- Will some of the figures I've bought go on the shelves or are they destined for the customizing bins? Does Robo just do this to open a bunch of toys at the same time? Either way is fine and fun! For Blue Senturion, the tiny accessory is a police whistle. And the 'datacard' is the gun/baton (they're the same weapon, it just transforms between modes in the show) folded up for storage in the holster. Now there's one less thing that Robo don't know lol

Mara Jade was one of my most wanted characters to be brought to Black Series, so I pre-ordered her as soon as they went up. I'm so happy with her, she's currently right between Palpatine and Thrawn on my Empire shelf.
With Darth Malgus coming the only characters left on my wishlist now are Starkiller and Kyle Katarn
SK and Kyle are at the top of mine as well! A Deluxe Droideka is right behind them
"Shadows of The Empire" figures would be something I'd enjoy. Dash Rendar, a new sculpt brown mountain Wampa that they had in the game, Prince Xixor etc.
Im an import collector but non anime female figures that look good are hard to come by. Shes a great figure that holds up great even compared to import figures 2x the price!
All I could think about with the Owlbear was a Snowbird transformation. Still waiting for Snake-Eyes to go on sale so I can get "Timber" for the same reason.
Mars Jade’s face looks a lot like Rebecca Ferguson and I love it. She’s probably one of the most underrated actresses working today
I grabbed Blue Senturion, because I like the conceit of the original Sentai version of the character, where he's known as "Signalman" (because of the specifically Japanese traffic signal motif with blue lights), and he's pretty much an intergalactic traffic cop. Also grabbed the Owlbear, it's surprisingly hefty.
Conceit?
Mara Jade has mad Famke Janssen vibes going on. It hit me right when you said she probably looks like someone 😂

Finally! Someone worthy of taking off hyperion's chasity belt! Perfect for larger ML characters.
For the owl for the owl bear you can turn around the neck piece so it can look down more (have the painted part of it on the chest)
I attempted a turn but it seemed to crash on the shoulders, I guess I need to try it again?

Blue Centurion could easily fit in the Judge Dredd/2000A.D. Universe.
The Gargoyles are a great line of figs. They take up space but are all looking great. The OwlBear reminds me of a creature from a Ray Harryhausen movie. As always , another great fun reviewish "Fig or Fodder"
Using the Owlbear for Snowbird is a cool concept. She’s turned into a bear, an owl, and I think the Owlbear would occur when she’s transported to another planet/universe and realize she can’t turn into the normal shapeshift she takes, but realize she can become something else and more dangerous.
I'm not super familiar with Mara Jade, but the character concept and design is cool, and I figured it would look good in my Star Wars heroes display, plus at the time there wasn't a lot that'd been announced that interested me so I figured why not go for a deeper cut character. That said, once I slid it out the package before even unwrapping it I did feel a bit underwhelmed with what I got for the price. That along with the hair restricting movement and the slight awkwardness with getting the hands to hold the accessories left me a bit underwhelmed overall. It's still an okay figure, it looks great alongside other figures on the shelf, I just hate feeling underwhelmed about any figure, especially now with price hikes making me cut back and be more selective.
Honestly its an overpriced figure but Im used to overpaying as an import collector and its one of the rare good looking female facesculpts ive seen in a domestic figure.
That gargoyle could be a Sauron for those of us that missed the original 🤔
That hyperion body is surprisingly impressive and promising. Im always trying to find mt perfect Jim Lee, MvC Magneto thats just super broad, and thats got potential. It would be nice of Hasbro would reuse it in general though
The warrior gorilla looks like he could be one of gorilla grood's guards
I'm pretty sure that thing you plugged in the holster is a collapsed down version of his gun/baton. That's if I'm remembering correctly. Blue Senturian was the sole reason I sat thru episodes of Turbo.
OMG the Blue Senturion would look so good on the ML sky cycle. Like a Robot cop in the future.

The owl bear beast coukd also work in a Star Wars display imo. The galaxy is big place and it's not too far off from a Wampa, maybe it's a distant cousin.

I grew up with Power Rangers, but I don't remember Blue Centurion. To me, he's just a neat cop robot, so... army builder. Lightning Collection goes on clearance pretty often, so I might grab 2 or 3. Speaking of, General Thane looks really cool, especially the paint. But... oh my Grodd, that's good custom fodder for when we get a nice 1:12 scale Flash. If not as Grodd, then as his army!
Mara Jade is just a cool figure, so that's one that I might just grab for what it is. On sale, though, because she is really expensive for coming with so little!
Yeah, I'd use Blue Centurion as a generic robot cop army builder.

General Thane looks like he would fit in a DC shelf as part of Gorilla Grodd's army or something.
That smooth abs on Hyperion do look more realistic than those super defined abs we see in most figures, but the smooth crotch and rip ass are painful.
i did the same with that blue centurion figure. i know nothing about it but it looks cool and i got it on clearance. i love it
I've been thinking about grabbing that Squadron Supreme 2-pack to use Hyperion as a base for an Icon custom, but I think the fact that he has pancake ass is a dealbreaker on that one 😆
Hyperion - needs more bulk. And Futurama teaser also makes fun of Fry’s flat booty.
PR Centurian - I wish I had caught him on clearance at Target. Looks just generic enough to fit in anywhere.
Brooklyn - I’m so far behind on this line, I’m *just* now getting Demona. 🤦♂️

OwlBear - yeah, her selling point is Snowbird.
Thane - more Optimus Primal than the movie figure. I’m surprised you didn’t mention it.

General Thane could've been good stand-in for Gorilla Grodd or Monsieur Mallah. I wonder if Spero Toys plan on making any female figures for Animal Warriors of the Kingdom, could love a cheetah warrior 👀
Spero has shown prototypes for female figures, but they are probably waiting to ship out the current figures before they shift their focus to the next waves.

ThE Japanese Car Rangers episodes where Signal Man shows up are a fun watch. I was too old for the Power Rangers when they came out but the Signal Man episodes play very much tongue in cheek if you grew up with any Sentai show. Almost a parody. Worth a watch.

I used Mara Jade's had for a custom Black Widow, had to do a little work to get the head to fit.

I’m bias to the blue Centurion. Mainly when I was a kid when turbo just started they released the original figure before he ever showed up in the show. And I thought he was the cooler looking one from that original line so I spent my saved up allowance for him lol. 😄
The small piece with the Blue Senturion is a communicator.
I got Blue centurion for 2.88 clearance at target, my first power ranger anything and i love him so much i grabbed the silver motorcycle ranger set for 12 bucks. Its hard to resist such good deals

Signalman aka Blue Centurion actually is a fun character. Though the original sentai we find out he has a Wife and son back on his home world. Also he has been turned evil twice and the chest lights turned black. He had a motorcycle and a car thats his robo.
That Owlbear is cool and I'd just have as something heroed would battle easy. .

I think I'm going to get some black Cosclay and make a furry pelvic overlay for one of my General Thanes and with the way the bicep has a swivel at top and bottom maybe even make a new part for a completely unarmored look. I friggin love that figure.

If you use that Hyperion for Doc Samson. Doesn't he usually wear jeans? The GI Joe figures have easily removable rubbery crotch pieces. Maybe you could use that to help out Hyperion in the butt packing department

Mara Jade is an interesting character in my opinion, in the sense that I think she was perfectly characterized in first appearance in Heir to the Empire, Chef's Kiss, 10 out of 10, but her characterization became worse and worse with every new book that Timothy Zahn wrote where she showed up, which is a really weird situation, as the opposite is what usually happens.
