    Great video!
    Things you have forgotten:
    1. In case you are over your CPU or PG limit, you can hover the mouse over the corresponding bar to see how many % you are over. Then you can know which implant can fix the situation.
    2. If you press FitShip, it will check what parts of the required fit you already have, and then you can press Buy Remaining Things (or something like that). Helps to prevent redundent purchases.
    3. You can also buy (and fit) several fits in the same time.
    4. There is a simulation history to compare to slightly different fits. I use it much less than I should.

    I use the in-game fitting tool as much as I use Pyfa. However, it is a huge advantage to be able to simulate Implants, SP, Boosters, weather effects, application against specific NPCs, etc. At a certain point in the game, this is very important and most people should use it.

    Very informative 👌.I would agree to a certain extent that most casual players won’t benefit from pyfa but, for higher level pve/pvp pyfa really comes in handy especially when minmaxing for things like T6 abyss and C5 ratting. And In terms of pvp having pyfa open on another monitor really helps for damage calcs or checking resist holes without having to use the clunky in game simulation methods. And this can also work for theory crafting on fits or checking how implants will affect EHP which I don’t think you can simulate in game without having the implant set. For example I was recently checking how much ehp extra you get from going from mid grade amulets to high for a black ops fit, which I could do in pyfa without splashing the cash in game. Really loving the content recently keep it up 👍

    Well Done Benzie that was a great explanation of the fitting window.
    It drove me nutz when I was a beginning player... someone would give me a build and I never understood why I was overloaded on capacitor or CPU.
    Until I came to the realization that your SKILLS have a massive affect on how much CPU and Power each item consumes.
    Pyfa is an awesome tool, but I truly am only using it now because I have more than 100 fits I want to save.
    The in game fit manager is limited to how many fits it will hold.
    Even though pyfa is very good... I still test my fits in the fitting screen and export to pyfa when I get it the way I want.
    Again well done.... Your videos are very helpful even now that I have been playing for near 2 years.

    Another advantage to pyfa is that if you cannot make a fit have enough, PG, CPU, Cap, etc. you can right click a module and see what skills affect it, improve them in a simulation, and see the effect. Will advanced weapon upgrades V allow you to fly that tempest fit? Pyfa lets you see what improving a skill will do for you. Cheers, Mate

    Hey benzie! The “direction arrows” are called vectors; in math they’re a group of numbers that describe various variables. X, Y, Z, & Velocity are super common for use in games to determine where models are and how fast they’re moving but a vector can have _anything_ in it (games go crazy with vectors)

    Useful video, and I learned some things I hadn't know before. But the one button you didn't mention is the one that I want to know about! That's the one called Save State. What I imagined it should do is let me save different versions of a fit and step back and forth between them easily. My use case would be when I import a fit, find I lack the skills to use certain modules (e.g. T2), and then substitute those with T1 modules. I would like to save the original imported fit, and my downgrades as a separate state, so that as I learn the necessary skills I can easily go back to the original. But I've never been able to get that button to do what I want. What is the correct way to use it ? I think this is connected to the simulation history mentioned in the post that you pinned.

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  5 місяців тому

    Good video, only thing which stands out to me as a miss is the shield recharge mechanics. They used the same curve as the capacitor, so the peak recharge is around double what the number shows in the tank drop-down. Good video though, nicely made!

    Both Pyfa and the ingame fitting tool have their uses. I use the in-game tool for my day to day fitting, and quickly making a fit I want to use in the next 5 minutes. Which is 90% of the time Im making a fit. That last 10% is when I need to optimise the living shit out of a ship, a ship that Im going to use for a long time, or that is expensive.
    Note: I love pyfa, but knowing how the ingame fitting window works is way more usefull. Amazing video.

  • @0xDEADBEEF
    @0xDEADBEEF 4 місяці тому

    Pyfa allows you to craft fits with your skills imported via ESI. It can simulate various scenarios with incoming dps profiles, you can test what implants and implant sets make your fit to work in certain cases. Also you can test your fit for output dps to specific targets counting its signature radius, distance and speed. Projected effects, neutralizers and so more. All of this impossible with ingame fitting window and all fitting window features are implemented in Pyfa

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  4 місяці тому

      I know what Pyfa can do, my point is that for 90% of players none of that is necessary

    • @0xDEADBEEF
      @0xDEADBEEF 4 місяці тому

      @@captainbenzie 90% of players does use corporation doctrine fittings. Better to find fits on zKB or EVE Workbench and then import that directly to the fitting window in the game. But crafting the fits in that window is very very uncofortable, and I believe that all doctrine fits and EVE Workbench fits are created with Pyfa

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  4 місяці тому

      @@0xDEADBEEF "90% of players" aren't in player run corps to start with - according to CCP, that's less than 40% of players. This lind of proves my point.

    If you want to know your EHP/s instead of HP/s you can just do the following calculation:
    HP/s divided by 1 minus your lowest resistance percentage
    So example you have 120 hp/s and your lowest resistance is 67%
    1 - 0.67 = 0.33
    120 / 0.33 = 363
    So with that values you have 363 EHP/s

    • @diamondmx3076
      @diamondmx3076 5 місяців тому

      I think, but am not certain, that most things use an average of your resists to calculate EHP.
      Your calculation is also valid (a more pessimistic estimate), but FYI.

    Hiya. So a lot of me resubbing to the game has to do with your videos and i want to say thank you for taking the time and effort to put these together, not to mention that there is a cost to trying out these ships. Having said that, I have a big boy gameplay kinda question:
    I noticed that you dont really rely on the corp for your content (farming the C3 Static), and this has led me to ask,
    How do you or do you have any advice on searching for wh content solo? Do you absolutely need alts? Safety precautions for ratting when you dont have eyes on the entrance/exit holes? Like dscan is a must but most pvp in wh is cloacky sooo .. how do you handle that?

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  6 місяців тому +1

      Firstly, welcome home! I'm really glad that I've been able to help you get back into EVE!!
      Secondly, I rely on my corp A LOT. Our scouts are scanning down our connected systems, bookmarking wormholes and sites, scanning nearby systems to see if they're occupied, and providing watchful eyes on the wormholes to ensure nobody we don't know is coming in. Other rafters and industrialists are in these systems and on Comms, we immediately alert each other to any unknown presence. Besides that, the stuff I show in my videos are when I'm out at safe times with these folks watching, knowing that our chain is quiet.
      That all said, you can absolutely do this solo on one character. I've talked about this early on in my Wormhole Life playlist. You'll need good scanning skills and a ship that can scan and do the content. This may be the same ship, like a Loki or Tengu or what have you, but early on I used to scan a chain with my Cheetah, then dock up and swap to a different ship. Its riskier, for sure, and you need to be on top of your D-Scan game, but it's doable and a lot of fun!!

    • @floyd1411
      @floyd1411 6 місяців тому

      @@captainbenzie but wouldnt solo gameplay involve close down hole connections, having eyes on the holes using alts?
      Full disclosure, it could be the timezones, but whenever i am on, either the holes are left crit, and the C3 has already been run or no activity because hostiles are next door. So right now about a week, i am starving for content but if i do it solo, i am almost certainly going to lose the loki. And so is there any advice of how to do it with just 1 char?
      Video content idea (caz i dont think you have made a video about it): talking about the times you hvae been ganked, the mistakes made and or the success stories?

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  6 місяців тому +1

      @@floyd1411 when you're playing solo, you have to work with what you have. A closing connection isn't a problem if you can scan a new one. Yes, it's high risk, but it's high reward too. I used to do it based out of Gallente space near Dodixie. Scan a wormhole, jump in, explore until you find a good system, rat it (on high alert) and move on. Dump cargo often, have spare ships all over New Eden.
