- Reviewing the Oppo Find X5 Pro after two weeks of personal use, including an in-depth camera test checking out the night smarts, video chops and more. With a UK price tag over £1000, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is one of the most expensive smartphones of 2022. But is it also one of the best?
That camera tech is undoubtedly one of the highlights of this flagship mobile. Sony's capable IMX766 sensor is bolstered with 5-axis stabilisation and Oppo's own Marisilicon image processor, for impressive low light photo and video quality. I've been testing the Find X5 Pro's optics for a fortnight so here's my verdict vs the S22 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro Max etc.
Power users will love the battery life and performance here, which is among the best for flagship phones in 2022. Oppo's display is a stunner too although as usual there's no expandable storage or headphone jack. Premium specs round off an excellent package, plus a tough ceramic design.
So are you tempted by the Find X5 Pro? Moreso than that S22 Ultra despite the weaker camera zoom?

Your best review to date, not just one or two things, the whole thing was great from start to finish. I noticed your paired back the quips a little in this video and the phone deserved that.
I think the X3 and x5 back camera hump doesn't get the credit it deserves. It's blended in beautifully. Alien tech from the rear and what looks like the slipperiest phone every made. Much love from 🏴 Keep up the awesome work. 👍🏻

Been using this phone for a wee while now. I got it partly because I have a very young child and it's packed with great features. Using the time lapse to watch her zooming about in her play pen was one thing that was awesome. I also pointed it out the window during a storm and it gives awesome timelapse movies that way too. It seemed pretty expensive but it's not let me down since I got it in August. And oh yeah, it's definately a power users phone.

Good review. Are you sure the models that we will be buying will actually have all that writing on them? I just looked on carphone warehouse and on the back it just says Oppo and Hasselblad like you suggested would be the most sensible option?.

Really cool and advanced phone with all the tech . The fast charging with less damage to battery . The in house image processor, the 5 axis ois, big ultra wide sensor and the huge vapor chamber. All unique features that you usually don't find in other phones .oppo really wanted to make the best phone but that means it costs a ton of money 🤑

So in love with the Xpan mode on the OnePlus 9. Great color and image quality. Thankfully its on the Oppo find X 5 pro.

great review ... so it kinda comes down to you want a pen (S22) or without but funky design (X5) - other specifics look similar... although vroom vroom charging on the X5 :)
What about the thermal values in daily usage? Is there any overheating issue?

Have been testing a iPhone XS Max to get a feel for iPhones as I vowed never to have one. I’ve always been an android man. Always had Samsung but have been checking into the oppo find x5 pro. But I must say I’m being converted to iPhone and I’m thinking of going for the iPhone 13 pro when I’m due an upgrade in September. Any advice?
are you ware if you can set the home page on this phone ? om my A52 I have screen to the left and to the right , cannot see a way to add screens to the left on oppo or choose what screed is home ?

Hi, is there a setting I'm missing to make the Oppo X5 Pro camera work better? I bought the Oppo on this review but the camera is very very poor quality compared to my old Huawei P30 pro. I thought it was going to be amazing after seeing all the reviews but its so poor.

Does the Find X3 have the telezoom better? and microscope... but its an amazing stuff the Night video/pics, and the stabilizer. Im thinking about moving from my Find X2 PRo to this.. or maybe i will wait a bit longer, giving a chance to the Find X3... while waiting. Very good review. Subscribed :)
I have the find x3 pro after having a find x2 pro. X3 has android 12/coloros 12. I don't think the x3 pro is appreciably much better than the x2 pro tbh. For me, the camera on the x2 pro was better.

I'm really glad they improved on the bettery life this time around, because the X3 Pro was absolutely terrble, and it degraded badly in just an year of use
Yeah I had one and it wasn't great. Also wonder if the 65W wired charging (didn't have wireless charging from memory) ends up degrading the battery faster over time.

Please review the oppo find X5 lite. You were the only English review of the X3 lite ( that was worth watching).
Always entertaining videos. I have been considering this as I want to get away from the Samsung AI enhanced ecosystem. Plus the cost of them doesn't really justify them much these days.

Looks nice, it's a shame they dropped the 5x periscope zoom they have on the Find X2 Pro. 2x zoom on a phone that costs over £1000 RRP (at the time of this video) is not good
I didn't know it was dropped as I'm still early in the video. That's killed my own interest in the handset. It looks great in every other way, but I love my detailed zoomed shots.
honestly its such a good phone but for £100 more you can literally get the samsung galaxy s22 ultra which has a pen, and literally better everything compared to this
Yeah, I have a phone upgrade coming up, and that and the loss of storage were real disapointments for me with this. My wife and I love travelling, animal parks etc, and I had got some brilliant quick photos with my Find X2 Pro. I'd instantly thought; great, I'll just go for Oppo's newest flagship this time around, only to find they have nerfed it in several regards. Real shame, as otherwise it sounds like a really solid phone. Many people not used to more probably won't care; but the Periscope lens on the Find x2 Pro was FANTASTIC (in fact I often think it is better than the standard lens), and I would really miss losing that functionality, so much so I may just go for the Samsung this time around.

@@SmiffyIrons exynos is worse than snapdragon but both chips are already overkill for 99.9% of the stuff you do daily. i actually got a refurbished s21 ultra for £600 on amazon (£500 for the 128gb version) and i'm literally still satisfied with the 1 year old exynos. would really recommend doing that if you want a new phone for amazing value

I'm gonna look at upgrading the X2 pro. But keep the X2 knocking about just for its zoom! EE have a great pre order package... I'll await the price per month before I commit. I don't want to pay S22 ultra prices but I fear given the RRP of this it'll be close...
The EE price for the X3 Pro was utterly outstanding... taking away the price of the equal package I was already on (over 24 months), and the value of the stuff in the preorder bundle (Watch, Charger and Case), I paid less than £200 for the phone...

Struggling to choose between Google pixel 6/pro, and the Oppo Find X5/pro. Mostly used for general use, camera and gaming. The price difference per month isn't too hefty, so wondering if the Oppo is the better choice? Keep seeing conflicting things!

6:29 that is very impressive, Its an give in I am going for the Find X5 Pro I currently have the Reno Z4 and have not had any issues with it what so ever not once have I had to send it back for hardware/Screen replacements under warranty OPPO really have done it justice I will never go back to an Samsung friend got the new S22 Ultra feww weeks ago already has had to go back to samsung for replacement so for me I see no change on that front same issues with there phones as the 7-8-9 Versons Me no risk it OPPO all the way

2. What's the weight of the device?
3. You didn't mention that because of the operating system, all games are capped at 60 fps.
4. There's a 360 NFC implemented in the device, you didn't mention it.
5. Same with the water resistance(?) not sure about that one actually..

Great phone love it coming from Samsung s21 ultra but the only fault I found when watching videos it's very quiet
