There is nothing like big band disco and especially with strings. This music was not played that much during the disco era which I could not understand. John Davis and The Monster Orchestra was another outstanding group. The sound of The Salsoul Orchestra was REALLY unique. To this day, I still love it!!!!
The Salsoul orchestra was the baby brother of Mfsb and Mr Montana was 1of the pilots I know I was there and their the structure of Disco .Shaft is the foundation 4on the floor ballroom dance and PARTY !!!!!!!
On planet earth, a human being cannot be anymore legendary than Vince Montana. And indeed, his music will live ever.
Great job Vince!! Everyone in the Philly area misses this sound.
Using the violins along with the brass and of course his great Vibes Sound was pure genius!
A beautiful tribute to your Dad!!!
How can this not have more likes. The world is upside-down in so many ways
*Great tribute. Kind regards from The Netherlands. Philly fan for life.*
One of the most important, and most underappreciated, composers in the history of popular music. Montana Jr is behind a large number of huge songs from the 70s but doesn't get the credit he deserves.
When I was a kid I really loved this music, and it got me to DJ, I took this music for granted, never knew how much work and skill Vince montana had, the man is the greatest, it's a shame there's nothing in Philly to give him his much deserved thanks for putting Philly on the map.
Thank you for posting this tribute to such a wonderful and gifted man! His music will live on forever.
Vince Montana's music is unmistakable. Trinidad & Tobago.
Mr. Vincent Montana Jr. i will continue to play your music. R I P MITCHELL THOMAS 5 8 2022

This is pretty much my favorite vid on all of UA-cam. I watch it all the time and get a little teared up. I never knew him, but he’s a hero for all musicians.
Thank you. What a great tribute to a genuine musical genius. Vince's music has been such an important part of my life and continues to bring me joy in a way that can't be explained...it's almost spiritual. He indeed lives forever through his music.

I swear to DISCO, I feel the same when, I hear the violin
I agree, the violins make my spirit soar every time. Disco fan here in this life and in the afterlife!
@@obear3000 oh DISCO
Salsoul still rules....
To Vinny in tribute r.i.p. I must forever paid my love of his kind now my kind of music, the utmost respect a moment of silent ,knowing Vincent (I wish I wouldve had the pleasure) love of music never a second of silence if it's music to be heard with STRINGS attached that's what made Mr. Montana and that orchestra MFSB state of the art by far never be duplicated.Of course he be missed but it's that orchestra second to none ,unique sound of Philly, Philadelphia I Love U Too! that came and now been long gone staying ahead of time .Like it or not Vinny a moment of silence you get from me with the music turned down to a low, low with the strings attached.I say stay home, don't bother or waste your time if the strings aren't attached.
