- Some random cell phone shots of our 1968 Boston Whaler 13 running on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River between Northumberland and Winfield, PA.
There are a lot of boats out there today...and many much "nicer", but there is no boat that is as fun
to run as the original Whaler 13! They simply put a smile on your face and pain in your back.
We are contemplating selling this boat which we've owned for 9 years....but we have many many memories and it's literally a tough sell...not for a buyer, but for the sellers :( - Розваги
Nice! I just recently became a proud owner of a ‘68 BW 13’, with a 1986 Evinrude 40 two-stroke. The more I dial this boat in, and the more I become more acclimated with it’s potential, the more awe struck I get after each boating session. One stoked 60 yr old, lol!
Congrats on your purchase! They kind of become part of the family. I really like machines/stuff that is quality built, to last a lifetime. Stuff that was made before "disposable" culture took over.
Haha, the father's laugh was perfect for an old Boston Whaler commercial.
I love it !!! So much fun!!! Perfect engine/boat combo.
The memories this conjures!
One reason I've kept it and plan to keep it in the family indefinitely....nothing like it!
Really enjoyed watching you guys put this beauty through her paces
Glad you enjoyed! We sure had fun running it that day.
Nice original whaler! I’m redoing my 1966 right now.
Great little lake boat ! Classic
Never knew Evinrude ever made an engine that actually ran... Nice video
These old Evinrudes were some of the toughest outboards ever made. Total opposite philosophy from Merc: Merc was about high output, small bore, short stroke, more cylinders, fancy tech....Evinrude was about big bore, long stroke, less cylinders, simple. (I have had both and like each of them!)
What the pitch on your evinrude 40
@@novemberbird9099 prob 12 or 13
All the rich kids in my h.s. had one.
Nice rig
Thanks! It's not much but it's still a Whaler. I remember pulling up to a fuel dock one time and there was a $100k boat next to me. People were talking about the Whaler, not that expensive boat :)
looks like fun
It is!
Sweet classic Whaler! What year is the motor? Also 1968? She’s running great!
It's a combination of a 1971 Big Twin powerhead and a 1966 lower unit. :) But yes, it still runs well!
I'd be curious to how this old 40 would run against the same boat with a new 40hp.
Yes, that would be interesting. I'd really love a two stroke Yamaha 40hp on it.
Have the same motor except mine is the 28 super fast and easy to work on put it on a 12 foot Jon boat one time and that’s a wild ride private lake so don’t start with the hate
Nice! A budget friendly personal water craft :)
Dying to tidy up that bow rope 😂
We aren't very fussy with such things. FAIL, I know.
