  • Last Session out. All was going well, confidence higher. Going quicker on corners. Getting good lean angle.
    Then Crashed it on last corner before home straight, appears to be cause by an earlier roll on from what i can tell.
    Oh well time to fix bike and get back out learning.

    Broadford is great track! I always stick to the inside of the track for a better camber. Cheers

      yeah are awesome fun. I get excited watching this vid and need to go out again. I've sold this bike now only a week ago. Aim to get another soon. to build one pike dads would be the best 👌. modernised slightly.

    Hey, thanks for the vid. Only done one track day at broadford and that off camber, climbing corner..is interesting! It seems you got on the throttle a little too early and heavy. Could be wrong but that's what I see. Ride on!

    Looks to me like there was little throttle chopping which messed up the weight distribution small bit. Scary that something rather minor can cause a crash. Glad you're fine

    Took my bike there as well, first time on the track and ALMOST CRASHED at the same corner!! Felt the front end shift right as I was going over the summit... It's a little hill ;) The front must loose a bit of traction as you go over the top just before you straighten out ... Was shitting myself for the next lap, then went wide on off the track at the same spot as I did t want the front to loose traction... Hope not too much damage - lesson learned!

    Did that track yesterday and I was slow throughout. We had one guy crashing in that corner exactly the same way. He was alright , the bike looked bad. It's got a weird camber going up to the crown and then down!

    Have you learned to shift without the clutch? It makes smoother shifts and less to think about when riding hard. Sorry about the crash.

    Maybe a little early on the gas, that corner can be tricky, as you said in your comments earlier last session of the day I hardly go out I'm knackered by then. love your comment at the end. FUCK!
    Hey what's with the vest?

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  8 років тому

      gday mate cheers. yeah i was going alot harder than previous times around. had alot more confidence, just pushed to hard. think it was a combination of errors. deleted the other vids as they didnt get many views and abit boring...
      The vest was just to identify the group from the other group that was out there during same time.

    To me I heard something start scrapping the ground. Don't know if it was your knee slider or foot peg but that looks like that is what caused it. Unlucky but glad to here your getting right back on! And use those brakes! You're barely tapping into what they can do!

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  8 років тому

      cheers mate yeah first time on track. yeah foot peg and edge of boot scrapping. I'm getting bike over enough judging my Tyre wear and scrapes. I'll get there. 👌

    • @seventysevencats
      @seventysevencats 6 років тому

      That was what I thought, a peg touching down... but all the comments points to the camber when reaching the top of the hill.

    great video!! unfortunate for the ending tho :( how that happen? lean too low n scrap the pegs?

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah i was scrappin pegs. Few other factors to. Pressures, faster than other times, body postion not 100%. Got over confident.

  • @CyberGasty
    @CyberGasty 6 років тому +1

    Looking at the video I do not hear much of the roll on. You were steady on the gas roll on, rather neutral then quick roll on. For me it was more of the rear tyre that became greasy if overheated (you said it was your last session) and you lost it. Or too much lean angle if you do not have rear-sets, since your pegs were scraping.

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  6 років тому +1

      Cyber Gasty . Gday mate. Merry christmas. Left side turns is the least on that track. Pretty much that was the only real one.. Maybe front not enough heat.
      Realistically it was a combination of a few things. No rear sets yeah... body position. Not seen in vid but in my view was not 100%. Pegs scrapping yeah. Tyre pressure. Shattering watching my bike go down, but was a great day.. i would love to get another bike for track use and get back out..

    • @CyberGasty
      @CyberGasty 6 років тому +2

      Merry X-mas to you as well. If you want to get back, that is only a decision to make. Regarding watching bike go down, I saw 4 of my bikes going down in the past 15 years. Not to mention injuries (on the road).... but I continued. No need to get hurt or push over your limits, but track is a very addictive drug and so much fun.

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  6 років тому +2

      Cyber Gasty yeah very addictive...i get withdrawals watching this vid lol. i had a ball that day. I repaired the bike. No issues getting back on etc.. ended up selling only based on cashflow at the time. Next bike will just be track to avoid that extra rego/insurances.

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  5 років тому

      @Jason McAllister Hi mate..yeah sucks sometimes i think everyone at some point will come off on the track. All the guys i know who are really good riders still have offs. thanks for the comment. Broadford is in Victoria Australia.

      @@koontproductions Why I bought a dedicated track bike!!!

  • @claudiobonetti8862
    @claudiobonetti8862 4 роки тому +1

    That corner is very deceptive. It turns into an off camber corner at the exit. Most people power on mid corner and get caught out.

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah was my first time out. Had a ball though.. would like to get back out again.. but dedicated track bike.

      @@koontproductions That's what I've done, a lot cheaper on repairs, especially when you buy an older bike.

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  7 років тому +1

      imsash i hope they walked away ok with nothing to serious. Was it a similar fall or did the rear kick out for a high side..

    • @imsash
      @imsash 7 років тому +1

      koontproductions it was a low side he was in front of me ... it looked like his front washed out ... he walked away no injuries ... it sucks when you drop the bike but best place to stack is the track ... I have done it few times my self ....

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  7 років тому +1

      yeah same as me then. yeah I was happy it was there and not on the road. awesome track though. I was shattered when I dropped mine.. had all the repsol fairings back on to. swapped back from my matt black setup.

    • @rogerburman4211
      @rogerburman4211 6 років тому

      imsash agree, wasn’t too much lean angle, something upset the front, if pegs were scraping that would do it for sure. Glad to see rider was ok

    were tyer pressures ok?

  • @adiscomedia2306
    @adiscomedia2306 5 років тому +1

    Well seeing as you were scraping foot peg id guess that you were leaning the bike over too much while you werent using your body to lean down enough. Thats my 2c for you to improve. Use your body more so you lean the bike less. Also stickier tires.

    @jimamizzi1 8 років тому

  • @PoMu4
    @PoMu4 3 роки тому

    • @DanielBrain
      @DanielBrain 3 роки тому +1

      Kinda looks like adding throttle and lean at the same time.

  • @pahaf1991
    @pahaf1991 8 років тому

    how did that happen?

    • @koontproductions
      @koontproductions  8 років тому

      dunno mate. only difference that I can see was the increase in speed.. it was a brand new front tyre. it was scrubbed in but I don't have tyre warmers.. there was plenty of heat in the tyres though as when we lifted bike up to load it onto the trailer it was still picking up stones.
      so haven't really be able to work it out.. suspension is stiffer than standard road use. set for my 96kg weight. I was going through that corner comfortable every lap. I was just going quicker that time from others..unless body position wasn't right.

      +Paul Fursov yeah mate I had a ball. rebuilding bike. hanging to get back out on it. yeah I'm fine just bounced then slid. not injuries so good effort.
