- Hi and welcome to Always Dolls. Today we are crafting a viewer's request for a birthday party set. This tutorial shows how to make a version of American Girl's pink ombre cake along with pink lemonade drinks and pink party plates. Can you tell we love PINK!!! We have tried to re-create this set using readily available materials and tools.

Was thinking about buying the set, but now I can make it instead! And make more cakes for the bakery. I do have one question though - Where can u buy deco cream or what can it be substituted with? I do have white puffy paint but wouldn't be able to do the scalloped edge thing.
Hi Kiki Diamond, so glad this tutorial was helpful and has inspired more ideas for your bakery. I buy a non-generic brand off EBay (it’s very inexpensive) or you could use white caulking (purchased from the hardware store) and tint it pink with paint. Happy crafting 😀
This is awesome! I really want to make this for my daughter’s birthday coming up! I was wondering - you used liquid glue when assembling the cake pieces together- would it work to use hot glue instead? Thanks for a great tutorial! 😊
Hi Unicorn Rainbows - Toys and Dolls 👋 you could try hot glue just be sure there is enough to make good contact/adhesion between the layers. Also Happy Birthday to your daughter 😀
