I saw on TikTok that a girl bought a shredder for cardboard and she would shred extra boxes she got from like Amazon or from getting supplies. She used the shreds as crinkle cuts so she didn’t have to buy any and it was recycled. Might be something to think about. I tried it and I love it.
Melting is why I had to re-research and redesign everything. The wild temps in my state make it hard to keep wax stable. So annoying, and I haven't even opened up yet. So thanks, I will give this a try in a test mailing.
I personally don’t! Any extra shipping materials is just overhead costs. It’s just temporary during the hottest parts of summer which luckily doesn’t last too long ❤️
I had to laugh this week when I received a 45lb box of coco apricot via UPS, and the supplier put a “Protect from Heat” sticker. LOL… Right. The slabs are fused together. I guess it’s better than getting a blob.
Thank you Erica this is really helpful especially with the link. I have already wasted a week delaying some orders because Amazon said they had these thermal mailers when they don't,. Frustrating! I hope all is well and you're feeling good these days 😊
Do you include the cost of the heat protection wrap, cost per box, label, packing peanuts and paper to your total retail price for your candles? Im new and starting out. Shipping materials are so expensive and I don't know if i should. What's your intake in that?
I personally don’t but this is completely up to you. For me it’s just cost of goods sold + labor is included in the retail price and anything else is overhead costs
HI ERIKA, THE CARRUGATED BOXES FROM ULINE HOW MUCH IS FOR 100 BOXES? I DONT KNOW WHAT TO BUY BECAUSE IS DIFERENT PRICES AND SOME ARE MORE EXPENSIVES ANOTHER MORE CHEAPS
Main downside of this is that it's metalized polyester, AKA plastic. Meaning it goes directly to the landfill forever. Was very inspired that you only used recyclable materials (honeycomb paper). So disappointed you no longer hold to that standard.
How do you figure out shipping?I always end up sending a separate shipping invoice once I’ve weighed it all out etc…I know there’s any easier way. Lol.
@@hilaryquinn8673 I have a whole shipping playlist on my channel if you want to check it out! Shipping can be really confusing and how to charge for shipping can be even more confusing! I actually created an entire course on this because I know how daunting it is 😅

Erica do you raise the price of candles mailed during the hot weather due to increased packaging costs?
I personally don’t! Any extra shipping materials is just overhead costs. It’s just temporary during the hottest parts of summer which luckily doesn’t last too long ❤️

It’s only temporary during the hottest part of summer. The rest of the year we use all recyclable and biodegradable shipping materials.
