please, this is our insane totally great and absolutely wonderful performance of " Sorry" by musicians, outside of the Bix Beiderbecke Orchestra. Wawaaa, I can clap my hands, and my feet go clap and clap, ......wow!
I have the oportunity to hear and talk with Andy at the Whitley Bay Festival last July just a week before from this video. I was with my band from Chile performing there.
Duffy really brings this kind of jass to life on percussion. You just cannot mimic Bix, Murray, Rank, and Rolini: the tune has got to live and come up fresh from the gut. Andy Schumm's groups have got it right!!
Otto here is very impressive. In early clips with Andy he seemed a bit tight. Here we see one of the greatest contemporary players on clarinet of this kind of jass!! He joins in my view Juli Aymi of Joan Chammaro groups, a Spanish jazz ensemble!!
Chapeau for this band. BIX will be happy to hear this in "Heaven!" "Double" Chapeau for Vince Giordano carrying three very big instruments to the GIGS: His Contra - Bass / His Tuba and His Bass-Saxophone. I know musicians making problems to take only ONE instrument to their concerts.
Great performance and great video! My one complaint would be that you did not zoom in on David Boeddinghaus when he was taking his great piano solo, but instead chose to ignore him with the camera and focus upon other members of the ensemble. Why did you do this? I realize that the music rack of the piano, and also the piano lid and a microphone stand compromise the view of his face from your angle, but that is still no excuse for not trying.
as long as there are bands like this Jazz will never die. I have no words for the noise modern groups promote as music.
Just like being in the New Yorker cclub back in 1927 Keep blowing Andy Best Wishes from R J Darnell Bourne UK
Keep up with the good work, sincerely from Spain, MAX Seligmann
Was in the audience that day. Hot Jazz at its best. Bix Lives
Any band with Vince Giordano in it is GREAT, in my book. Wow...this is fantastic!
Ooooh, what a drummer!!! Fantastic!!!!
i don't write in english because i am french : sorry ! .... I love this band especially the old time drummer.
Excellent
Excellent from the drummer (authentic drum from the 1920s ??) and the saxophonist!!! I love!!! FANTASTIC
Olivierroaring20
Man I loved watching that dude on the drumkit, with those harold lloyd glasses yes!
And the wonderful trombone solo!!!!!
Super PIANO solo of Mr. Dave Boeddinghause on the Bix-Family-Piano.
Lovely. A great performance by Andy and his Gang.
Wonderful! Thank you for posting!
yes!! this music has a soul!
please, this is our insane totally great and absolutely wonderful performance of " Sorry" by musicians, outside of the Bix Beiderbecke Orchestra. Wawaaa, I can clap my hands, and my feet go clap and clap, ......wow!
-Woulda' loved to book them for my wedding reception...but never coulda' afforded them!
The Banjo dame!!!! Wawwww! Thanks.....
And the Drummer boy! WoW!
It was great to see Andy and Josh Duffee at Whitley Bay in November 2011 and expected to return to England again next year.
Mike Higham
That drummer really has his old style down. Loved the solo. Shoulda busted up that China cymbal @ 3:45. Very very good.
I'm with you about that China cymbal.
this music is....eternal!
Tack för detta Flemming!

Gran recreacion de un clasico de Bix. Fantastico !!!!
Great video Flemming! Great playing by the band!
Bix's bones rattled on this one!!
great Bix!
A really great band. And the clarinet player is a look alike of Hollands premier Balkenende.
Great!!!
Great solo all, but Andy just nailed it!
Bravi!

RagJazzMonkey Tom
Hey Tom- Any news about Bert Barr?
MUY BUENO
Duffy really brings this kind of jass to life on percussion. You just cannot mimic Bix, Murray, Rank, and Rolini: the tune has got to live and come up fresh from the gut. Andy Schumm's groups have got it right!!
Practice makes perfect!
I believe Bix's horn was happy that day!
Otto here is very impressive. In early clips with Andy he seemed a bit tight. Here we see one of the greatest contemporary players on clarinet of this kind of jass!! He joins in my view Juli Aymi of Joan Chammaro groups, a Spanish jazz ensemble!!
That cool old drum set , looks like a Leedy brand.
Very similar to the original version, an almost impossible thing to achieve. Congratulations
Chapeau for this band. BIX will be happy to hear this in "Heaven!"
"Double" Chapeau for Vince Giordano carrying three very big instruments to the GIGS: His Contra - Bass / His Tuba and His Bass-Saxophone.
I know musicians making problems to take only ONE instrument to their concerts.
Great quality Flemming. Thanks as I missed this. This band kicks ass!!
Sorry we didn't see each other much in Davenport. Will you be at Whitley Bay?!
Are they still around? .
I don't envy Vince Giordano lugging those three instruments to gigs!
Bill Sharp
Do they have a CD out?
I guess not - but keep an eye on Andy's homepage once in a while - www.andyschumm.com
Best regards
Flemming
Flemming Thorbye Cool, thanks!
King Vangarh Great Sound-all around! Classic Songs with a new twist!
Very talented musicians ONE & ALL!
They have 2 Cd's out and a 3rd to come out soon. They are on the Delmar label.
Robert Meeker Links?...
really good performance, shame about the clapping
It was a good clarinet solo though! I thought the clapping was deserved.
Great performance and great video!

Wynton Marsalis once said of Bix, "Where's the beef?" Truth is Marsalis knows nothing about real jazz and Andy Schumm could blow him off the stage.
Ain't that somethin'? And those acoustics -- yikes. Very "live".
But the acoustics are awful
Awfull is a heavy qualification. Would prefer the word => NOT OPTIMAL.
I do not like it. From my point of view, I think that Bix won't like it. It's just noise, not music.. ! Sorry.
JOSH DUFFEE
EUROBOZZI => I think it is already too late for you to consult a DOCTOR!
Bravi!!
