The aspect I love about the F1 cars of the 1960s is that they were distinctive characters. No mistaking a Ferrari from a Honda from a BRM from a Lotus from a Brabham and from a Cooper.

Same here with Le Mans Prototypes, they all look like awkward twins. I've mistaken a Porsche with an Audi once.

@@Panzer_Runner With my inexperienced eyes when it comes to top-tiered sports car racing coupes over the past 35 years, it was very difficult to tell the difference between: Jaguar, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes, Honda, Aston-Martin, Porsche, Audi, Mazda, Lexus-Riley, Chevy-March, Spice . . . the list could be endless of all the slim variations of racing sports car coupe designs that have raced from the 1980s to the present.
In 1967, no mistaking the differences between: Ford GT 40 Mk IV, Ferrari P4, Chaparral 2F, Lola T70, and Porsche 910.

Not in terms of safety... As much as every era of F1 is exciting in it's own right, up until the 80's we've lost so many drivers that would come out of these crashes without a scratch with todays technology. It started getting better later.

Crazy how an underestimated company like this become a monster (that could devouring Ferrari, Mercedes, etc.) as the time goes on.

There is no traction control, abs, stability management, or active suspension in formula 1 anymore. The low torque the f1 cars always suffered from has been fixed with electric motors in the lower rpms that shut off in the higher rpms as the internal combustion engine gets into its powerband. They are also pushing about 1000hp now.
The only area a modern f1 car is easier is that they are paddle shift but they pull such high G forces due to the aerodynamics and tire technology now that taking your hand off to shift and still be able to turn (they don't use power steering) isn't really possible. Especially not under braking. You are thinking of the 90's when Williams had active suspension and traction control and various assists were allowed. That no longer exists and the cars are mechanical turbocharged beasts with torquey electric motors making it feel like it has a v8 in the low rpm range.

Vollmer Tobias I don't know what is your opinion, but to my mind it's a bit sahme on today's F1 that the top speeds didn't changed for many and many years.

I need to say that back then they NEVER used a gear ratio that can run 350 km/h! They barely can steer while at 1/4 throttle in third gear

    Nearly unwatchable.
    **LET'S REVIEW**
    1) purpose of the video: car not on the track; car with engine running to show off engine
    2) sound quality: extremely unprofessional
It's easy to check, with modern video gear, the aural dynamics of microphones, e.g. their "faithful reproduction of sound".
Why tease everyone with "listen to this cool V12" then have no sound. "Here's some cool noise! Hah hah made ya look!"
    Good gawd.
Video maker name has been noted.
