  • New film out of Saudi Arabia.. the city of Jeddah
Saudi Arabia is changing rapidly and it is inviting the world to come and explore. By making tourist visa now widely available, the country is truly opening its doors to the travellers. It’s definitely positive development for the people as the arrival of travellers will bring more change the country for the good.
We were asked by @mediamonks to create a series of travel films to showcase the various regions in the country. We pleasantly surprised by the array of gems are to be discovered throughout this vast country, that till date remained fairly undiscovered.
In this film follow @model_tima on a journey showing her homeland to her foreign friend @enzadilecce
Note this is a director’s cut by Caspar Daniël Diederik that is different form the original launched earlier for @visitsaudi.
The places featured in this film:
    Jeddah
The second largest city in the kingdom; a main port and gateway to the Islamic holy cities Mecca and Medina.
Jeddah is the most fascinating of Saudi Arabia's major cities, with a cosmopolitan and liberal air not present anywhere else in the Kingdom.
Visitors will love the city's World Heritage Red Sea architecture, its bustling souq, the laid-back coastline that's home to fantastic dive sites, and its diverse, world-class cuisine.
It’s gifted with long stretches of beaches and “the Corniche”, a seafront promenade anchored by the iconic King Fahd’s Fountain.
    Sculpture Park
Numerous bronze, stone or glass sculptures are scattered along the sea shore. It’s great fun playing around them and take great pictures.
The Fakieh Aquarium is a the only aquarium in Saudi Arabia. You can learn more about the aquatic life found in the Red Sea. Around 7000 exotic sea creatures of 200 species were in the aquarium. Acrylic tunnel allows the visitors to watch the amazing sea creatures swimming and floating by, as well as to get up close with them will surely thrill and excite children and adults alike
    Corniche
The Cornice is a long coastal stretch in northern Jeddah with a promenade and a giant leisure space. There are man made swimming bays, lush green landscaping, bike lanes, children's parks, outdoor gyms, piers, a host of fast-food places and cafes. Jeddah people spent their free time here, especially on weekend evenings, when the atmosphere is cosy.
Whilst wandering along the Corniche promenades check also for the King Fahd fountain. With 312 meters height he largest in not only the country but the tallest in the entire world. Best around sunset!
    Al Balad
Al-Balad is the city’s historic old town that dates to the 7th century. It retains traditional homes built from coral and is recently added into the UNESCO World Heritage sites list. It’s pure joy wandering in the narrow alleyways, discovering brightly colored houses, the friendly people, the smells and sounds of Balad.
    Souk Al Balad
The famous Balad souk Al- Alawi has much to offer. Here you can find abayas, shumagh, and scarves in all colors imaginable, leather bags, shoes and sandals, jewelry made from coral. Oud, frankincense, Arabic perfumes, oils and incense burners to use them all in. Sample the dates, spices, Arabic coffee beans, fresh fruits and vegetables (@blueabaya)

Bummer to see you go. This film is about local people and culture. We're supporting connections between people and that travel may open minds and give new opportunities. There's enough hathred in the world.
