After seeing this video of heres doing it better the mark knocker him self about 7 months ago, in that time I learned the whole song including the solo and played the whole solo infront of 7,000 people at a concert in my town for a competition and won and im 14 years old im coming back to this video now to tell you how much this video helped me in my guitar journey (I’ve been playing guitar for years before I saw this)

i grew up listening dire straight and mark knopfler and i'm a huge fan of them. for me this is the best version but also the best interpretation I've ever heard on UA-cam. Congratulations
I really don't want to show off and be a braggart, but i think i have one of the biggest collection of ds/mk-bootlegs around and so i have listend to live versions of TR and any other DS songs that were played from 78 on - but nothing even comes close to the genuine ds-sound like your playing! It's outta this world!
Please do more of this amazing stuff! Maybe some day you'll like to pick some of mk's solo songs? Or Brothers in arms or or or - man, the catalogue is so damn huge :D

That Nimes show was incredible. I remember watching it on Muchmusic here in Canada when I was a kid. Chris Whitten was one of my biggest influences as a drummer. So nice to see that music getting some attention on youtube!
