- OH MY GOODNESS. Today I’m following my very first ever makeup tutorial!! This was actually a really fun video to film (even though it was a bit awkward lol). It was cool to look back on the way I used to do my makeup and the products I loved almost 4 years ago!! I hope you all enjoy the video and I hope you find it to be entertaining haha. i apply foundation with my hand everyday for the past 4 years ! sponges takes so much product away ... but with ur fingers u wouldn t need much and it will apply so smoothly

How do you get it to look good around your nose? I love doing foundation with my fingers, but my nose always looks best with a beauty blender.

I actually love applying full coverage foundations with my fingers! I feel like the warmth of my fingers make it look more natural. I own foundation brushes and sponges, but sometimes its just the vibe ya know?

I only discovered your channel a few months ago, but after seeing this, I wish I knew about it back when you started! Sometimes UA-camrs have made me feel inadequate for not being professional with my skills or products. Can't follow a tutorial if I don't have the tools or products.
I love how realistic you were in your OG video. Using a broken powder, not having a beauty blender, and applying foundation and concealer with your fingers... yet ending up with a flawless, beautiful look! It's reassuring to us simpler people that it's ok not to be perfectionist or makeup snob and still enjoy getting dolled up. :)

I prefer applying my base makeup with my hands! Full disclosure, though- I’m a sheer to light coverage kinda girl. I’m also somewhat of a minimalist😂 I know it’s not for everyone, but it works for me!

8:01 "foundation pebbles" omg I'm laughing so hard 😂😂 I have done the same thing just to use a powder up. You were so cute! You shouldn't be embarrassed of the video. All youtubers start out different and struggle to reach the point where they're comfortable being themselves instead of putting on the show of being super bubbly and energetic. What a fun and nostalgic video! I was certainly intrigued over the techniques from your early UA-cam days to your currently shared applications. I do test out new (not necessarily new on the market but new to me) foundations by applying with fingers though I have found some desperately need the help of a blending sponge for flawless application. Again loved this video so thank you Allie for reminiscent of your early days. Absolutely adore you!! 😊❤
Anastasia brow definer made your brows look so good and so natural. I think it’s so much better than the brow pencils you usually use.
Hey girl! I absolutely love this video! I personally hate applying foundation with my fingers on myself just because my skin is so dry that I find a damp beauty blender is better because it adds some moisture. Love you!
I've been using the NYX bare with me tinted skin veil for months now, and I've found that applying lighter foundations/tinted moisturizers with my hands/fingers works soooooo much better for me than a brush or sponge. So I've been using my hands to apply the skin veil and then a sponge for the concealer and I've been happy with how it looks 🥰

I actually really love this eyelook Allie! I enjoy watching all the beautiful looks you create but this is something that I would wear since I'm not a big eyeshadow person. While watching this video I went and ordered a MAC paintpot in groundwork because it looks like such a pretty shade even to wear on its own. Thank you for such a fun video, I had a good laugh.

I always end up applying foundation with my hands. I do have quite a few brushes and a couple of sponges but somehow it feels like I do it faster and it blends better with my skin.
6:30 I still apply all my base products with my hands! I'm a natural glowy coverage type of gal, and I find when I apply my BB cream with a brush or a sponge, it takes away a lot of that glow as well as makes it sit less naturally on my skin (faster too!). Same with concealer and I don't use powder.

This was so fun to watch! As for the question you posed, most of my life I applied foundation with my fingers. Now I fluctuate between my fingers and a beauty blender. The reasons vary... sometimes it's because of the foundation, sometimes it's because applying with fingers is faster, but for the most part it's simply about whatever I feel like doing in the moment. 😉

I bought blenders, brushes, etc and found out that I actually prefer using my fingers for foundation and concealer.
I love this. My “go to” makeup was the dream matte mousse foundation applied with my hands, cover girl powder applied with the puff it comes with. Black and white eyeshadow applied with my fingers and the little sponges eyeshadow came with, and mascara.
I just started using bronzer, brow products, highlight, and tools a few years ago. Maybe 3 years? Lol
I looked many youtubers recently, I just got into make up, so I'm really into looking videos.. And you seem most kindest and nicest in my opinion.. Congrats for your almost 4 years journey, you're great. :) So don't be embarrassed , but proud on your journey.

In the mid ‘80’s to mid 2000’s, that was the only wAy i applied foundation. Sometimes I’d use those cheap disposable sponges
Me too! Then I got my first foundation brush from Estee Lauder & haven't looked back. I always hated getting foundation on my fingers!

I still apply foundation like tnat in 2020, it varies for me, mousse foundation I'll use an "egg" sponge, the balm tinted moisturiser ill jse6a brush, and otner liquid foundation ill use fingers
Girl we all did. And I used the super long black wet and wild eyeliner! And only on the bottom and not the waterline either. My boss still does her eyeliner like that. Drives me nuts. It does nothing but look like a fat black line.
I have loads of foundation beauty blenders and brushes but it looks so much more natural and pretty if I apply it with my hands. I use revlon colour match and it's a nice medium coverage and perfect for school! I notice if I use a brush it an leave streak marks and by using a beauty blender it can leave texture and sponge marks on your face. I like to look as close as I can to flawless and in my opinion fingers are the way to go! x
