A few things to look at. 3 way switch, bad soldering or a wire came loose on either the 3 way or volume. If your not getting any sound at all. Output jack or a bad patch to the amp. You can try wiggling the 3 way switch to see if the sound comes back and cuts out again. It's not likely that the volume pot would be defected. Hope this helps.
Hemostats are your friend on this project. Acquire a set of long and short (straight and curved) for hollow-body work.
