"WE WANT A BATTER, NOT A BROKEN LADDER!"
Modcheck any broken ladders????
I see london I see france I see your underpants
WE WANT A STREAMER, NOT A TINY WEINER!
We want a chair cam, not a flesh man!
"WATCH OUT BATMAN, HERE COMES THE JOKER!"🗣🗣🗣📣📣📣
"watch at 1.5 speed" don't tell me how to live my life Ray, I am going to enjoy every damn second of this
Ah, another man of taste.
Yeah nah, every inning has me riveted and dying laughing. I'm watching every single second at the speed god intended.
Dude I sat and ENJOYED all 5 hours
Hell, I might watch it in slow motion so it never ends
"Why are you going to (third?!)-"
"WHY are you throwing to FIRST?!"
"WHY ARE YOU GOING HOME?!"
"HOW DID SHE SCORE?!?!?!"
"HOW DID THAT WORK?!"
Its the fact that rhat all these questionable moments happened within like 30 seconds. Free replay of that moment 2:52:21
Not even 30 seconds. That was BARELY 20 seconds. X'D
There were so many of those moments, Ray's voice was just shot by that last game lol Had to stop watching halfway through too cuz my head started hurting from laughing too hard
Anne Frazier turned into Elly de la Cruz, and I'm still not certain as to how...
Edit: Whoops, that's Gretchen Hasselhoff I'm a racist apparently
this was one of the best streams in a while. Had to rewatch it once it was uploaded. Imagine a stream with Ray and Naggz commentating. One roots for the home team and the other for the away. Would be pure gold
OH. MY. GOD. That would be PEAK CINEMA
Imagine instead they assume the role of rival coaches and just spend the whole game yelling at these kids.
@@firstnext5482this would be absolutely fucking hysterical
Please. This would be incredible. Sub goal, please.
This Stream needs to be preserved and shared to anyone who hasn't seen Ray. This Stream and commentary was Amazing.
Ray, please. It's called BBL and the first game was Red Rocket VS Humongous Socks. They knew what they were doing. 100%.
It *was* the 90s, so…
Tony D walking up to the plate the way he did. Suckin on a sucker like it’s a cigarette then crackin a heater out towards center field for a home run. Kids going places
That's how baseball used to be played, back when men were men and genuinely named shit like Dick Butkus
The way his smile disappeared so fast with that lets play lol
The 'nam flashback hit and hit hard
Very adorable profile picture Demon 😊
Love the profile pic Demonfox!
That second game though... I was crying from laughter throughout the extra innings of that chaotic mess. I even hurt my throat in the process. This was an amazing and hilarious stream to be a part of
Ray making it a 6 inning game so they don't go on too long, only for the 2nd game to go into extra innings even if it had been a 9 inning game, was hilarious. It was so perfect that if it had been scripted, it would have felt contrived. I don't know how the AI can be that bad, even for a game made in 1997, as every character seemed to consistently make the wrong decision, especially when batting and running bases.

Holy shit that walk-off homer for the cycle by Kiesha was so damn satisfying! Absolute cinema. Couldn't have been better.
@@skyekeating349 The Ai just wanted to give the cycle. The triple only happened because jocinda had to run because of reese and then in that sequence keisha ran to third on the throw home when reese was already on the bag so it forced reese to run home and be tagged.
That play was keisha's triple.
One of my favourite things about these VODs, is seeing GlassesJournal in chat going "HI UA-cam FROGS! HI HOW ARE YOU!"
I dunno, I just find it endearing
Glasses is an international treasure and I hope they know it
Glasses is the best :)
I don't know what's funnier, Ray reacting or the Chat reacting because both are sending me to the floor laughing.
Dude, seriously. The chat is seriously hysterical sometimes, and this might be some of the funniest they've ever been. They immediately played along and didn't let up, it was like thousands of angry little league parents.
In my headcannon this is what Ray would be like if he never left New York, had a kid and now coached a shockingly erratic local little league team that he went out of his way to verbally destroy at every opportunity.
This has big parent screaming at the kids baseball game energy
Oh my God this is hilarious to watch.
I would LOVE to see this become a recurring series where you go through all Backyard Sports Games.
GO PABLO!!!
he plans the other games, I kinda want a collab with nags for the baseball ones
@mdb45424 Naggz would have an aneurism watching this. Would be absolutely hilarious though.
Kiesha Phillips really was Kiesha Ohtani. She went 14-for-18 with 4 doubles, a triple, 3 homers, 4 RBI. Throw in a cycle and a 6-inning no hitter with 5 K's.
The Least Valuable Player award is far more up in the air: Ashley Webber (0-for-8, 2K; 2 ER and 2 in 2.2 IP), Dante Robinson (1-for-11, 10K), Lisa Crocket (2-for-15, 8K), Reese Worthington (3-for-20, 12K, 2BB), Sally Dobbs (0-for-13, 9K; 5 ER in 6.1 IP). My vote's for Sally Dobbs.
Other notables: Jorge (Ray) went 4-for-13 with 2 doubles and 2 K's, Tony (Nagzz) went 5-for-13 with 3 doubles, a homer, 3 RBI, and 2 K's (as well as 5 IP, 6 K's, 1 BB, and 1 ER), and Pablo would have been 5-for-8 if he had actually stayed put ever
She got lucky on that triple that it didnt cost her team the game. It was poor baserunning that forced her team into a double play as she ran to third when jocinda was thrown out at home but that got reese thrown out at home also
Man I remember getting this game on a CD from inside a cereal box back in the day. Then played 100+ hours of it. What a hit of nostalgia.
Thumbnail is like "POV, you're about to get hospitalized from this kid's mean ass pitch"
Kimmy had a hell of a curve ball, genuinely.
God please give us more of this. Hell, we even could go the full 9 yards and do Backyard Football because you can get real teams in that. Even if we aren't replacing the Mascot Tournament, all the Backyard games could fill that void for quite some time!
There's a solid half-hour of moments in this stream for the monthly highlights. I was busting out in laughter way too much for watching a 30 year old baseball game.
Never played these games, threw this up just as background noise. I got so invested, I was blown away when it was over. It felt like no time at all. I would absolutely tune in live for one or two more of this exact game. This was SO FUN
I NEVER expected someone to ever play this game again! Had this when I was like 5 on my old dinosaur of a pc (I fell so damn old)! What awesome memories!!
I remember having backyard baseball 2004 on my GameCube and having a blast. My pc at the time was the old hot wheels pc that came with the sweet hot wheels game where you race around sweet tracks throughout a house. Such good good memories all brought back due to ray playing this today 😊
NotTheExpert actually played this and other backyard games a couple years ago. In terms of this, the game was rereleased very recently so people have been playing this again
Same, but I think it was the mid 2000s for me. Which is a little late since I was born in '96.
i would say, this would make an amazing annual series. if mascot football cant be used for any reason, backyard baseball would be an amazing substitute. had me cheering on for hours.
Arguably the same amount of jank as the mascot tournament
This has honestly been one of my favorite vods of all time. I really hope you do more!
Can’t explain how hyped I am for this VOD. I loved these games!! Backyard Soccer was my jam! I hope they bring it out too
Never played this myself, but hearing that intro before the game came on with the different company noises was wild. Oh what a treat to go back in time
This video is 1000x funnier if you imagine Ray as the dad/coach if the little team and he's saying all this stuff in the dugout where all the parents can hear him
Gotta appreciate a classic like this. The new company/whoever are in charge of this series have said they play to rerelease more classic backyard games in the future
Ray had me laughing so hard calling the pitch the 'brain destroyer' and then I look in my recommended shorts and there's a video from Northernlion where he shows off the Brain Destroyer 3 years ago, like UA-cam knew exactly what to show me to keep me informed.
Northernlion might not be your favorite streamer, but he is your favorite streamer's favorite streamer.
1:28:11 needs to be analyzed and studied for future generations
Regarding Sunny Day (the girl announcer) that is indeed Jen Taylor:
Jennifer Lee Taylor is an American actress who is known for her voice acting contributions to video games and cartoons. She voiced Cortana and Dr. Catherine Halsey in the Halo franchise and voiced Princess Peach, Toad and Toadette in Nintendo's Super Mario franchise. She also provided voice work for the Microsoft Cortana artificial intelligence.
Alrighty then!
2:13:23 Andy coming in to chat thinking that this was a Chibi collab bc of all the kids that wouldn't shut up is so funny
I have no real nostalgia for these games (outside of seeing the commercials on TV and PBG’s videos), but I have to say this was some of the most fun I’ve had watching computers play some absolutely insane baseball whilst also building this narrative of the kids in each game. Honestly one of my favorites of this year.
This is definitely going to be a vod I come back and watch again and again. Holy shit I haven't laughed so fucking hard.
I was watching this in the background, and I heard the announcer say "Let's play ball!" at 3:04. I turned to see ray's face and nearly lost it laughing 🤣
The Humungous Entertainment intro hit me with so much nostalgia than I thought it would holy moly. I still have this on CD I wonder if it would still work
ScummVM supports the original 1997 version, the 2001 version and the 2003 version. the steam version of 1997 will probably be supported in the future, but crashes it at the moment.
Ray: This game is a core childhood memory.
1 minute into the game loud "let's play" by the commentators.
Is this Ray's repressed hero backstory?
I didn't even know these were coming to Steam, they were absolutely my childhood. Please do a full season, Ray!
Please do more of these! This has been hilarious and fun and I've enjoyed cheering for teams programmed in 1997. Love ya dad!
"May I remind you... that the primary objective... is to hit the ball?"
2:32:20 I love when ray sits down and he’s like somewhat out of frame. It just adds something to the VoD.
I played a TON of Backyard Football 2001 on my PC. This brings me back so much, glad to see them releasing the games on Steam!
I love when you get to sit back and watch without focusing on playing, cant wait for more sports watches
I was 6 years old Glasses when this came out. Damn I'm old. 😂😢
Edit: Not even 10 minutes in and this game dropped a LP 3:04
You can tell how much Ray loves seeing Reese in this video.
That amount of times I've come back to watch the moment at 1:39:43 is more than I can to admit.
just came home from the watch party at citi field for game 6 and this is what i needed to watch thank you ray
3:08:12 Just the combo of that hollow conk followed by Ray falling apart is amazing
What a nostalgia trip this is. I was 4 when this game first released (damn I'm old) but I think I first played it at 98 or 99 and spent way too many hours playing this and other backyard sports games. What a set of chaotic games, I was dying 🤣
Amazing for so many reasons. This game was one of my favorites growing up, the second game you spectated in the video was legendary, not even halfway through this and it's going in my favorites playlists 👌
Played the hell out of this and a bunch of other backyard sports games growing up 🤘
The beginning of Ray's professional commentary career
Loved this, would absolutely love to see another one. Glad you had fun!
I can't believe that Vinny the Gooch is voiced by Jenn Taylor. She's really good.
Would absolutely love to have more of these, whether it's this or the next games that come to steam. Fantastic watch
This was the emotional rollercoaster I needed
This was really enjoyable to watch but also making me feel old at the same time. I do remember playing this when I was a kid.
i absolutely loved this!!! i would love to see more backyard sports!! :3
this was such a great stream. why was it so easy to get invested 😂
Ray, do not put down the possibility of a PissBoi's tournament, in the 2001 game you can make your own teams and characters. You could definitely make a tournament where everyone makes their own characters and teams, sends them to you, and then you make them all in your game and have them play against one another.
Ray id absolutely love another vod of this game. Hope that you revisit this one at some point, or if not i hope you do a stream when the 2001 game gets rereleased on steam.
"WE WANT A PITCHER, NOT A BELLY ITCHER!"
I never thought of the phrase "At you're trying!" to be both tame and savage at the same time
These are the type of games we wanna see on ESPN 8 The Ocho!
This was both nostalgic and also a great watch.
Edit: Wow I actually watched the full thing without realizing lol. Hope he does more like this.
This is so cool. I used to play Street Sports games on the c64 wayyyy back in the day. Didn't even know the concept was redone in the 90s.
Oh my god this made me CRY laughing. Please do more like this!!
I remember this game from my childhood! Also really glad to see people mention Pablo early he is my favorite player C:
Pablo Sanchez was the GOAT
I’ve never been more excited for a Ray let’s play tbh
This might be the most chaotic, most unusual, and most entertaining game Ray has played since AH & I’m not even joking.😂
I watched this video and my entire UA-cam algorithm has been taken over by backyard baseball videos lol
I'm only 30 minutes into this but my god this is a lot of fun! I remember watching one of my friends play this game quite a bit when I would go to their house it gives me similar vibes to that.
Please do this again! I have such fond memories of this game!
the absolute whiplash I got hearing "who the fuck is Stephanie" because that exact sentence is a joke in my friend group about my name 😭
(my friend said that when seeing my name on their PSN feed. I was standing next to them. they forgot my name isn't just "Steph")
After the end of the Backyard Baseball League, Reese Worthington grew up to play for Chicago White Sox... he did not find any more success there either.
OMG this was my 1st videogame ever! the nostalgia is real! was 100% playing with Pablo on easy, im 27 years old this makes me feel soo old
I know about as much about the rules of american rounders as I do about american football, but this was very entertaining to watch
the start-up noise brought me back to my days of pajama sam and spy fox
I saw that you had this game on Steam during the recent Lockdown Protocol video, and I was so excited because this was one of my favourite games growing up. I played the shit out of Backyard Baseball and Backyard Soccer as a kid, despite not knowing a thing about sports or understanding what exactly I was supposed to do. I’m so excited to see you play this!!
Sally Dobbs hitting the teabag on Luanne at 4:39:39 had me in full tears, followed by Ray with the "clam slam" line
This whole stream was a blast. This was one of the first games ever and it was all a massive wave of nostalgia.
Streams like this one and the WWE streams are always good man. We get to sit back, relax, and enjoy the AI jankiness.
This gameplay unlocked core memories from my childhood
No one believes me, but I once had Pete "The Flash" Wheeler steal home on a strike
God I miss when developers cared about characters and spent time giving every character their own personality, identity, and quirks 🥺
I never played backyard baseball, but I’m feeling nostalgic and the charm is SHINING through ouo
HOLY SHIT CORE MEMORY UNLOCKED
I loved Backyard Baseball, Basketball, and Hockey so much as a kid
Do I have to play the other 96 Backyard Baseball games to know what's going on or can I start with this one?
I love how Ray gives the energy of a typical little league coach, hyping up the players while also getting WAY too intense when literal CHILDREN bumble a play
Great stream. The bad AI made it so much more entertaining. Would love more of this again someday. ❤
I was born the year this game came out :) But! I played the hell out of 2001, loved that game. Honestly was stoked to see it randomly make a come back on Steam
ah good old childhood, crazy to me im younger than Ray but played this one far more.
I'm only 2 games through the video and this is already the hardest I've laughed at ANYTHING this whole year. Please for the love of god do this again
I put this on to sleep to and ended up SO invested in game 2.
This just brought up so many memories I forgot I had
I HAD THIS CD AS A KID!!! LET'S GO PABLO THE GOAT!!!!!
BBL and red rocket was all I needed to know
This brought back a lot of memories
I want more of this already. And ive not finished the vod yet. Backyard Baseball was my jam in like 2nd grade
I have a distinct memory of this game for some reason. I think when I was in day care this was one of the games they had on the computer there, and I would watch other people play it. That had to have been around 2004. God I feel old now.
Dude, the nostalgia is strong with this one.
This is more wild than the actual MLB playoffs.. Ohtani could never be as good as these AI kids
I was also a young New Yorker in 2001. I can verify Backyard Baseball 2001 was THE major event of that year. Would you play that one next, please?
