1808 to 1920 is when the quarrying took place its way deep in the woods and there’s a 4x4 trail to get out there those blocks sure looked heavy and perfectly dressed I’m a little confused on how exactly people were able to carve out the inside of a mountain into perfectly shaped blocks with hand tools and transport the blocks down the mountain and across the country with horse and carts in my experience that would be considered extremely challenging to the point of being cost prohibitive today with all the modern machinery and technology we have available I don’t get how any of Taft could even be possible and seems totally unnecessary in that early time period all I can say for sure is that is a crazy looking mountain thank you very much for documenting it awesome video good luck
The blocks were set on a flatbed railcar and lowered down to the rail line along route 7. There was a winch house that lowered the cars down. And it wasn't on the road that they walked up. It literally went straight down the mountain pretty close to a 40 degree angle.
Thats the Dorset bat caves. We threw some of the largest parties in VT there durring HS. (Also home of the vermonster. One of the largest cave systems in the US)
I also partied there in highschool, class of '94. I also tripped my balls off in there with a friend once. We brought up a large stereo and set candles up everywhere. One of my best trips ever.
I appreciate your honesty, Was the background music to loud or just annoying in general? Any suggestions to make my videos better? I'm still kind of new at this.....
@@tcsworld203it was definitely too loud when it was playing in the background and you were talking. Just trying to listen to you talk but hearing music at the same time was annoying. But I still watched it, good video👍 I wouldn’t have complained but i saw you were asking for genuine feedback and thought it might help
I do swear here and there when I get excited, but its not often once or twice in any given video. I'm not being hateful or mean in its context, I'm being real and I'm being myself. With that in mind I will be more mindful about this and try to be more reserved when I get all giddy about coming up on something that I find exciting. I do appreciate the feed back thanks.
On a down note my coworker and friend Tim Gagnon died in a flooded marble quarry in Vermont. Cave diving in the winter time, RIP Tim.
So many parties up there back in the good ol days. 🎉
