At last something of high quality that makes your guitar still sound like a guitar! I love my amp and just want good quality basic effects. I came across this by chance. I don't like the clutter of multiple stomp boxes but don't like all the rubbish stuff you will never use in multi effects. Could be the answer...Great review and playing that really shows what this can do.
Does this have cab simulation so you can just plug it directly into the PA (when NOT using an amplifier onstage)? I'm looking for something in more of a pedal board, simple format like this that can get GOOD, useable tones direct into a PA for certain gigs and also use it as a backup in the event my amp goes down at regular 'amp' type gigs.
I've just discovered the Magnus. I thought to myself "that could really do with an output at the delay/reverb stage". It appears you already thought of that with this baby :)
Wish the player had spent a little more time with the delays & reverbs. At 4:44 when he focuses on the delay, I want to hear the delay setting he used without delay or with the delay backed way down, with just the chorus (modulation) effect as the main point of focus. And a bit more reverb focus, too. All in all: a great video T.C. A demo without comment...just playing chords & a few tastey riffs here & there, no palm muted over saturated chugging. A real player with tone & touch. T.C. always delivers.
Great review. Really nice playing and that guitar is awesome. Question,in preset mode, can I save 3 presets with 3 different delay times . Not sure if I can also use this to change and save delay time.
Thanks for the comments. You cannot save settings. The Soulmate works like 5 individual pedals in a switching system, so if you want to change the tempo (delay time), you have to tap in a new one or turn the knob. Cheers, T-Rex
Hey TJ. Sorry for this somewhat late reply. Yup, you got it. It saves the on/off status of each effect, NOT the settings. For that, you need the big programmable multi´s out there. You can save 10 presets (five in each bank). Thanks for checking it out! Kris, T-Rex.
Technically yes, it will work with bass, but it wasn't specifically designed for it. My best advice is to try it out at your local shop, if that's possible :-) Maybe the SoulMate Acoustic will work better for your bass sound, as it has both EQ, compressor, balanced line-out and modulation-effect - try them both if you can, and see what suits you! // Jakob, T-Rex.
In case what I'm asking is silly, please excuse my ignorance on the subject... With the Tech 21 Fly Rig it appears that because the Sansamp section is an 'amp modeller' it can act as a pre-amp and if I wanted to I could use it to get straight into a sound desk. Can I do that with the Soulmate or would it sound thin and rubbish? I guess I'm asking if the OD effect can act as a pre-amp of sorts? I like the fact that the Soulmate has a tuner and banks!
Danelectro guitars in the 60s and 70s were junk. They were made from masonite and whatever cheap stuff they could get their hands on. I hope these recreations are made better.
Ah brilliant I am glad to hear it, I’ve owned and enjoyed several of your products over the years and just recently picked up the Soulmate second hand. Good news 👍
One of the BEST Product Demos I have EVER seen... Thanks so much for your professionalism...
If only all reviews were this good. It's not just a review it is a study without comment. A thing of beauty!
Beautyfull guitar! Love it!!!

Hi,
I have one.
Which is the best way to connect it? Amp front or Return ( so bypassing the preamp )
?
Does the delay and reverb have a spillover function?
Does it store the parameters as well in the presets?
what is the difference between this one and the magnus??
So will this store gain levels and volume levels?
que amp se ha usado para el video?
Can this run direct without a external cab sim? or does it have one built in?
Does this have a looper to add you favorite pedals?
does it have a cabinet simulation?
Is it quiet? Bought another brand of this style and noise city no matter what I did.
I have ordered this but need to know if I can plug direct to the PA for live use or do I need an amp/ mic simulator?
You need an amp simulator ! This is 5 pedals in one only ! Great boutique quality first class sound ! Full analog !
Great review. Really nice playing and that guitar is awesome.

But it will save what pedal is on or off, just not the settings on pedal? How many presets can you make and save?

I was really shocked about the bad opening sound. What happened there?
If it had a chorus I would have bought it.
strange no one answered , it has chorus under delay .. :) /. Rick
Does this accept line level? I’m a synth guy.....although some units will take a hot signal alright, others simply sound like ass.
Can I use this with bass? Would it suck any low end?

It seems that no one has asked the most important question. What is the amp used in this demo?
Eldon Huff At 0:30 the Video itself gives the answer. It is a T-Rex Big Tone Combo. They are long since discontinued though.

get the flyrig, cheaper and better.
want
hi!! what is your guitar brand??
Duesenberg
COOL!! THANKS, SOUNDS AMAZING!!!
Riccardo Ragni Duesenberg Starplayer TV model?
Thanks!!!
Too bad they didn't make one for right-handed players too. ;)
just a name change right?
Not quite. This one has an effects loop built in. You can put the overdrive and distortion on front, and delay and reverb in the loop
***** I think a better tuner as well.

Went bankrupt?
We are still in business - alive and kicking!

No compressor, no cab/amp sim, no sale.
No compressor, no cab/amp sim - sold!
