Thank you for sharing your journey with us man. I’ve followed you since before the development of your balance issues and it has been an inspiration seeing you overcome adversity. There is a Dutch phrase “Elk nadeel heeft zijn voordeel” (every disadvantage has its advantage) I like to think upon when misfortune rears its ugly head, and I’d like to think with what seemed like a cataclysmic event in your life, it’s turned into something beautiful and unlocked parts of climbing you did not consider possible, and strengthened your inner belief in yourself and resolve. You’re stronger than ever. You achieving those paddle dynos was AMAZING and I’m eager to see how you continue to grow as I can’t help but want to keep growing myself 🤩 much love from across the ocean!
Thank you for such a lovely message, It's been a long journey for sure :) I'm so stoked to share more climbing videos with you and the rest of the community :D
@@gingobingo1567 for most people I reckon that's true, for me not so much the case, usually excited 😊. But I suppose it depends if you class excitement and anxious as a similar emotion.
Yes Erik! Nice to see your progression. Being a role model for all of us in the community for not giving up when tough times hit. Love ya my bro, and keep on going!
It's great to see how much you've improved Eric!! I remember watching your videos like 5 years ago and got pretty sad you weren't showing up anymore. Congrats on the climbs and on the comeback arc 🔥
This video just put a giant smile on my face :) Love how you are abolutely oozing intent especially on the first two boulders, taking no prisoners and just crushing it - HELL YEAH! So happy to see you enjoy this so much. Yeah buddy!
Eric, I find your journey so inspiring to watch. You have so many amazing friends and people around you who so obviously care a ton about you. You don't apologize for anything; you just try your hardest and return the love. That is really amazing.
Almost exactly 6 years ago i started climbing (bouldering only in the beginning). After each training my skin was gone for almost 10 days so my only way to feed the climbing addiction in the meantime were Eric's videos. I had probably 50-60:1 ratio of hours watching climbing vs actually climbing. Im so glad that after all this time you're still here and fighting and crushing. Keep it up man!
It's super inspirating to see this. I have my own share of physical irremediable problems and it gives me hope to be able to do things. Not climbing for me, just basic stuff but it helps seeing this kind of video.
Great video man, I always appreciate your honesty about your journey through everything. Been a viewer for years and just appreciate it - especially as a fellow injured climber person. Super motivating as always! Lmao - also whenever you fall your ring on the necklace hits the mic it sounds like a bone breaking, reminding me of my incidents haha
amazing progression man!! it makes us happy to see you trying hard again :D Do you have in mind making a video of your training regime and tips to getting stronger? It is sometimes frustrating to feel that the body does not recover as fast as before as you grow older and gets injured more often
Awesome to see that the hard work pays off! Such a nice Journey to watch (: Ive been here since the very beginning, I can remember the video where you told us about that inflamed nerve issues (?) and you showed off some pretty astounding skills like OAP and that Ball campusing. Still one of the videos I get really emotional. You were so strong back then, but you also seem really unhealthy and unhappy (?) and its nice to see you now being strong and super healthy even with the balance thing (: Keep up the nice work! Its amazing to watch and feel inspired by it.
It was cool to see the different struggles and beta attempts from.... a not professional climber. Pro's just breeze through what I climb. I would be stoked to see more struggling from Eric with different beta attempts and descriptions of the pros and cons of each beta.
Your journey and story is super inspiring Eric. Truly amazing to see your resilience and perseverance. No doubt in my mind you'll send Jack's Broken Heart someday 👏
It’s funny that finally after all these years Erik Karlsson Bouldering is actually…Erik Karlsson bouldering lol. No more of the excuses of because of this or that im on this level. There is always someone better, and always someone newer in every sport. People just love to watch effort.
Dude, just like to let you know that the notification on my phone for this video appeared as "I blew Emil and Nikken", cutting off the remaining text 😅. Great video otherwise!
Hey Eric, I think you could benefit significantly from learning how to fall better. The spot at 5:49 where you try to recover and run it out is actually pretty dangerous for you for example if that wall had been closer. Easy broken wrist (I have a friend who just did exactly that!). But if you had just fallen to the mat immediately when you felt the loss of balance come on, I think there are ways you could learn to fall that aren't very complex that might significantly help you to manage the risks of your loss of balance condition. Now you don't want to just fall like a rag doll. There's some technique that helps enormously. Check out the falling skills in sports like soccer, parkour, rugby, wrestling, judo, etc. Most of those sports should have some established pedagogy for how to teach people good falling technique, and if you find the proper instructors I don't think it would take you long to learn. Also, your progress in dealing with the balance issues has been massively inspiring. Keep up the amazing work and high standards of excellence!
What shoes are you wearing in this video hevent seen that dark green anywhere before. Great video as always and I am really psyched to see your progression
Hmm I have super sweaty feet, so I always struggle with every shoe when I stand on small slab feet, so I'm not good at giving my input on that specific issue, but i really like the shoes
It's a very hard thing to explain, spent 1000 of hours over 8 years to really figure it out, but I would say, get Music from Artlist or Musicbed, they have high quality music, this makes your job a lot easier!

The come back is onnn, flowing on the wall so beautifully 🥹🥹
Eric 'the comp kid' Karlsson making some great moves❤
Love it, makes me psyched to go climbing! 😁
In my opinion, if you aren't anxious before a climb, the climb isn't hard enough.
Very well done Eric!
With sport climbing especially
Can't say I've ever been anxious my self even on limit climbing. So I think it's just depends on the individual I reckon 😊
@@MrMax247 I think it's more about how much you want to send it. If you don't really care if you send it you won't feel any stress.

It's a little inside joke with the crew, I turned 35 this year, so I'm closer to being 40 than 30 now :D

Torque from So ill, I really like them :)
Erik looking buff these days.
inspiring✨
proud 💪
I need to know where Nikken’s black ‘Allez’ shirt is from! I’ve seen a few people wearing it at gyms but so far failing to find the source 😂
How do you like the soill torques? I find, but wonder if you notice, my toes slipping when feet get sweaty?

Crushing it
So good
What is the music at 8:40 - 10:20?
Great video and progess on the climbs! Just one little thing: Could you please remove the chain when wearing a mic? 🙏
yeah will for the future videos, noticed the sound when i did the edit :)
🔥🔥
❤❤❤❤❤
Eric is such a cutie pie ❤
You did what to Emil?
Kneebar the start of the yellow boulder come on
woo
why do the women in that country sound like elmo when talking english O_o
why cant he stay in balance
I believe he has inner ear issues. Crystals inside the semicircular canals.
I don‘t get why you guys always share beta before the first try. For me the most fun part of bouldering is figuring out how to solve the problem
40 years old? No way bro
35 years to be honest, closing in on 40 :D
Use your thumbs!
First!!
still got it ;D
erik actually sucks at climbing... we rather see nikken climb
i feel very sad for you. hating on someone who is having so much fun. sad
