  • I should have used lower settings, a few games were still GPU bound in some scenarios even tho they were running at 1080p with DLSS, but I've only realized that after it was too late lmao.
    Recorded with Nvidia Shadowplay. All games were tested at 1920x1080.

    Nice! Is 7600X tuned besides PBO? Subtimings?
    From identical runs I've made my bdie tuned i9-9900K seems faster in FC6 and Spider Man, slower in TLOU and Warzone, and identical in Returnal - others not sure. You can see some runs in my latest video. Maybe replicate them - the market area in PTR and ACM etc. Would be curious to see.
    I guess you tune more and tighten out all the timings it can prob get 10% faster.

      @yezivid  4 місяці тому +2

      I didn't bother with any fine tuning, it's just PBO with some curve optimizer/negative offset and Buildzoid's 6000 C30 timings. I only got this 7600 for like ~2 weeks, while I was waiting for my 7800X3D replacement, cause I managed to kill it with some iGPU overclocking lol.
      Didn't mention in the description, but in Spider-Man Remastered, beside RT On, I cranked up the "Object Range" to 10, which is pretty much a CPU killer setting, so make sure to match the settings, cause it can lead to misleading results.

      @@yezivid so your 7600 is already running quite decent timings then, it's actually even more impressive to me that tuned i9-9900K can catch up with it. I thought it could only match XMPed Zen4/5800X3D.
      Now it makes more sense, because I've seen 7900X/5800X3D deliver same fps in TLOU (115 avg) and Warzone (200-230) but yours is 10% higher. I guess it's the Buildzoid timings doing their thing.
      I see, in Spider Man I had the default range and it got me around 120-130fps when cpu bound. I think it'll prob drop to about 100 or smth, don't have the game now. No RT is 150-180fps cpu bound.

      But i think in cpu intensive games your cpu cant stand near any of 7600 or 5800x3d right? (Fortnite)@HeartOfAdel

    • @HeartOfAdel
      @HeartOfAdel Місяць тому +2

      @@just_OsaMa23 in Fortnite certainly not, it's very amd favoring. Maybe it could compete in 1%/0.1%. In other games sure it sometimes could, at least with 5700x3d. 7600x with full tuning is faster than both.
      There are some games where I've seen 5700x3d or xmp 7700x do even worse, but that's rare cases. (Like Dragon's Dogma 2)

    Is it worth getting the better cpu?

    • @yezivid
      @yezivid  2 місяці тому +2

      You are the only one who knows the answer for that question. Do you need that kind of performance that the 7800X3D offers?
      From a price/performance standpoint, definitely not worth it. There's always diminishing returns beyond a certain performance level. Right now, the 7600 is probably the best bang-for-buck if you want a good gaming CPU. High-end never really was about good price/perf.

    Why not CS2?

    • @yezivid
      @yezivid  3 місяці тому +5

      CS2 runs at like 300-400FPS even on a Ryzen 5 5600, in my book it's an irrelevant game as a CPU benchmark.

      High room temp, low fan speed and no offset mount, guess these combined did the trick lol.
      Now that I got the offset mount, the 7800X3D maxes out at 82C under Cinebench R24.

      @@canpehlivan2497 temps can vary because of a WIDE range of things. Room temp, case airflow, fan/pump speed. A CPU will run hotter with a low quality AIO in a 30 degree room if the AIO is on low settings, then a great air cooler on MAX speed in the same room. Then there is always variance between regardless. Several degrees is probably weird if it was running the EXACT same set up, but barely anyone is.

    Dude, you should make the game less GPU intensive and more CPU intensive, realistically there should be like a 30-50% FPS difference...
    Disable RT, lower the graphics to low and you'll see a huge difference.
    CPU upgrades specially for gaming should mostly be competitively based... no one is playing competitive Fortnite with RTX on.

    • @yezivid
      @yezivid  Місяць тому +1

      You will never see 50% difference on average, maybe not even 30% - in HUB’s day one review, they’ve measured a 16% difference between the 7800X3D and 7600X, while in the Intel 14th gen review, it was 28% on average. It really depends on the game, some games benefits hugely from the massive L3 cache while others doesn’t really care about it.
      I admit that I had some GPU bound scenes, tho it was mostly in just Returnal/Starfield, the other games were nearly always CPU bound. I realized in the end that I could have used lower settings, but I started testing with the 7600, since I only had this CPU for like 2 weeks, while my 7800X3D was under warranty-process.
      Talking about RT - I usually turn up CPU intensive graphics settings, and while RT puts a decent load on the GPU, it’s also pretty heavy on the CPU too - if I remember correctly, there was a much less difference in Cyberpunk without RT, but Marvel’s Spider Man’s RT is also really CPU intensive if you max out the object range slider.
      You can test CPU performance in a lot of ways, and I don’t think there is only one correct way to do - that’s just how I prefer to test.
