- This is something that has been in progress for a LONG time. I present to you a remix that I made completely re-recording the instrumental with the same instruments, using only the filtered vocals. This required a lot of research and attention to detail, it's not that simple to find the exact same timbres that the band and producers used at the time, and it still didn't sound as similar as I wanted! But anyway, it was finally finished.
No samples from the original song, rebuilt from scratch. The remix was inspired by the 80s remixes that DOA released, with abrupt cuts and different mixing from the album versions.

AMAZING! You captured the spirit and energy of the song perfectly. In 1985 I was a teenager dancing in the nightclubs in California , and they played almost every song from the album and crowd went ABSOLUTELY WILD everytime.

If Cake And Eat It had ever been released as a single and an extended version had been considered, I would have liked this (re)mix. It's about 2 minutes longer, and you don't even notice its length. There are extended versions, also by many other artists, where some parts just sound drawn out. Here, however, it feels natural, as if SAW had produced the mix themselves.

This has always been my favorite Dead or Alive song. Always loved the arrangement and of course Pete's vocals. What you have done is beyond brilliant.
