Rimmy, the Lancaster SMG was *designed* for airbase guards, but hillariously took so long to procure that the sten was ready by the time they got the Lancasters and so the RAF refused to pay for them, and they went to the Royal navy instead, where they were used in boarding actions, guarding ships at harbour, and prisoner transfer. Not a great war record, but they did see some limited use, and had a 50 round mag and would take any type three Lee-Enfield bayonet, including the old 17 inch 1907 bayonet, which must have been fucking terrifying for both user and enemy in the confined spaces of a ship. But yeah, fuck enlisted.
I think it was fired in that role. I recall a story of a German captain swimming out to his UBoat to scuttle it and the British guards firing at him. Granted iirc this was like 43,44, so it was probably Stens or Thompson’s and not a Lancaster but there is a chance.
So as far as I know, the Lanchester was pretty much used extensively in one specific battle: The Landings on D-Day by the Special Service Brigades, aka the Royal Commandos and Royal Marine Commandos. I'm mostly familiar with the Canadian Commandos, there's a photo of a Canadian Commando carrying the chonker in 1944, but if requested I can try to send more documentation for the British on Sword and Gold Beach. However, this is pretty much in line with the janky ass equipment that the Commandos received, with things like M1928 Thompsons with Drum Mags heading into Normandy, the commander of the 1st Special Service Brigade carrying an M1 Carbine, etc.
@@2ltsierra417 Yeah, handing out random janky stuff to the commandos and just leaving them to it was for a long time a proud tradition across the commonwealth. I wasn’t aware they used Lancaster’s at D-Day, but frankly it wouldn’t surprise me.

We have WWII FPS with vehicles that have italians, we have the ones portraying Battle of France and Winter War. And yet people notice only Battlefield and CoD. Maybe it's not WWII shooters who are a problem?
I'm not going to complain too much about the editing as per the description, I'll just say that this new editor really needs to go back to square one and figure out what makes a Rimmy video a Rimmy video, cause it sure as hell isn't random "meme" edits and audio from a Fortnite channel. These two vids seriously makes me doubt this new editor even went through the effort to do so in the first place.
I'm glad people are speaking on the editing, because it lets me know what changes need to be made. However, this video was actually edited BEFORE the SCP video, so the feedback from that wasn't included in this edit. It just happened that the SCP video was scheduled to release before this one. nice video but there's a lot of unnecessary sound effect in the edit
It’s full of bugs but goddamn it’s good when it doesn’t bug
I hope the newer edits from the company work better, as this is a major step in relieving me from the constant pressure of editing to let me work on bigger edits like the False Flag video etc.
@@RimmyDownunder i hope this is just a copy paste response as I think I made it clear that I had read the description and was referencing the SCP video.
My real "worry" is about this new editor making seemingly no effort in studying and replicating your style, I'd be kinda pissed personally if I hired someone to help me with editing only to find out they didn't do their homework at all. Hope this is a wakeup call for them and that your future cooperation will turn out better, good luck!
yes this game finnaly is alive
I bought this game because of this video and I really like it.
In all fairness what other smg were they supposed to give britain
Thompsons and Stens. Lanchester was used only by RAF, Royal Navy and maybe Royal Marine commandos
@@histhoryk2648 the sten is the other smg in the game iirc and the Thompson is.. fair enough. But not from britain and already in the game
It's already better than Enlisted, due to not being published by Gaijin :p
Because of this video and a well timed steam sale I got this game.
I'm a little bit concerned how much was Rimmy enjoying playing for powers of axis and meat grinding Americans with MG... :D
As an Italian I am happy
finally I can be at peace
lmao
Oh thank god, now i can play multiplayer.
Thanks for bringing in the players for me to send to the kid friendly camps rimmy
Funny, I was thinking about getting this game. Great to see you take a try at it.
There’s nowt wrong with the Lanchester, it takes the 1907 pattern bayonet, your opinion is invalid. At some point a kriegsmarine waster would have surrendered to a RN sailor with a literal sword attached to his submachine gun and that makes be proud to be British.
Rimmy Sundower's Moment
"KIDS A CRUEL, DIGBY..."
Dunno 'bout this one chief, bit much on the editing side.
And that is... not a compliment.
I think I picked this up because it was $5 and it has co-op.
I expected terrible, and ended up with one of my new favorite shooters. It's like call of duty 2 got a bunch of modern features and some... almost decent squad AI.
Tried to get into this game but the awful weapon handling killed me inside every time
That's because you want the inaccurate yet easy and stable handling of an arcady shooter like Enlisted
@@Russell970 I actually quite like games like squad and RS2 and their tough handling, in fact the weapons just felt unsatisfying and light in ER2, strangely I prefer ER1's handling.
you can report it to the developer as he listens to everyone's feedback
Speaking of Enlisted recently had a match in the Berlin campaign where the my team (USSR) stormed the final point in overtime and won
lmao no wonder people hate enlisted
Better than Enlisted? I'll be the judge of that
*Sees that planes are actually flyable and not made of paper*
Definitely better than Enlisted.
Rimmy I am loving these transitions; they feel hipstery
on the lanchester smg; the more ridiculous thing about it being an unlock is that it's just an MP28 clone. It was used only by the RN and RAF.
I suppose it's better than the sten in the sense that the ergonomics are probably far superior by virtue of actually having a grip and stock.
