I know what you mean.
