STREET FIGHTER 2 vs TURBO 👊🏻 Portraits Comparison

- Capcom's Street Fighter series is like a high-stakes arcade soap opera, full of twists, turns, and turbocharged updates. It all started when rogue arcade owners began tinkering with Street Fighter II, juicing it up with faster gameplay and quirky new moves. Capcom, not to be outdone in their own game, countered with Street Fighter II': Champion Edition and Street Fighter II' Turbo: Hyper Fighting. This wasn't just innovation; it was a coin-munching masterstroke. Each new iteration kept the quarters flowing and the players fiercely engaged, transforming a challenge into a cash cow.
Enter Street Fighter II' Turbo: Hyper Fighting, a game that's like the original on steroids. It's swifter, more intense, and boasts an expanded roster of characters. Craving speed? Ramp it up in Turbo mode, but be prepared for a whirlwind of chaos at the highest settings. Prefer a classic feel? Switch to 'Normal' mode for a taste of the original tempo. This update isn't just a speed boost though. New moves and tweaked character balances add depth, making Turbo a hit with competitive players. However, in the grand arcade timeline, it sits in an odd spot - more thrilling than its predecessor but not as polished as its successor, Super Street Fighter II. For those steeped in nostalgia, Turbo is a treasured flashback, but for fresh-faced fighters seeking the ultimate Street Fighter experience, the later installment might just edge it out as the champion of choice.

You can't choose speed on the arcade version of Hyper Fighting. It's only on Snes and Megadrive version.
But I have a HF romhack who apply the Champion Edition Speed to the game if you want
“Rogue arcade owners” weren’t the ones tinkering with the settings of Street Fighter II: Championship Edition. It was the bootleggers. Cheap unscrupulous arcade owners were buying the cheaper hacked ROM “Rainbow Edition” version of Championship Edition to save money and Capcom decided to enhance their own official game because they were tired of getting ripped off. Street Fighter II Turbo was created out of necessity to stop piracy. Also, Super Street Fighter II Turbo was horribly broken in the North American arcade version. No matter what difficulty setting is chosen it’s almost unplayable for single player. Everyone who is really into Street Fighter II knows that Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting is the best version to play.
Everyone: gets bloody and bruised
Chunli: just really depressed
Balrog really looks like Tyson in WW
Fun enough where in Japan, his name is Mike Bison.
He actually WAS based on Mike Tyson.
He looked a little too much like Mike which is probably why they changed his name and the sprite art work
Hence why they had to change his name to Balrog in the West because in Japan, Mike Bison is his name, and the Bison we know is actually Vega. Balrog is actually Vega and Sagat… well, he’s the only one that still retains his name.
@@augosyxSagat’s name couldn’t easily be changed. He’s the final boss of SF1.
Blanka's eyes would literally pop out of its sockets when defeated in the original. 😅
In both
Blanka’s eyes would really go wild during the continue screen! 😂
@@gedaman Specially when u fast forward the countdown after 6.. 😆
@@kraziezombie Capcom had the best continue screens. Final Fight had dynamite 🧨 strapped to your character like an ‘80s action movie! Cadillacs and Dinosaurs had the bad guy pointing a gun at you.
@@gedaman I agree.. they were very creative with their Continue Screens, they'd usually convince me to keep putting in coins! 😆Although I've always loved the Tecmo Ninja Gaiden Cont. Screen the most.. check it out.
SF2 Guile = Just joining the military
SF2 Turbo Guile = Being in the military a few years...juicing with Steroids. 😅
😂😂😂😂😂
Bruh
World Warrior Guile went from
JK Simmons with a wig to Stephen Baldwin in Turbo 😂.
Chun Li got off easy.
That was a thing for fighting games at the time. Men would be all bloodied up, but women would just cry or pout or have a few bandaids.
@@baalfgames5318facts
As Leon would say:
Women...
Babyface Ryu 👍🏼
Fr😂, I always wondered why though🤔
The one on the bottom is baby face, right?
@@petergarcia1241, no, the top.
@@tvoovm7254 You can even see some chin hair on him haha.
In his 20s
Glitchy M. Bison hat.😂
You don't typically see it in the Street Fighter II arcade game unless you use cheats to play as Bison.
Not really glitchy
He lost part of his skull lmao
Blanka: 🤪
El mejor 😂
Good to see Honda's arm anatomy reworked
WW Bison looks terrifying with those weirdly shaped red eyes and all red outfit
And red teeth too!
@@gedaman Also just noticed the pale skin, entirety of the portrait looks mad uncanny
@@OpoumConsumer Everything looks a little wonky in World Warrior. Capcom was trying to figure everything out sort of like The Simpsons in the first season.
Bison with pupils just doesn't sit right with me, and Ryu with a lil beard patch but when his face is swollen the beard patch magically disappears lmaoo ugh street fighter 2 was hard af....but man did it define my childhood
Ah eu gosto das pupilas deixa mais normal sei lá
M. Bison looks like a Korean dictator
He’s problably from Vietnam 🇻🇳 and Witt his power of light could be a reference to Ho Chi Minh… could be…
Not really, because take a good look at SF2 Balrog. His real name is M. Bison. If you did look good you can see why. M. Bison is based on M. Tyson.
M. Bison's appearance is based on a Riki-Oh villain named Washizaki, who's a pre-WWII-style imperial Japanese general. There's a panel of the manga where he's chopping a man in half with a sword, and the face he makes in it is where M. Bison's Vs. portrait came from.
@@moescredriver5486 He's from Thailand if I'm not mistaken.
@@Zelphiez he’s mysterious if I’m not mistaken, in alpha his base was in Brazil 🇧🇷 and nobody ever said about his origin, but the Vietnamese star ⭐️ could be a hint
エドモンド本田はやられた後も顔決まっててカッコイイ
Top portrait looks like he's handling defeat gracefully.
Vega: Capcom had the balls to replace the broken mask on his face with blood
Blanka: More teeth and angry = monster
Chun-Li: Less anime
Dhalsim: Loses his pupils unless you literally beat the shit out of him
Honda: Stole Ken's eyebrows
Guile: Go home and be a family man
Ken: Identical, except he has a scrape on his knuckles not apparent in his WW portrait. IDK if that was intentional or not, because its present in his default portrait, not his lose one.
Boxer: Still happy even when he looks like he got mauled by a bear
Ryu: R.I.P. his facial hair, no wonder it took until SFV 💀
Sagat: Dry AF lips 👄
Bison: Sad Asian man
Zangief: Man still kept that leotard portrait until Alpha...
You aint have to say boxer unless you just forgot his switched name was Balrog
@@CipherKnighto I didn't, I'm American, I just have no idea why I said "boxer" but didn't say "Claw" or "Dictator" for Vega & Bison 😭
@@tatsumakivee4201 yea thats what confused me lmao
Man, Bison just looks mauled, lol.
That continue screen is the best of all time!!! Wonder if it comes back someday
Where the music coming from I want the Source
I miss these beat up face screens along with the winning statements. They were fighting game gold. Though now when I look at some of busted faces, they are hilarious especially Blanka’s and Bison’s 😂
Yeah I dunno what happened. The last time they did this was SF3 2nd impact. 3rd strike on they stopped doing it.
Sagat looks like he's into it 🤡
He got ChapStick between SF2 and SF2 Champion Edition!
the classic funny beaten up faces
Ryu had it the worst his white belt turned red ☠️
...and he lost his goatee.
I remember bison had red eyes on the the original sf2. It creeped me out the first time i seen him. Lol
Zangief's turbo one was an improvement. What is that angle on the original? lol.
Vega in turbo looks like he's smiling menacingly
Why does M. Bison/dictator have a hole in his head☠️☠️
M. Bison has black hair and the Vs./Continue screens were all black, so you weren't expected to see little flaws like that.
SF 2 Turbo : Hyper Fighting
October 1993. (France) (Super Nintendo)
The 4 boss are playable.😊
How do you get to see Bison's beaten up portrait in WW?
OG defated E Honda looked wholesome!
Never noticed how badly damaged Vega's claw gets
Chun Li' s knot on her head looks like it's growing....
WW BALROG: Looking Like Tyson
WW BALROG Defeated: Will Smith from Hitch 😆
Loved Turbo and CE. Not a fan of super but would be cool if you compared.
Cammy, fei long, dee jay and T-hawk?
Not Ryu getting his ass beat so bad they took his stubble and changed his clothed.
I love this remix!
O mister bison teve uma dor de dente no final da luta 😂
Definitivamente Bison es el que queda mas desfigurado...
Byson looks like Stalin beat up 😂
Wait, how do you get Bison's defeated portrait on SF2? It cuts to the ending directly, no?
You can see it if you’re playing him in 2-player mode
@@davidmedina8954 in SF@ World Warrior you can't choose Bison. Only the 8 characters before Balrog, Vega, Sagat and Bison.
I’ve talked to many friends about this subject. I actually find most of the World Warrior art to be better than CE and Hyper Fighting. Chun Li, Claw, Sagat and Dictator I think all look better in Hyper Fighting, but I find the character art for all the other characters and general color scheme to be better in World Warrior.
Barely any change, until Super came.
Does anyone know why Chun li is wearing orange in her WW portrait?
Awesome
Many thanks!
It's like watching them grow up or atleast get stronger jaw lines
0:42 El Policía está llorando
Which one's the music from?
I remember the difference between both characters normal faces and when they lost both faces got blood and different
やっべぇやられたキャラの顔、全員知り合いにそっくりだわ(´・ω・)
会社の同僚だから余計ウッキウキになる( ´ー`)
病んでるな…
Bison looks like he was supposed to go in the trash and went to the shredder instead 💯
Why is Chun li depressed while the others are bloody and bruised
Women...
Sagat really got the same before and after! Proves to me that Sagat is really ….
Bison looks like he got stomped to death
I find it weird that Ken is the only character whose art is not reworked when everyone else did, even Vega looked different in Champ compared to WW.
ryu got the stubble smacked off him
Damn, bison/vega lost parts of His head/brain😱
Chun Li tem um trage para que lutar e um trage para perder, isso é que é vaidade!! 😁😁😁😁
They all allergic to bee stings lol
You must defeat sheng long to have as big of a glow up as Blanka had
Rashford was in SF?
Interesting. I thought the original was cool
Did someone eat the back of M. bison's head on the top one? 😭😭
They should still do this, itself a shame they don't
M Bison still has his hat on lol
What is the song name?
My childhood ❤
Alphabetical order in accordance with the original Japanese names, real fans love to see it 💥❤💯
Somebody done punched Ryu so hard he lost his goatee!
M.Bison Was High Asf In WW
負けても闘志を折られて無さそうな
リュウ🎉
Bison seems to lost a part of his head.
*dances to the music*
Ken's yaranaika face tho
Bison looks like a beaten up chinese officers, that's also the reason i click this video
😂😂😂 I love how they bloody
How is there a defeated Bison graphic in World Warrior? The bosses weren’t playable yet and obviously if you beat Bison, that’s the end.
Must be Championship Edition vs Turbo.
They didn't use in WW. But it's there.
The first time It was used in WW was in a DOS port. You would get the character's winning quote before the ending.
@@lordvega3112 Yea if you look at the defeated WW Bison again, you can see the hat glitching out.
This is when Guile became a man
Which one is turbo?
Turbo looks like they got they're shit wrecked as fuck
Quién los aporreó
Goku
Bison was on that good good before the fight
初期のザンギは負けると出川みたいだねw
Pegaram leve com a chun li !!!!!!!!
Honda's tiny a** right hand in the og xDDD
How could u see bison losing face in world warrior
メインキャラの大半が書き直されたのにケンだけなぜ書き直さなかったんだろ
니 어디고
オリジナルからあれから😮
Balrog is Mike Tyson
Ganyan Ang makikita ko sa mega Ang street fighter videogames
I dont remember chun li dress change in street fighter warriors
The developers forgot to switch Chun-Li's qipao from orange to blue in The World Warrior because they were rushing to meet a deadline putting this game into production. They of course fixed that goof-up in CE and the SNES version of WW
Ken's was unchanged
M. Bison is still the best, the hat is still on but ragedy and torn
Two please
This is the best Life
A Ryu hasta lo rasuraron a golpes 😂
Eu tinha muito medo do Bison no continue coitado
Now Compare Turbo Vs SUPER SF2😂
