I bought mine in "the prime of my youth", having had a few Japanese before that. It was pure "coincidence", as it was a friend of mine who found it in the papers (Before WWW;0). The "Seller" just look at us (Friend on the backseat of my Suzuki 6 fifty). And said! - I´m not selling to "this boy"! - But YOU can have a "test ride"? - I fell in LOVE! The SOUND! - "Rattle & Roll", - The feeling of that deeeeep torque! AND! - the handling!! I spent years adjusting valves, and "tightening bolts" every weekend of that thing, keeping it running smooth for yet another week! - At some point I somehow decided that I would try some "Up to date, - Maintenance free, reliable modern Japanese technology" again! - Bought a honda cb 550 Super Sport! - Almost crashed that on my first "try Out"! - That "Old lady" took the road and turns much better! So in spite of mush better "numbers" on "paper" at least! The Honda NEVER handled as well as that "old girl"!!
I love the vintage Norton’s. And I’d love to have one. But I also love the 961 Norton’s as I have 2 of them. I have a 2017 Dominator like the one in this video and I also have a 2016 Commando SF 961.
Theres a lot to be said for a torquey parallel twin, usable on most roads especially in the UK rain crud infested roads. I know my GSXS 1000/ will toast these but too much power will never beat perfect balance and grunt.
Yellow bike is a Triumph Thunderbird 900 3-cylinder. Me thinks they stopped making these about 2003. Middle bike appears to be a Triton (Triumph motor in a Norton frame).
Middle bike is a Norton Domiracer. Based on the 961 motor but in special frame. 50 made as a limited production run. They made a lower specification version but then went into liquidation taking everybody's money.
The bike on the right looks like a Norton Dominator cafe racer. Its a sideline featherbed frame and Norton motor. The rest is customised to look like a Manx bike. That would be closer to what a Triton would like like only with a Triumph motor mounted in the frame.
I had the Domiracer from 1961. They are phantastic! Cool Sound and fast- i love it!

You lucky bugger,
Now we are all jealous!
(Good on you mate)
Man you love Norton’s, all you need is a 500cc Manx now.
@@exb.r.buckeyeman845 I’ve been looking. I’m considering a Molnar Manx
@@scottdonbrosky5968 Hi Scott, is that the 4 valve job ?

Now let’s hear the sweet music of the Triumph triple next to the old Norton
Smoking is a good habit when you rev Norton bike.

I was thinking that, Up to a few years ago I owned the 650 thunderbird powered Triton..
Really Einstein? It’s a Norton engine in the bike in the middle.
