When Criken said "You know you don't personally own all medical supplies on the ship right?" I was hoping he'd come back with "When I'm buying the medical supplies out of pocket, I do." lol
The fact that Criken could say that and yet constantly insist that every crewmember buy things that are legitimately necessary for the ship to run using money out of their own pockets is... god, it's just utterly infuriating. I hope he always gets alarms set up in his quarters, every game, and they never turn off.
Actually, Tomato is often the reason they flatline. He is always doing greed rp. Criken is trying to upgrade the ship more frequently than he should, that's about it. It's cope to pretend Tomato isn't enjoying creating chaos.
The whole point of the wages is so that people can buy the things they need for the team and not have to keep asking the captain to buy every single thing. May as well just give everyone nothing and have Criken spend 30mins at every station buying stuff for everyone if all they will do is complain. Tomato also seems to wander around doing nothing all the time which doesn't help the team. The RP is fun and all but when every time they play they make literally no progress it gets kind of old.
@@EyeofValor as he said in his own words "I play all sides so I always come out on top" In all seriousness though the logistics of purchasing supplies would be vastly streamlined if everyone either made a list for Criken to buy or if they did outright buy their own supplies and act as a collective submarine crew rather than individuals who happen to work on a ship (the wages really don't mean anything if everything they can buy is to keep the sub or crew alive, and nobody has a wife to go home to) But you know RP is just so damn delicious.

The power issue with the Typhon II is due to it being a battery power setup. You are supposed to charge the batteries to full, then cut the reactor off. Then you turn it back on when the battery charge gets low. Otherwise you end up overcharging the batteries and burning out all of your junction boxes and secondary systems.... repeatedly. It's actually a nice system, saves you a ton of money on fuel rods, one rod will usually last several missions, and when running on battery your sub is very, very quiet, allowing you to stealth past some of the less aware enemies. One minor drawback is that it is slightly rougher on your electrical system, and it will need repairs slightly more often than normal power setups. It can be worth it to get a high skill electrician npc and just lock him in the junction box room.
Playing captain can be one of the most fun and unique roles there is if your crew is great I have an absolute blast playing as captain managing the crew while steering the ship at full-speed through a cave, and when all the chips are down you have to get up from the sonar fully loaded to prove to the crew why you're THE captain
These few past barotrauma streams could be a lot more fun if the crew would get past the first basic obstacles. Currently its more of a podcast occasionally interrupted by fatal beginner enemies. Also cricken as the captain is the biggest enemy to the crews success in the entire game xD
@@SuprememessageNG It is. However, the beginning is also usually the most boring and bland part of the game for anyone who isn't experiencing it for the first time because you don't have any talents, you don't have the resources to explore, you don't have the money to get anything above starter gear, you aren't being given any of the most fun missions like pirate vessels or outpost takeovers and you most likely won't be encountering any abyssal creatures. Does Tomato not see that the suit locker has space for 3 tanks? all the vanilla ships should have them hooked up to power now, so they should auto fill
For anything that isn’t actively spurting blood or killing somebody, just tell them to hydrate. Works every time, don’t even need to use saline. But when they do need you, be the best goddamn doctor to solidify yourself as irreplaceable.
