MKM Yipper design flaw!?!? Huge issue!

- Today we are taking a closer look at the MKM Yipper designed by Ben Peterson. This knife has an issue where the blade comes in contact with one of the barrel spacers in the handle when closing. It has left a cut on the barrel spacer and a nick on the blade…
Not just yours... Mine as well... and some others I've talked to online... knafs knows about it and have told MKM... I've emailed MKM but haven't head back... knife center said they would take the return so I think I'll do that this week ... 😞
I also hit up knife center about a return, I haven’t heard back yet but hope they will also be gracious and take mine back.
Wow! That’s a bummer. I’m glad mine doesn’t have this issue. Yours should not have been shipped with that problem.
I emailed as well but took the standoff out and it works perfectly fine. Wish they would send out new scales with the screw holes filled in.
Hey man, you won't go wrong with the Bel Air, it's great! I was thinking of buying the Yipper also, but after what you have shown to be a design flaw, I'm gonna give it a miss. Cheers mate!
What's up with MKM?? I wrote them, no response at all. VERY disappointing!! as well no response to the Instagramm Form.
For me, i guess it is the ever last MKM Knife i will buy.
They're overpriced and poor heat treats anyway. Italian knives in general cut corners. Now they have a consortium I think they have incorporated all their poor practices into it.
Bummer. Was just about to order one of these.
Well, this explains why I have a chip in my blade. I’ve already tried to sharpen it out which hasn’t worked. Probably can’t return it at this point. I don’t know.

Mine has the same issue. I bought mine from Knafs and now Knafs wants me to contact MKM instead of dealing with the problem. Very disappointed at both companies.
Holy Crap, that is terrible, Ive always been a huge fan of Bens but that is not the proper way to handle that!

Microcenter did take my return. I did recently see that Ben and MKM have acknowledged this issue and offered a solution. See Bens Instagram for details!
Blade should never hit the barrel spacer regardless of what the lock is doing. Poor design for that reason. And then the fact it's happening because of the crossbar lock/omega springs also not working correct. = huge fail. Was considering this because of the Magnacut and price. You just saved me some money and some heart ache!
I thought that was a Gerber Savvy at first.
