"King Tut" with Steve Martin is a classic!
Yessss they missed that one.
I'm gonna have to watch that one and shake that sack
That was my fave song when i was 2 years old.
Should have made the list, bit watch Mojo is notorious for thinking the world began in January 1, 1990.
King Tut!!!! Fabulous!!!
Remembered the night they paid tribute to Gilda and played this, Steve had tears in his eyes and I think the world was crying along with him....Gilda was the one and only.
Gilda was fearless. Didn't matter how silly the sketch was, she was pedal to the floor committed.
Steve said, ".......How young I looked and how good she was."
The way Gilda had to ease off the table where Steve deposited her! Classic!
Rosanna Anna Dana…. 😢
This was one of my favorites. Loved her!
Justin Timberlake and his commitment to single ladies gets me everytime. He rocked that leotard
For real!!!
Don't forget "The Package" 🎅
Just the fact of Timberlake in a women's leotard heels is epic ny itself!!
So hilarious to watch them….
That has got to be the most hilarious skit ever on SNL!!!
And the best part of the Chippendale dance: Patrick saying he can't beat Chris, he is too fantastic... :-D
I went through that whole video wondering where the Chippendale tryout was, only to find out it was rightfully in first place! Sad to think that Patrick and Chris have both passed away. Such incredible Talent!
Luckily they r now making heaven an extremely fun place
Edit: and now Betty White is making Heaven laugh their asses off
I love those who commit! They are surely reliving the good days in Heaven’s Gates.
Considering the fact Patrick’s character seriously thought he may lose out to Chris’s character for getting hired, I would say the skit is still fresh. No matter how much people want to pick it apart.
It’s 2 guys dancing their booties off.
I'd like to think Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze are still doing that dance off in Heaven, on a stage of clouds, whilst angels watch and laugh their wing feathers off.
Chris Farley actually hated that skit :(
That's my favorite ever!!
AMEN!!!
@@charitysmith5766 I know...David spade said that it made Chris feel sick about himself, before he went on.....😥😞😒....
@@Maya_Pinion exactly :( how sad
Eddie Murphy playing James Brown- was one of the funniest SNL dance sketchers ever!- if it is not on the list they missed it!
yes! Gettin hot in the hot tub!
AGREED
"Can I get in the hot tub?" (YEAH!)
"Will it make me wet?!" (YEAH!)
"Should I get in the hot tub?" (YEAH!)
"Will it make me sweat?!" (YEAH!)
Well, well, well...
James Brown hot tub. Yes!
Kristen Wigg is not funny.
RIP Norm MacDonald 😂😭
RIP Gilda Radner 😂😭
RIP Jan Hooks 😂😭
RIP Chris Farley 😂😭
RIP Patrick Swayze 😂😭
❤🌹🙏
Plus Jan Hooks and Phil Hartman.
@@SheilaR.08 YES! Thank you!
Yes R.I.P.! So many untimely deaths. The #1 pick, So bitter sweet because three of the five people in the sky or no longer with us. And they all died too soon.
@@SheilaR.08 They didn't appear in any of the sketches on the list, though.
Every time I see the Chippendale skit I can't stop laughing, it will always be my favorite from the show!
I just think that Steve Martin did the king Tut video was one of the funniest and should of gotten recognition. Whenever I depressed and need a laugh I always turn that on. It's the best
So good, people loved it- but maybe this was classified under legit musical act- not a. Skit
Good song, dance itself, eh.
and the Blues Brothers!!!!
Agreed
It does the same for me. I love King Tut.
Never understood why Cheri Oteri didn’t get more attention. She was HILARIOUS
I saw the #1 pick when it aired. I could not stop laughing and crying. The other dance was "King Tut" that should have been on the list. Steve Martin was also funny and it was talked about for months.
One of my favorites!
Gotta condo made of stona....
Yep!!!! Agree 100%!!!
That was very funny.
Steve Martin is a comedic legend! To this day!
God bless you, Gilda. You and Steve in "Dancing in the Dark" was so classic!
Hope you and Gene are spending eternity together forever. 😢🙏❤️
Amen.🛐
Your killing me smalls!
So love the Single Ladies number- anything with Justin Timberlake is a winner!!!
It definitely should have been higher. I laugh out loud every time I see it.
I once saw an interview with someone from SNL where they talked about JT. They said that if he hadn’t been a star in music already, he’d have definitely been big on SNL.
@@ItsJustLisa We’ll just have to settle for watching him whenever he’s on Jimmy Fallon!
I totally agree with you two. JT dancing in black pumps & leotard (behind Beyonce) of all people, was one of the funniest skits of all time. His talent is off the charts. 😎
Yeah I was gonna ne upset if they hadn't included Omletteville which I watched live. I've never laughed so hard! I think that was when I fell in love with Timberlake and figured out i was gay. Either way, anything with SNL and Timberlake is a yes please in my book!
@@christopherpericolosi-king4979 You we’re there to see it live?? You lucky bastard (said with much affection)!! I’ve always wanted to go to a taping but it never seemed to work out. I tell myself that even if it happened I would end with a host I didn’t know and a musical act I wasn’t a fan of. But to be there for Timberlake and that cast? You are a very lucky man. 🙏🏼
I love Cha Cha Slide! And who doesn’t love The Chippendales sketch! I also love how the judges stayed so committed.
Chris Farley inspired a character dance on World of Warcraft with that bit in first place. He was iconic!!!! RIP Chris Farley and RIP Patrick Swayze.
I knew it was in Wow! He was the uh ogre dance right?
Steve and Gilda absolutely brilliant. I remember when they did it and I couldn't stop laughing.
Too bad I missed it when it actually aired. But I have an excuse, back in the late seventies I was in diapers, LOL.
The commentator called him Dean.
Looking back, we've lost a lot of good ones too early.....
I remember watching that dance when it originally aired! I was in H.S.
Bad one boo-boo. They should have corrected that.
I was going to riot of the Chippendales dance wasn't #1. Nothing beats that skit.
NONE WILL EVER TOP CHRIS FARLEY DANCING WITH PATRICK SWAZE AND CHRIS BUMPING AND GRINDING....THE BEST OF ALL TIME....IT STILL KILLS ME TO SEE IT.
Took guts-awesome idea.
That was the best ever! I just belly-laughed watching it again. The next part of the sketch is just as good, where insecure Patrick compliments Chris on how good his dancing was. This is COMEDY GOLD. I miss both of those guys.
Yes agreed, absolutely one of the best ever.
I love these two actors, having met Patrick Swayze, what a beautiful soul.
Let us continue to laugh, smile and appreciate for what their presence made to our society.
I can’t believe Christopher Walken’s cowbell sketch wasn’t on here!! It’s iconic!!
one of my faves but not a dance sketch
You missed “Soul Man” by the Blues Brothers. Belushi and Ackroyd were the best!
Good point
Can't believe that wasn't #1!
Blues Bros, should be #1
Yeah that was very disappointing that wasn't there, because yeah that turned into a movie as well... The blues brother's...
AGREE, 100%
They're all on my "Best of" SNL. Lunch Lady Land, All the Single Ladies, Chip'n Dale's are some of my all time favorites. Miss you Gilda, Chris, Patrick and Norm! You are the tops!
#1 when I first fell in love with Chris Farley. He may not have been comfortable with his body but that sketch and his unbeatable humor made me ok with mine thank you Chris love you and miss you always. ❤😭
Farley and Swayze win the best ever award. I laugh every time I watch it.
But where's D in a Box? The dancing is vital for setting the New Jack Swing mood!
I can’t believe “D in a Box” didn’t make it! Classic!
Yes i thought that too
OMG, D in a Box was the absolute best
They weren't really dancing in it hence why it wasn't mentioned
My favorite! I used to go watch it on UA-cam when I need a good laugh. They removed it.
I've never laughed so hard.
The Spartan cheerleaders gets me every time. Will's facial expressions are just too funny.
If you have not yet watched Adam Sandler's tribute song to Chris Farley, I encourage you to. Heartbreaking, and touching. It was beautiful.
OMG that made me cry. You could just tell how much he loved Chris.
I only heard that song once, but it made me cry nonetheless....Farley was a maverick, and a force to be reckoned with, and Adam Sandler is 10000% awesome, and still is.
Farley & Swayze hands down the BEST!! May they both RIP, they will never be forgotten.
Gilda Radner and Steve Martin
Classics paying tribute to a classic.
I could swear she called him Dean Martin.
@@michelepaccione8806 I thought so too! Gilda was a gift to the world.
I think she did say Dean. 🤣
The Farley and Swayze dance is a well deserved 1st place, rip men , you'll never be forgotten
How was Paul Rudd not mentioned in Single Ladies? I see he wasn't really dancing, but it is PAUL RUDD!!!
He did amazing dancing at the end 😆
Chris Farley is beyond anything the show has seen since. This was a masterpiece.
Lies again? Saturday Night Live vs Saturday Night Fever
@littlemikeism I agree 100% !! Miss him so much!!
Farley was an embarrassment here.
I agree. Chris Farley was a farce that made his mark as an overweight goofball. So many good comedians have come through SNL. The ones who were just druggies (and there were a few!) don't qualify, IMO.
Sorry - this response was to the wrong post.
Chris Farley was so funny. The Chippendale skit and Cowbell are my 2 favorite skits .
Payton Manning in the locker room at halftime! Will Forte and Payton M dance is MY all-time favorite!!
I didn't know how Beyonce kept it together. I would've been on the floor rolling in laughter!
If Jason sedukis isn't on here for What's Up with that I'll be pissed his running man was epic
Yes! And he could do it for such a long time without breaking character.
He was just an honorable mention! I really thought that he would be at least #1 or #2! He says that he still has people approach him about that!
I was looking for that too
@@Rollwithit699 well that's y the show is so great there's so much good content that everyone has different top tens lol
I agree! The best ever!
All of Justin Timberlakes skits were hysterical!
YES!!! #1 is definitely #1 in my book!!! Should have included the church lady dance with Dana Carvey and Fred Savage!!!
You missed three amazing 80s dance sketches... Martin Short as Ed Grimley (with triangle of course!), Dana Carvey as the Church Lady, and Mike Myers as Dieter.
damn, I just realized how much Robert Downey Jr is looking like Beck Bennett in the sketch at 2:44
Until the narrator said, “Robert Downey, Jr.”, I thought it was Beck Bennett.
It was brief but I always loved Mike Meyers’ Sprockets dance.
The best
Thank you!! That’s what I came here to say!
“Now we dance!”
JT as one of Queen B’s backup dancers should have been higher. His comedy chops are superb.
"Cobras and Panthers" might be the greatest SNL sketch of all time. Norm MacDonald wasn't the best cast member, but his comedic style will never be topped.
"Samurai Night Fever" with John Belushi deserved a mention, I believe.
I snort laugh everytime I see that skit. Second City TV guys were thr absolute best of SNL. After them it went down hill, for me anyways. Classic.
Mike Meyers as Dieter und Sprockets! "Unt now on Sprockets it is time to dance!"
Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley are number #1. As it should be. And all is right in the world. Nearly 30 years later, and that sketch is still a scream!
I absolutely love what you said at the very end about Chris Farley. He was a comedian icon on SNL (and elsewhere), ranking right up there with John Belushi. RIP Chris Farley ❤️❤️❤️
Chris Farley was a joyous national treasure...if he only knew how loved he was, maybe it would have made all the difference😥😥
BTW, Patrick Swasie was a legit professional dancer, so those hip thrusts were professionally skilled! 😜
Chris Farley had two of them. "Lunch Lady Land" and "The Chippendales Tryout."
Love the single ladies dance always cracks me up.
Lots of better picks than the Liza M skit. Steve Martin's King Tut for one.
Not a fan of Kristen Wiig. Never found any of her skits funny, just embarrassing and unrehearsed. Why was this on here and not King Tut or more of Justin Timberlake?
@@charlesthompson3615 totally agree. Kristen Wiig never was my cup of tea.
One of my faves is the bar fight to “Lollipop” with Don Cheadle and Beck Bennett. It cracks me up!
#8 Dancing In The Dark is an ALL TIME classic. The Roxbury Guys reoccurring sketch was also great, not the least because they made a whole movie about it. But even if they didn't, it still makes me laugh every time.
RIP Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley. You're both legends who are sorely missed. Thank you so much for making us laugh still, decades later. 💖
Absolutely agree with the number 1 choice. Patrick was a Gorgeous man and Chris was Hilarious!
Patrick Swayze always had the best hip thrusts! ❤ RIP
I would first like to say that I just luv Justin Timberlake. . . To be that confident in your own sexuality is truly a turn on. And I really miss Patrick Swayze. He made the world a better place while he was here and will not be forgotten.
I love the Spartans sketches. Cheri teri does not get enough credit.
The best dance sketch for me is Kristen Wiig's "Ann Margret tries to throw a wad of paper into a trashcan " number. I am not a Kristen Wig fan but that one is awesome.
I laugh so hard at the snl "put a ring on it" dance!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Anything with Jim Carrey is great too!
Jim Carrey is awesome!!
@@selinacarrales440 yes he is!
…Roxbury IS dance
You missed 2 of my favs, "Dick in a Box" and Will Ferrell playing the cowbell.
These are about DANCE skits, not music skits,
Good news: your number one pick is my number one pick. I never get tired of watching Swayze and Farley dance it out! Bad news: you left out Steve Martin’s “King Tut“ video.
Lunch Lady and Chip 'n Dales are two of the best skits of SNL history. Chris Farley was a genius. There hasn't been a male cast member to equal him since.
My all time favorite is Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze. ❤️
It was something for all tastes!
Stuart killed me... How didn't they crack up doing that.
I still miss Gilda so much. Even though it is been a long time since her death, what a talents she exhibited to the show. Many otjher scenes to see for those younger.
I always laugh at the Liza Minelli lamp sketch but 'Single Ladies' is the best; Andy Samberg is the funniest of the backing dancers - his moves, slight goofiness and disbelief when their routine is interrupted are a perfect combination.
I wish I could marry Andy Samburg he is a king of quirk!
I noticed Beyonce is slightly in front of the guys so can't see what they're doing unless she turns to look. I'm sure that was intentional, because there's no way she ever would have made it through the sketch if she could see them.
My favorite - linebackers in tutus doing the Dance of the Little Swans from "Swan Lake"
So I've seen almost everything but SNL never gets old.
Yep, that is indeed the #1 dance number on SNL. Definitely my favorite.
Patrick & Chris were SO HILARIOUS, was the funniest thing ever
I grew up on the Roxbury Boys. Like, watched it on SNL, watched the movie and eventually went to clubs where that song unironically had all of us geeks dancing just like that for fun🤣🤦🏾
Don't forget the jolly rancher candy in you bottle of Zima!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve, Gilda, B and Justin nailed their parts. They definitely made me laugh my butt off!!
Hate to be this person but Ummm actually West Side Story is composed by Leonard Bernstein. Stephen Sondheim wrote the lyrics. sorry I thought it was really weird that it was expressed as a Sondheim musical.
Yeah I thought that was weird, too
I was searching for this comment. Thank you. That was bugging me so hard.
What about Hot Tub by Eddie Murphy? That was phenomenal! Nothing beats King Tut or the Chippendale ones though! Classics forever.
Hot Tub for sure.
My fave on SNL was Steve Martin, with Dan Akroyd , and one other Actor, doing the “Two Wild and Crazy Guys”...
The Dancing In The Dark Sketch was replayed the day Gilda Radner died. Steve Martin ironically hosted that night.
I totally agree with the number 1 pick. It was then, and always will be hysterical.
Farley was fearless!
And although I like Patrick swayze alot , Chris stole the show!
"D in a Box" is the funniest SNL skit and should have been here...
These are DANCE sketches.
Agreed....it's my favorite!
David S. Pumpkins always gets me.
Chris Farley's dance by far. I always laugh 🤣😂
A Kareoke bar where I used to go they had 2 guys that would do the Chippendale dance off every Saturday for the Birthday Girls. It was really great.
Top 10 Justin Timberlake skits on SNL would be amazing!
The Roxbury guys!!! 😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
They missed Mike Meyers’ German techno god Dieter.
Chris Farley was THE SHIT!!!!!
IN A VAN!!! DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!!!!!
You can't take away anything from that man. He was committed to the sketch, NO MATTER WHAT!
Even if the sketch wasn't that funny, FARLEY KILLED IT!!!!
I agree with all these picks. The Roxbury Guys made that head move to the song "What is Love?" a huge trend. David S. Pumpkins is now a Halloween costume despite being one of the weirdest sketches ever. And I have Cha Cha Slide on a YT playlist of my favorite SNL sketches. Great list! edit: I forgot to add that I also love all of the "Bring it on down to __Ville" sketches 😁
David S Pumlkin was unfortunately ruined by Leslie Jones. Otherwise yes it was very odd
Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze were definitely my favorites, second were the Roxbery guys.
To me there's nothing better, funnier and memorable than single ladies
I watched it 3 times to see each guy do their thing, it’s so FUNNY!!! 🤣
@@GigiButterflie 😂😂😂😂
And they did it in high heels. Great stuff!
@@sheila623 Exactly, I know I couldn't 😂
Yes. #2 after Chippendales for sure ❤️
Another couple of favorites were Dirty Square Dancing (Swayze) and Hot Tub (Eddie Murphy as James Brown)
2021 and I just now learned that Cha-Cha Slide is an actual song
I loved the French Cafe with Taron Killim, and Bobby Moynihan!
Dancing in the Dark should have been #1 just because of Gilda ❤
My favorite that is not mentioned, is the Fosse style dance class taught by Christina Applegate
You forgot the sprockets sketch with Kyle mclaughen (sorry for the name mangling) lol
Hahaha, my favorite line in SNL “you are beautiful and angular”. 🤣😂🤣😂
"shprockets". I feel this was in most grade school or high school talent contests of the time.
I will forever love the spartan cheerleaders and Roxbury 😅
The Chippendales was definitely my favorite all time.
