They started their careers before Brandy came along. Brandy got to work with her one of her biggest idols and influences who was Whitney. Now she’s working with another member of the vocal trinity (regardless of past or present day) that she has looked up to and admired and has learned from her. Brandy is incredible in her own right and that cannot be taken from her but there were a few things that she didn’t know that MC has been doing for years. As much as I love all three of those ladies, I have never heard any of them play with a time signature in the middle of a phrase within the song other than MC. That is a different kind of artistry and that’s just one thing that comes to mind off top.
