What is your favorite part of the Digitakt? I'm debating between the Empress Zoia and Digitakt. I know they are different, but want to make the right decision. I have all the other elektron gear and I don't own this one. thanks
I think the my favorite part of the Digitakt is that I can use it for more than just drums.. I love randomizing the Source page to make weird sounds. If you already have an Octatrack then perhaps the Digitakt doesn't really add much to your setup, other than being easier to use and (according to some people) having better sounding effects. I don't have any experience with the Empress Zoia but it seems interesting..
@@MayenMusic which did you end up going for? I had a zoia for a bit and it was a fun partner for my DT, just a little too deep for me.. if you get used to the layout it’s a great combo for resampling
@@redtekMusicChannel lol I’m right there with you. I ended up grabbing the Zoia back for my birthday, and about 2 weeks ago ended up getting the DT! Stupid GAS! I do need to sell one of the 2.
Nice tutorial man! I like your approach to sound “discovery” it’s really helped me with my creative process. Just to say the shortcut for transpose steps in step recording is ‘func+arrow key.’ Additionally you can clear the sequencer by hitting ‘func+play’ when in step recording. You probably already know this, I’ve just been trying to use the shortcuts more to speed myself up. I am a bit wary of the ‘func+play’ combo since it clears the pattern of you’re in live record though
