Good intro to schizophrenia. I’m in the middle of a three generational struggle with mental illness from schizos to mood disorders. Though not affected myself I’ve seen a lot of weird shit and your frankness and sympathy are hugely beneficial. I’ve been the caregiver for a schizophrenic male for 22 years and really appreciate when I see a psychiatrist like you speaking clearly about the situation for those who are affected. It sucks. But medication tweaking has been very important from my limited experience as an observer. Thanks for your posting and please keep up the good work. The one on ADHD in kids was starting to connect with me until you got to the part on brain anatomy functionality blah blah blah, I understand real and severe mental illness is a biologic disease of the brain but what really counts in the end is the behavioral affects, period.
You would need to meet the full criteria to be diagnosed. No single symptom would be sufficient, there are many reasons that someone could have a speech impairment that are not related to schizophrenia

As always,
great Video!
Can you recommend a book?
I find the concept schizophrenia a bit difficult to understand.
Kind regards :)
What if someone has disorganised thought/speech but none of the other symptoms? Asking for a friend xp

How about "Let's talk Schizoaffective Disorder"....
Love it, this is an excellent topic, I will start the conversation with I think it’s over diagnosed more to come soon……
@@ShrinksInSneakers thanks.
@@ShrinksInSneakers really? You think so? I think it is under diagnosed, maybe in my country, Kenya.
