I just discovered your videos because a friend sent me a link to the Second Oldest Trick in the Book. I am now hooked. You have a great talent. All the best to you.

The best magician is not the one with the fanciest tricks, it's the one wi-cut the crap, it's Hannibal

Some smooth flips and peeks while chatting, gotta get them looking at the other hand and not always where your eyes are

This was fun :-) Your skill goes without saying, but the bit I really like is your banter with the audience.

Great job. I've seen a significant number of your magic acts, and I'm always more impressed than I thought I was going to be. Very entertaining

this is a great display of deduction. it's crazy how dependant on culture this trick is. i wonder what kinds of things people from other countries would come up with

Gotta say. I always wondered how it is to cold read people. I know someone who does it as a party trick but I always wondered what micro-reactions there are that come from learning how a person is thinking with each word. Where can I learn more about that?

I'm not much of a magician myself, and I haven't tried to work out how it works, but I think it very unlikely it is cold-reading. One method for a similar effect is the one-ahead method for billet reading (search it up on wikipedia). Notice also that he gave them his own pen, this may or may not be important, I believe there are pens that have gimmicks of some sort, though I don't know how they work (again, I'm not a mentalist)

Sadly this has nothing to do with any of the mentalist things and cold reading, Its just a sleight of hands and a simple misdirection. Its just a simple trick but he did it flawlessly. I don't want to spoil anything, but if you look closely you can see where he did the "magic" on 3:07 to 3:13, and at other places. This trick made him look like a mentalist that can read minds, but its because of his comic skills and charisma.

Renaldo Rusdhy doesn't matter, still great because 99% of the people watching don't see that, especially not magicians. It's entertaining so it's good

    Pretty strong deduction skills there!
You must be a professor of logic at the University of Science, or something...
