The font is designed to be like that because all vocabulary and grammar have been taught in previous lessons. We make it hard to read on purpose so that students can get used to reading real Chinese characters and not rely on Pinyin. If a student wants to put Chinese into real use they cannot do without characters.
Some other teaching materials give too much emphasis on the 拼音. This slows down the student learning curve. I love the format of your teaching material! And your grace.
