It’s kind of ironic seeing you around a Indycar in this video because you resemble the driver Alex Palou 👍

I'm not sure who he is, so I'll look him up in a minute. The Dallara IndyCar Factory people were kind enough to give me a quick tour, which I did do a short video midway through the tour.

When you do a comparison see if you can get the storm fighter flex4, OC duration flex, IKO Nordic together to test all of the shingles with the nailing strip while also being SBs shingles.

Nice vid Brian! Cool of them to hear you, invite you out, and let you put some product to the test. Looking forward to your future vids on the seal strips.
Is the Titan a premium line of theirs?

Good video, other than the sound. I'm a homeowner who has re-roofed a couple large sections of my roof. We're in a rural area and up on a hill in the mountains. The house can get high winds, so I wanted it done right. Called a lot of roofers and most didn't return my call. One came by, but he didn't give the correct answers to my questions. For instance, I asked him if he used ice and water shield in the valleys, which is where we had leaks, and he said, "No, but I will if you want me to." Anyway, the brand that I used has a 2 inch strip, but only the lower 1/2" has 2 layers of shingle material, so I try to nail in that narrow area, which slows me down. This webbing sounds like a good idea. Hopefully the other brands strengthen their nail zone as well.

Great video but have they fixed issues with TAMCO Heritage?

Supposedly, they changed the seal strip on the Heritage line to an SBES seal strip. I will be getting my hands on some soon to do testing. From what I saw in person with this Titan line, was impressive. I will be testing the Titan line up against IKO Dynasty, OC Duration, GAF HDZ and Certaineed Landmark Pro.

I remember IKO using that strip a few years ago. It was really hard to cut through and you could see it on the gable ends where the shingles stick out 1/2”
It really slows down application when there is lots of cutting to do but it really is strong AF
I’m pretty sure IKO discontinued it because the roofers hated it 😂

You must be talking about the dynasty line. They still manufacture it.

@@GrandRoofingIncah gotcha, thanks Brian. Is it something similar to the strip on the back of the tamco?
Good to see you sharing your experience with the Tamco guys

They need to compare apples to apples.
But, I've heard the titan line is decent but it's new, how do we know how well it will hold up after it's exposed to the elements after 5-10 years.

GAF was the first one with the indentations and that allows to nail it anywhere obviously you do want to nail it where the nailing lines are. The glue is what prevents the shingles to stay in place why would you want a strong nailing strip and have the shingles flopping? Also it’s very important not to have the glue on a continuous line because it traps the water that eventually gets in. I’ve seen that problem many times. By having a dotted glue line allows water to get out if that makes sense

I literally just watched you trashing Heritage and was gonna ask the Tamko rep how he’d respond 😂 In your opinion, how would you rank the Titan XT to the OC Duration and Malarkey?

i built a brand new house in 2008 put Tamko on it. Worse thing on the house. Straight up JUNK. Pissed me off so back 3 years ago i went with a stone coated metal roof and couldnt been more happier. Should have done it first. I got a bad taste for Tamko.

It's tough when a company has previously had a very poor product and then makes a change and hopes people catch on. It will likely be a long time before the trust is regained.

As a roofer who a contractor only uses tamko
    The Joplin plant makes garbage
I got some titans for Fredericksburg it was a night and day difference

Correct me if I'm wrong... I don't think there's any force in nature that this test replicates that a shingle will be subjected to. The only thing that this seems to be replicating would be the force used to tear off these shingles and this really isn't going to be an endearing trait. Just give roofers one more reason to cuss the company...
    Am I wrong?:

No copper granules. No thank you. And limited colors. I can sell against it with OC and make 30% more margin! Love it.
