@@jasonlovi8745 the episode makes you think that they’re going to have a dumb love triangle but instead Rad wasn’t in love with Enid and actually wanted her and Red Action to be together, the point of this scene is that he’s making fun of the homophobic people who wanted him to kiss Enid
2:28 i honestly adore how steven universe showed the masc presenting gem wear a dress and femme presenting gem wear a suit. It honestly says a lot about how mascs can still dress fem and how femmes can still dress masc
They also did it as country’s that censor the show would portray ruby as a man and sapphire as a woman, so they flipped it to make sure the audience knew what was going on, but also I guess it was we will have the final say by the creators and love conquers hate moment.
It also says a lot about gender distinctions being absurd and irrelevant in general/

I remember when I didn’t know I was bi, and I watched the bubbline and ruby/sapphire kisses on Cartoon Network. I was so, so happy, and I thought it was because I was an ally excited for representation. Now I understand that I was really projecting my own wants onto those characters, and seeing them fulfilled was amazing. Representation is important, especially when done right.
I actually was a big homophobe but started to change my mind after playing Undertale. Alphys and Undyne were so cute together, and I realized I was being a jerk to my friends. (Also, nearly my entire graduating class came out, sooo)

I really liked the dynamic between Harley and Poison Ivy, they are a really great couple (i feel sorry for Kiteman but honestly we all knew that they were in love, even in some comics they are girlfriends)

I also hate the amount of LGBT rep in that show because its unrealistic there's only like one or two straight couples lol but at least they are happy. Actually, according to the creator, it was the more plot-driven episodes than other series. Consider Amphibia or Gravity Falls, which both have much more chill episodes than Owl House does

Yea usually the guys in cartoons are more coded than actually queer or they're parents or characters but not part of the main squad. Anime definitely has more but you're more likely to see mlm as passive representation in cartoons by displaying a couple in the background or as a support system for a main or B character
