Thanks for uploading this nostalgic clip! Sweden Calling DXers raised my interest in shortwave radio more than 25 years ago. It was an obligation for me to listen to it each tuesday.
My story is similar to that of senderjaeger. This programme got me to DXing in 1985 (I first listened to them on 1179 kHz MW). How great is to hear George Wood again! Thanks!
I used to listen to this every week, on a Tuesday I think it was. And as I was on their mailing list the transcript arrived a few days later in the post, on yellow A4 paper! Great days! 😊
Bonus...most recognised theme of Radio Sweden but in full version. open.spotify.com/album/5FK8xYEXUToZdjXwGehAlw?highlight=spotify:track:1hnxGVyWJzzBSxARTwSJ87

Sweden Calling DX-ers me acompañó en mis años de DX-ista, y esperaba los marte, a pesar de recibir el boletin por correo. Emocionante
Wonderful- thx Bob!
It was my favourite show every Tuesday. I'm going to see if I can find a recording of "Waves in the air" now.
Was that the "pop" theme they often ended with? "Tuning in, on my radio. Whole world, gotta let them know" etc etc?
É triste ser saudosista, mas me dá uma saudade de ouvir esse prefixo.
genial !!!
excelente!
what is the name of this song at the opening?
