- In this comprehensive video update, we delve into the latest developments in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. As the autumn transitions into winter, the Ukrainian military faces new challenges, and their efforts to counter Russian advances are under scrutiny.
The video explores the strategic dynamics of this conflict, detailing how both Ukrainian and Russian military forces have adapted to the changing conditions. We examine the Ukrainian counteroffensive operations and the formidable obstacles they encounter in the Zaporizhia oblast. Despite their determination, achieving a decisive breakthrough remains elusive, as they grapple with Russian minefields and well-fortified defensive positions.
The narration highlights the various fronts in this war, from the Dnipro River to North Luhansk and Donbas. It discusses the intense battles and counterattacks taking place, shedding light on the successes and setbacks faced by both sides. Notably, we analyze a major Russian offensive in the Avdiivka section and the subsequent Ukrainian response, which inflicted significant losses on the Russian army.
The video also delves into the critical aspect of international support for both Ukraine and Russia. We assess the contributions of several countries, especially Western allies, in terms of military aid and assistance, emphasizing the focus on bolstering Ukraine's air defense capabilities for the upcoming winter.
Furthermore, the video touches on the complexities of international diplomacy, including the impact of the conflict between Israel and Hamas on the allocation of resources and aid to Ukraine. We discuss the concerns and challenges regarding the continuation of military support for Ukraine, particularly in the face of changing priorities in Washington.
Lastly, the video provides an insightful breakdown of the visually confirmed losses of equipment suffered by both sides, as reported by the Oryx blog, offering a quantitative perspective on the conflict's toll.
Join us as we analyze the ongoing Ukraine conflict, providing you with a well-rounded understanding of the current situation, the strategic intricacies, and the international factors at play. Stay informed and up-to-date on this pressing global issue.

What is the percentage of losses, to what they have total. roughly
Can you make a different way to earn this. May be like getting 10 people to sub
As someone who is Bosnian, European white and Muslim who survived the aggression against the state, genocide in Srebrenica alone. I feel sorry for all the innocent people and I feel sorry for anyone who dies for politics.
For now, I am on Russia's side because it is on the side of Palestine and on the Muslim side while Zelensky supports the killing of Muslims. Ukrainians came to Bosnia to kill Muslim Serbs, as did Greeks and some Russians. So because of Zelensky and things like that, I don't support Ukraine. Then the West does not want to say and admit that there is a Nazi party and a Nazi battalion of AZOV in Ukraine.
If we have the rough number of losses for Russian forces, shouldn’t we also have it for Ukrainian forces?
Thanks
Seems like every modern war without either side having air superiority will end in a stalemate...
That's where the delayed effect of US fighter jets will come into play. Pilots need to be trained on them which will take time, but when the F-16s enter the skies, they should tip the scales in favor of Ukraine in terms of air superiority. Ukraine first and foremost needs to hold out until then. The war's not won just because of shiny new old planes, war ebbs and flows and Russia can always find a way to turn it around, but if they're in a stalemate now, what will better equipment do for Ukraine when it finally starts getting deployed?
@@raetekusu1 Disagreed Non-stealth planes like F-16 will not be able to breach the anti-air cover both sides have
Basically yeah
Without overwhwlming number advantage, navy assistance or air superiority it becomes a war of attrition
Ww1 is what modern war of evenly matched sides becomes without aircraft
Having air superiority implies also having ground superiority, because if the ground is contested then anyone with a heat-seeking rocket launcher can take out an aircraft.
Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq?
Thanks for continuing to report on this conflict @KingsandGenerals while the rest of the media has moved on to Israel and Hamas.
at 10:40 Kirby's comments were taken slightly out of context. The context was concerning aid that was already in the pipeline from previous aid packages. It was not referring to any future aid packages. Also it should be noted that some of the previous aid packages are spread out over time into the future so there is still a lot in the pipeline.
Thank you for the clarification, much appreciated.
Very much appreciated. Thanks! Apparently this channel wants to 'chisel reality' so it fits into a certain desired 'shape'...🤔
@@dioghaltasfoirneartach7258 idk This was a really easy one to take out of context and i think it was actually reported that way over some regular media. So this was a very easy one to get wrong i don't think there's anything more to it than that.
@@jasongeringer OK. Fair enough.
It should also be worth mentioning, the republicans tried for 5 months to get a budget passed with Ukraine aid included and the democrats unanimously voted against it each time, it wasn't until the republicans removed the aid as a line item that the democrats voted for it, and then promptly voted to remove the speaker, which has completely stalled all budget and aid talks.
So while yes some of the republicans favor isolationist policies it was the democrats that held up aid and then made it impossible to continue talks to get a budget and more aid flowing while blaming it on the republicans. Classic democrat behavior blame the other side for the problems you created.
Love this channel. You’re knocking it out of the park with the thorough analyses
If only it is true the odd to secure a victory in a war to a defending enemy is 3 or 5 to 1. But if you notice at the end the loss of Ukraine doesn't add up after with all 300+ billion dollar equipment donations. The are still demanding & getting more.
your production quality/analysis is hands down some of the best on the internet.
I wish your information on this conflict wasn’t so heavily biased. It’s a shame because your channel covers so many other conflicts so well. Pretty sure you could’ve titled this “Ukraines Disaster”, as again they’re losing quite a bit more men than the Russians in this battle.
Is that why you still haven't gained ground in months? Against 'old men, children and women'.
I completely agree. Reporting is lopsided. Barely any coverage of Russian gains or Ukraine asset losses. They're very unbiased about wars of the past (especially the further back we go), but as far as this present conflict, I can't help but feel slightly propoganized.
Any ideas on where we can find something less biased, or at the very least, told from the Eastern or Russian perspectives that break it down something close to this?
Well this is a Pro Ukraine channel so be not surprised.
Wow right off the bat you report both fronts! I have a lot of respect for you thank you for your reporting 😊
source for losses please
They're based on reports from both the Russian and Ukranian sides, as well as third party estimates, which is why the number range is so wide. Vehicle losses are based on reports confirmed by satellite photos
What we need to remember is that the Ukrainian army does not have the luxury of combined arms assault as they lack sufficient aircraft to combine with artillery and armor to achieve their breakthrough offensive we have hoped. Our own experience against a sovereign state was Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and the Iraqi military had poor equipment and morale. The Ukrainians have good morale and motivation, and understand the importance of preserving their tanks and armored vehicles from the minefields the Russians laid out. Reports suggest the Ukrainian infantry have made progress in the second line of Russian defense, and commando raids in Crimea and Russian naval targets shows they are creative. The arrival of fighter jets should help in the air war against Russia, and provide close air support for the infantry. This need for air support is the reason that cluster munitions are being used.
The reason for using cluster munitions is that the west simply cannot produce enough ordinary shells, hence the US having to retrieve some of it's strategic stockpiles in Israel to send it to Ukraine. Contrary to western doctrine Russia outproduces the west by 7-1 in artillery shells. (source: Business Insider, September 2023). Another field where the Russians trump the west is that of missile technology and Air-defence and that too is due to military doctrine, that's why Russia (and the Soviets) who could not match NATOs navy and airforce instead opted for submarines, anti-ship and anti-air missiles.
A rock-paper-scissors situation.
IMO Ukraine did the right thing to switch to smaller infantry unit tactics - a tactic the Russians haven't trained for decades to counter.
.
Will it be enough? I doubt it, but we'll see. But no-one can take away the Ukrainians bravery and creativity on the battlefield
@@BalloonInTheBalloon if they receive the fighter jets and additional helicopters for close air support it should make it easier to advance. If they are saving the tanks for the areas after the final defensive line and the Russians lack a strategic reserve, then the advance should be much better.
It greatly depends what the Ukrainians get to go along with their f-16's as well,in the terms of weapons. There's a large amount of air-launched weapons that could be supplied, and we have very little idea what the U.S is willing to give.
@@swordsmith2576that’s as if Russia doesn’t have the best air defense system 😅
I agree, we know that as soon as Ukraine or Russia gets their airforce into combat, tides of the war will change. Air Dominance will be the decider.
WWI style stagnant trench warfare seems set to stay in modern warfare.
As long as the air is completely saturated with drones. The drones take away the "surprise" when amassing bigger numbers for an offensive. If either side changes that, they'll be at an advantage.
Until drone countermeasures start becoming more prevalent then yes
Iran Iraq War had a very simlar war minus the drones.
Algorithm
I think it has more to do with the fact that armored vehicles like tanks are now just used as mobile artillery to support the front from some distance, truth it's that all modern armored vehicles are incredibly vulnerable, they can be killed by almost everything on the battlefield, from drones to portable rockets to mines to planes to helicopters to even precision artillery, so rapid movements like on WW2 are just suicide, the Russians are learning this the hard way, but also when the sword becomes too sharp and the shield does not cover you, trenches are the results

@@babisvdhoofd8011the Russians biggest losses in a single day of the war was the assault on adiivka. And they had those immense losses 3 times in a row. Without taking the city nor stopping Ukraine's offensives.
It had 31.000 inhabitants before the war. Not a villige, but not a city either. By Ukrainian standards it is just a town. With no strategic significance. Without using much resources the Ukrainians have inflicted the largest casualties of the war upon the Russians in terms of both vehicles and manpower. Dwarfing the vuhledar offensive.
@@DanishCamp You probably should widen your sources and not repeat propaganda without reflection.
Why does it seem like Russia is always at a disadvantage in K&G comparisons?
Because they are. They practically never see any victories in offensive movements, except for the few weeks before outside aid started to reach Ukrainian military. Even then it took them how long to take mariopal, which was completely isolated for weeks. They've also lost numerous ships to a country with no navy, and resorted in weaponizing energy resources.
Now they're selling Oil (their largest economic export) at record low prices. Doesn't really scream "advantageous" to me
@@ts5924I like how it went from "Kiev in three days" to "Yes! We took the northern part of the trash heap North of Avdiivka in only 9 years!"
Also, K&G clearly DID show Russia advancing towards that trash heap.
But the losses Russia suffered in that attack are absolutely insane in comparison to that territorial gain.
@@ts5924 "[...] I'm not saying that."
Fair enough. I also didn't mean to imply you did, sorry if it came off this way. I rather wanted to mock Russian ultranationalist talking points.
"having the hights [sic!] and no longer bombing Donetsk"
Neither is true though? Ukraine's still in Avdiivka, supply is still getting there, the Russian plan to encircle hasn't worked (at least, so far). Neither has the plan to cut them off from re-supplying.
I mean, I don't disagree that the ground gained by the Russian Forces on the trash heap is a small tactical and strategic win from a territorial perspective, but was it really worth the massive losses?
"Do you have numbers on casualties?"
Do you mean manpower or equipment? The equipment part is explained in this very video.
Particularly Oryx has been proven to be very reliable in these matters as a baseline, since they visually verify virtually every piece of equipment lost before reporting on that (which of course leads to underreporting, but bulletproof evidence for the _lowest_ reasonable numbers).
As for manpower, there's literally no way to know, not for me, not for anyone. I don't claim to either. We could of course make some educated guesses,.but that's about it.

@@prlostinshadowsSad but true, and that's why I try to stay out of it.
I feel like Ukraine made the mistake of focusing the assault on the place EVERYONE thought they were going to attack. No one was surprised were it was to take place so they lost any element of surprise they may have had. Coupled with the fact that Russia has had plenty of time to dig in, and the west late delivery of armored vehicles/tanks, counter offensive was doomed to stall.
It was obvious for a reason though. It was the only front where even a partial success would have resulted in meaningful strategic gains by pressuring some of the most vital Russian supply lines. Putting some blue paint on the map up north would have been satisfying, but it wouldn't have changed the overall situation much. If anything it would just have made the northern front more difficult to supply in the long run by bulging it deep into Russian held territory. Through somewhat rugged terrain no less!
Thanks for continuing making these videos

To put it in perspective, losing 15 MBT's is losing a whole battalion of tanks, 4 tanks per platoon, 3-4 platoons per battalion
That's nothing for Russia their high production rate and massive storage allows them to refurbish and build new regiment a month easy hence why countiue support for Ukraine is important they can't afford these level of loses in short term biggest Russian advantage is numbers of human and equipment
15 is a company
@@gzrh1continued support is important, but Russia absolutely cannot replace the losses of equipment. A nation with a large reserve of equipment doesn't call up 70 year old tanks, and sanctions make getting the computerized parts for modern vehicles much more difficult and costly. I'm not under the delusion that Russia's simply going to hit a hard limit of tanks, shells, helicopters, etc, but losing 2000+ tanks in 2 years of fighting isn't anywhere close to sustainable for Russia. And judging by their current tactics that loss rate doesn't seem to be going anywhere in the near future.

But isn't it too early to call Avdiivka a "Russian disaster"? If I understand correctly they are still fighting while i am writing and, even if it is true that the Russian troops are taking heavy losses, the Russian leadership doesn't care much: they have plenty of soldiers, and they are not afraid of losing many of them in order to gain a result...
It's still a disaster considering how much equipment and men they waste to gain at least small territory gains.
@@stevolenzingthat’s literally the Russian game plan in any war going on a couple hundred years now
@@KingKing-cz6xh the thing is, Modern Russia cannot sustain this losses, they are no longer the behemoth of the Soviet Union. @@josecarlosgonzalezgaitan3738yes but when you already have a huge population in comparison with Ukraine it doesn’t matter the Russian army can still afford to loose millions of men unlike Ukraine. All you keep hearing is how Russia doesn’t care about their men exactly they don’t because they have much deeper barrel then Ukraine. It’s literally a military strategy when you have more men then the enemy you throw as many men as you have too to kill theirs because you can replenish them faster then the enemy
The thing is while this channel did their best to stay neutral, in the first episode the channel pledge its allegiance to Ukraine. So the news will feel biased towards Ukraine, even though Russian are indeed back at the offensive and Ukraine are indeed back on the defense. I'm not support Ukraine or the other, I only want to know the news from the front, but the thing is this is one of the best channel for covering the Ukrainian war, even with some words clearly twisted to support to other. So take some words with a little bit of salt, including Ukraine gain, Russian failure, and when he said 'according to some Russian blogger' is more like people who comment on the Facebook or something that mention some narrative that they support. But I'm not against this channel or anybody (please don't burn me for this) its just what I learn when watching this type of news, is that it will try to be biased towards some group and that's ok. I don’t know if you are sincere or not with this comment TfJedisuper, but this is not first or last leftarded take in otherwise he’ll made comment. I would put forward only the “extreme far left” even use this phrase, so it says more about the writer than it doesn’t about the congressmen. Top to bottom.
@@shanekennedy5420 I see your point, but I would say it’s fair that the trump wing of the party is broadly the furthest right on most issues - if you feel that’s good or bad is irrelevant - so to brand them as the far right of the party is accurate, but to go into detail about why that is utterly irrelevant to the content of the video. That same wing is also the most vocal about ending aid to Ukraine, so I don’t see this as some wild smear job or distortion of facts and certainly nothing so egregious as to call it propaganda
.
Extreme certainly adds a negative connotation, but IMO it’s at best a jab from the video’s creator and/or writer who has made no secret of their general support for Ukraine in this conflict, or quite possibly a broad but still basically accurate summary of the situation from a non-American who isn’t clued in or overly interested in the minutia of our political landscape.
I wonder if Ukraine establishes a good foothold in the west south of the Dnipro, it might force Russia to pull back some troops from the east to refortify, weakening their line in the east - allow Ukraine to make a breakthrough.
thanks for the information on Kirby warning that Ukraine aid may be about to lapse, very disturbing news
Kirby was speaking in the context of what has been previously authorized by Congress at the time of the 45-day budget deal. Any further aid is contingent on a new budget including it passing Congress -- the statement was not referencing overall US interest in continued support of Ukraine.

True, but Slovakia is one of the smaller allies. Support from the US and Germany are way more important, as well as Poland for example. And Germany won't stop supporting Ukraine, Poland elected pro Ukrainian parties, the only worries I have is the US with their far right Republicans slowing down the support in the congress.
Agreed, it will be up to the American people to maintain the aid by silencing the Government Of Putin in the next election.
@@stevolenzing The US shouldn't be funding this war period. You want a war, you personally fund and fight it.
Those numbers at the end show the rather astounding scale of the Russo-Ukrainian War. To that count of expended military equipment, one could also add the tremendous cost and scale of the fixed defenses (Maginot-esque) that have been constructed. Construction that is, in the main, not readily re-deployable.
you're right. however, the figures of total losses given at the end do not hold out any criticism and are extremely implausible. I'm afraid, in this case, wishful thinking is given out as valid. Although the rest of the material is more or less objective

The reluctance to support Ukraine is utterly irrational. Russia is the primary rival of western interests. Even if they can't fully win, bleeding Russia is a win for the west. The only reason to not support Ukraine would be sympathy for Putin.
Unfortunately for Ukraine, the most rational NATO perspective is to keep Russia in the fight as long as possible, slowly draining away all the old Soviet era stockpiles, until they are no threat to Europe at all. Reducing Russia's ability to threaten Europe is NATO's stated goal.
Now, the cynical among us would consider the current political theatre to be carrots dangled in front of Putin to give him just enough hope to keep going. Deliberate or not, that is the effect.
No, not exactly a nice way to support Ukraine. If polls are to be believed, the majority of voters in most Western nations are very much pro-Ukrainian support. These political games are risky for the politicians. Perhaps allowing the US Republicans to threaten Ukraine support could be a win for the Democrats in the next election. So yeah, cynical, but not entirely irrational.
I love the voice! It is like watching old documentaries!
Sounds like a stalemate going into winter.
"The grain related mini-crisis between Kyiv and it's central European allies has seemingly been resolved."
The elections are over, Europe doesn't need to use cheap Ukrainian grain as a boogeyman now.
I think the word "stalled" is viewed as "failure" by some people who don't take into account that Russia loses on average 3 to 5 times more than Ukraine, even if Ukraine is not moving much. It's a war of ressources, and eventually Russia will run out of "minerals to produce more zerglings", because Russia definitely fights like zergling rush (Avdiivka) if you get the reference. Ukraine tries to save manpower as much as possible, while Russia doesn't give a single fuck about their soldiers, hence the 3 to 5 times more losses for Russia since June 2023.
If you think Russia will run out of manpower and resources before Ukraine you haven’t paid attention to history there’s a reason why Ukraine tries to save manpower and Russia doesn’t its because Russia can replace them much easier then Ukraine. That is in part how Ulysses S Grant won the civil war he knew the north had more men then the south so he would hurl bodies at the front line, some called him a butcher others called him effective

You act as though the Russian are not also having manpower shortages. After the partial mobilization young Russian men have been fleeing the country to in fears of a general mobilization and being put into this pointless conflict. As a result Russia is facing a brain drain and labor shortage.
"Russia hasn't lost an inch" really? We just gonna pretend they weren't pushed outta Kyiv. We just gonna pretend the Kharkiv offensive did not happen. We just gonna pretend the Russians weren't forced to leave the city of Kherson. Even recently we are just going to pretend Robotyne did not happen.
I like how you accuse me of only getting my information from propaganda when you are clearly just saying what Russian propaganda is telling you. Just goes to show you don't have much of a leg to stand on.
But let's say you are right and Russian victory is just weeks away. Based on what Russia has lost politically, economically, and militarily this would be the definition of a pyrrhic victory. Now Russian military incompetence is on full display, now no country really fears them save for their nuclear arsenal. In about a year and a half the Russian almost as many men that we lost in 20 years of Vietnam. Unfortunately, aside from the Israel/Hamas conflict, even more recent events are not going in Ukraine's favor. Slovakia just elected a pro-Russian, anti-Ukrainian, anti-American Prime Minister, Robert Fico, who almost immediately announced a full stop to any and all military support to Ukraine. Also, the Speaker of the House that US Republicans just implemented, Mike Johnson, has an atrocious voting record as it pertains to supplying aid to Ukraine... so there's no telling how his recent promotion may affect US aid and support. Hopefully, now that he will be privy to daily briefings with top military officials, they will be able to talk some sense into him allowing him to realize that supporting Ukraine must be a top priority. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

Same shit with people screaming how we needed to deploy troops into Ukraine and how we need to deploy troops into Israel. Like why the hell do we need to do that? Are any of you who suggest deploying troops ready to enlist/already enlisted? The answer more than likely being no they just want to further their internet clout by saying stupid shit and chanting how we need to sacrifice our men and women for some shit going down in another country. At the end of the day the blind masses will continue to parrot the same war mongering death chants that their beloved talking heads on the TV and their old head politicians scream and shout knowing full well their children will be protected from having to serve in a combat unit if at all. The people are so hilariously retarded left wing right wing shit doesn't matter they're two sides of the same coin, they put on a public show of being against one another but behind closed doors they all eat, cheat and laugh together.
