Yeah, looks nice, but it's really hard to justify $150 for this. I will just use a PC, or one of the other Mac options like CubicSDR, at a pinch.
It’s worth 150 it has amazing graphics features and offers so much
Does it support DMR and D-STAR decoding? The iOS version option is seriously interesting for iPad users.
No DMR or D-Star decoding. FT8, RTTY, and Wefax decoding built in.
I have the iOS version on my iPhone 13 Pro Max I think the price Marcus charges is well worth it he constantly adding features and upgrades
Does this Software also work with other SDRs or only with Flex Radios? Looking for a good SDR Mac software that supports hackRF one and limeSDR
@@oliverkrause7307 Only Flex. However there is a version for Mac for some Icom radios.
Will this work with SDRPlay DX-duo or R2?
I have a TS-440 w/IC chipset installed, a Kenwood LD-C105 USB to Kenwood din6 plug, and iMac. Would this give me the access you describe here? I would like remote operation. Thanks N4SHO Roswell, GA
@@chuckrann6282 You could try Parallels to run windows on your Mac. It’s kinda hit or miss kinda thing.
make it $49 and you would increase your sales four-fold.
Might want mention the ASTRONOMICAL price tag... I have many radios that cost less (even when combined).
Very good vid. Thanks.
Blog v4 for mac m1?
Will the current Mac SDR version run natively on the new M1 chip or does it run under Rosetta?
It has been optimized for the M1 Macs.
@@hamradioscience I purchased a new Mac Mini with the M1 chip and with a 512 GB hard drive and 16 GB of RAM. MacSDR works fine on my system.
180 euros for this? change name guys , GucciSDR is more appropriate
Vše okolo Flex je nesmyslně drahé, ale ten produkt bohužel ani nefunguje tak dobře za ty peníze. Lepší volba je SUNSDR.
How can I get help intalling this and using on my ipad, would anyone be able to help
You can get the iPad version of SmartSDR. Works well and easy to use. It doesn’t have quite as many features as the desktop version but close. There are also some inexpensive add ons for it that add additional capabilities.
$149.99.....
crazy
150 dollars for the Mac version wow!!!!!
as well as a couple of grand for the FlexRadio.
@@patrickmolloy6994 I know...crazy price
buttfuckery, for sure.
149$ is not the qualifier for "the best" SDR.
1.50$ and I'd pay that, not 100x tha, lmfao.
ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY QUID?? sorry, bonkers
The Flexradio 6400M shown in the vid comes in at a cool $3,299 U.S.D. ... if you're able to play in that game, dropping a few quid for a bit of software shouldn't raise much of a sweat.
I'm slumming it with a $30 USB dongle and cheapo free software.
;-)
Cheers, mate!
149€ bye bye
$149.99!!!! I just stopped watching this video. What started out as a budget way to enjoy this hobby, just got ridiculous.
Actually this is a very reasonable price when you consider this program was written by an independent developer. You get a much superior version of SmartSDR and more features than the Windows version. Marcus responds very quickly to fixing issues with software as well as with customer support requests. The Windows version of SmartSDR can often take several months before technical issues are resolved. Not to mention Mac users no longer have to use Boot Camp or a Virtual Machine to run the Windows version.
@@hamradioscience Way over priced.....looking for step-up from the free software in the $50.00 range.
@@hamradioscience Agreed - I've got the 6600, a Maestro, the Mac and Windows version of SSDR. Loving it. Life is too short to be worried about other people's radios and how much they spend on them.
I accept that you may decide you can’t justify the cost but considering the sophistication and complexity of the software it if a goos price. How many of you work for nothing I wonder.
Way overpriced. I might as well just buy a scanner.
